The following video was sent to me recently when I discussed some related subjects with a friend not too long ago (i.e. why is Islam being demonised so much in the media, is there is truth behind it or just more human intolerance).

I am agnostic in my beliefs, I believe in a god and this spiritual view balances out my scientific and logical view but do not consider myself religious in any sense.

I found the above video very interesting from a couple of points...

Firstly the guy in the video does an excellent job of explaining what Christianity really is and the whole problem with a god that is "both one and 3"...not logical and god would not be illogical if the god of Christ is supposed to be this all encompassing creator. But he makes a good argument for the real Christianity which I have always believed to be based around the old work, the Gospels and not the new age stuff (because that is what it is) that is being banded about.

Also his reasons for accepting Islam are interesting and it's nice to see someone who doesn't fit the stereotype and is articulate & intelligent enough to explain his decisions.

Anyway I personally feel the OP's argument is flawed as you are essentially saying that "ALL RELIGIONS" are at their root, promoting terrorism because the main religions I have come across all promote similar ideas i.e. trust your god, protect your faith, your loved ones and your close friends, be a morally correct person etc.

People of this day and age are generally too ignorant to understand anything anymore so it is probably a good thing that religion is being wiped out of history in this way.

i think the three in one is a reference to the fact, all three of them were known as jehovah in torah. one was the sumerian enlil, one was the sumerian enki (also known as ea) and one was the sumerian anu. this is spirit (enlil is lord air/wind/sky/spirit), son (who is ea, son of enlil) and anu, who is lord heaven. how they were condensed into one, is perfectly understandable. the tower of babel event confused the languages (long story, deliberately left out of the texts, but hinted at heavily if you know what you're looking for), and the people who later wrote down the text of the torah, condensed them all into one.

If you don't know why they're good, then how can you know that Islamism is bad?

Because I am not a moral relativism extremist or nihilist like you - in fact, I am a moral objectivist (humanist). Infringing upon basic human rights of innocent people is wrong, if by nothing else then at least according to the Golden Rule. No amount of crazy philosophing and intellectual masturbation can obfuscate this simple self-evident truth.

Okay, so you've gone through a great deal of copying and pasting to get your biased point across that Muslims are naturally extremist and their religion teaches terrorism. Look up the word terrorism/terrorist.

I can guarantee you, I can pull out double the amount of quotes from the Bible, whose instructions come from God's mouth, that preach way more terrorism than the quran can conjure up. But, I'm smarter than you, I won't waste my time copying and pasting that drivel, do it yourself...or just pick up a Bible and start reading.

Why is it wrong for an Islamist to sever a thief's hand, when he expects his own hand to be severed if he steals? He is doing unto another what he would have done unto himself if he had been exposed as a thief.

I understand the message of how idolatry can cause such damage to civilizations. Christianity is a religion of idolatry, although Jesus himself tried his hardest to keep the people from idolizing any man. How's that for hypocrisy? I don't consider myself religious, which is why I'm not afraid of the Muslim 'boogeyman.' But if I'm mistaken for an idolizer, well... #.

I'm sure if God exists then he will be above this immaturity. I think if God exists he'd have better means of educating humans rather than a) telling a man something in a cave b) crucifying your own respawning son on a cross c) other rediculous myth. I'm more than sure if God exists, he's beyond all that, the dogma of ancient scriptures is clearly man's work and not God's.

Sorry for not reading through all the pages.

I read another thread in which you said you havent even read the whole Quran. If that is so, then the quotes you ahve put up are verses most likely took from an agenda driven, propaganda induced, biased source, and that has resulted in a definite hate filled opinion.

To finish your post wanting to have a rational, debateable topic on this thread after the OP starting off with such a hate filled post, its quite insulting.

Im not going to get into this too much, not until you have given a better quotes taken from the Quran, that hasnt been a copy and paste job taking each and every verse out of its original context in scripture.

Anyone can read the English translation in the Quran, and understand that the context in which you have taken these verses, are propaganda induced for the real context an interpretation is very logical rational and with solid reasoning.

As for altering the Quran to suit common times, first of all coming from a religionists view this is God's word and who are you/we to change it.
Coming from an athiests view, trying to alter the Quran is absolutely impossible for you, or for the luciferic TPTB. It has been memorised and taught through 999999 generations. And if you think you can convince the Muslims to do so, is also impossible.

However its not all bad news for you OP, because yes one day Islam will disappear, and when the prophesised final revelations take place, it is only God that can remove Islam from Earth, The rapture/smoke will cause all muslims to die/disappear and all the scripture or text from all the Qurans will vanish.

What is extremism? What is terrorism? Walk a mile in another person's shoes. Look at the world through another person's perspective. If you try to really grasp and understand what I said, then you might see why labeling everything as an extremist or a terrorist is foolish.

It's like looking at the world through a single-colored lens. And even that analogy doesn't quite work, because I know some people who are colorblind who are some of the most gentle and compassionate people around.
