Well, that's the price you pay for being another intelligent, stupid person. How many journalists have to die before they get it? STAY OUT OF A COUNTRY THAT IS AT WAR WITH YOU OR WHO DOESN'T LIKE THE WESTERN CIVILIZATIONS WAYS. Predominately, islamic countries...hire islamic journalists.

I'm a producer/videographer/journalist for my local public access cable channel and I cover many stories that put me in harms way, but I prefer to fly under the radar with an extremely small high tech, HD AVCHD, unit that is concealed. However I sometimes us a tourist style DSLR/video with a lens that can get the story from a quarter mile away. My sound man has a very small state of the art field recorder and a shotgun mic in his sleeve, totally hidden. We get the story, video and the money that goes with being a free lancer. We don't crave notoriety, or attention and
have other ways to satisfy our egos, Mainly by covering the corruption and heroism of those pledged to "serve and protect" and making documentaries of female rock bands.

Obviously big networks have a different style and I detect a sense of envy by those that have no direction or passion other than criticism of those that do get out there and do something. Pathetic posers.

I'll bet if a Fox camera crew had of been roughed, up the keyboard warriors here at ATS would have been condemning the savage Arabs.

What a bunch of hypocrites, we constantly see the "muggers" that want to get in front of the camera in hopes that they might get on TV. Don't let your ideologies get in the way of your common sense.

Exactly. So many of these responses have shown a sheer happiness and joy that someone was hurt, some even suggesting they wish he had been killed. I guess that's what a certain faction in America has sunk to. Pathetic.

Sorry but I have to say B.S on the claim if this was Fox News... bla bla bla.

I probably wouldn't be able to get a response in edge wise if this was a thread about a Fox News person attacked due to all of the Anti-Fox/Serves Fox Right comments.

You know it and I know it.

That one isn't flying here in this thread.

He didn't say people wouldn't be criticizing Fox, only that the right wingers would be on here talking about what an outrage it was, how Muslims are animals, etc.

Besides, Anderson Cooper doesn't make his career by attacking people. The Fox personalities do.

THIS is what's happening to western journalists over there. Funny stuff, huh?

OMG. It went from AC's sexuality, to left vs. right wingers. Somehow, this BS, by design wingnut paradigm is injected into every single topic. Our government will never have to worry about an uprising like the one in Egypt, the sheep in this country are the most easily controlled on earth. The funny thing is so many think that because they own a few guns, that they're not. Guns mean nothing in the hands of brainwashed drones.

Anyway, whether it's Fox news, CNN, or Gary Gnews (not many will know what I'm talking about there), the pro-govt crowd in Egypt will attack you. Doesn't matter if you're a westerner, or from the ME, their mission is to stop any coverage of the coming crackdown. Mubarak isn't going to give up power that easily. The funny thing is, Obama in trying to play both sides lost an ally when it comes to Israeli interests. He should have kept quiet all together, since words aren't going to change anything anyway.

It's what's happening to ANY journalist over there. OBL could be there with a camcorder, and they would slap him around and take his camera. It's government sponsored, they could kill those journalists if they wanted to, instead they smack them around, rob them, and "stab them lightly in the leg". That doesn't add up to true rage or hatred, they're not trying to kill journalists, just scare them. If AC was walking around the streets of Baghdad in the crowds during the war, think how much differently that would have went...this isn't about hatred for westerners, not everything revolves around us.

The homophobic ignorance displayed by some folks on this site is truly appalling.

It is just a few. I just don't understand how people can display such ignorance publicly.

If you are truly that uneducated the least of your worries should be who Mr. Cooper sleeps with.

You should spend a few hours brushing up on basic human decency.

Today on RUSH LIMBAUGH's radio show he stated he had it from good sources that

the President of Egypt has fled the country. He did name any sources but indicated he believed it to be true.

He didn't know where he may have fled to.

My guess is Israel or Canada.

Yeah, they're still in the square to my knowledge. The intimidation from the government sponsored mobs is working though, last night they spent the evening reporting from the floor of a hotel room with the lights out...

Agreed. The first articles I read were suggesting it was western journalists that were being targeted, but evidently it is all of them. And it's clearly a reprehensible thing. But evidently, it's FUNNY --and something that should be CHEERED-- when it happens to Anderson Cooper. I mean I'm sorry, but that attitude is pathetic.

I was listening to a morning radio talk show this morning and they played an audio clip of the attack on A. Cooper, aparently captured from his mic. You can hear him struggling and talking at the same time trying to report while being hit. You can hear him saying "OK I just got hit on the head again" then there is scruffling sounds and loud protester yelling in the background. Then you hear him saying he is being kicked and they are trying to quickly walk away. Lots of shouting and 'thud' noises as you hear him having trouble talking and saying what is going on during the attack. This doesn't sound like any hoax at all. I am not sure where the radio station got the sound clip from but I am sure MSM will start playing it if they haven't already.

Regardless if he is liked or not, no one should be 'sucker-punched'.

I agree. It's sad and pathetic that so many people in this supposedly civilized country are so ignorant and mean spirited towards anybody different than themselves. Karma is a bitch though.

Haha I wonder if he's still pro Egypt, pro Muslim brotherhood, and pro 'democracy' after seeing their true colors.
Same goes with all of the liberal media.
...but I do feel bad for the guy...no one deserves to get hit in the face 10 times- not even liberals

What?!!

"After seing their true colours"? AND *ranting* against the people who are pro 'democracy' ?

Ahh! is this a statement from some delusional fascist, or?

Sorry, but you must be seriously confused dude!

Anderson wasn't attacked by the anti-Mubarak supporters and the Muslim Brotherhood at the Tahrir Square!

It was the Pro-Mubarak crowd (with plainclothes police & security forces) who were attacking Anderson Cooper and the CNN crew!

Please get the facts right!

Peace!

Yeah I was confused, I misread it. I'm sorry. Why do I have to be told my mistake 9 times in this thread.. Sheesh.

They recorded the whole thing on video as well, he does try and report the whole time while being pushed around, and hit in the head, but again, they weren't really trying to do alot of damage. Just intimidation. He pointed out while being harassed that the soldiers weren't doing anything to stop it. It's been obvious that although they are not directly attacking the anti-government folks, they are siding with the pro-government thugs, they allow them to move in and out of the square freely with weapons, and beat people down, but stop and search the anti-government protesters and block them from entering the square. It was definitely not a hoax though, but on this site it's normal for a percentage to call everything a hoax.
