Here's somethings I found on him. I don't think he is hiding his sexuality.

Anderson Cooper and boyfriend, Ben Maisani

Anderson Cooper lives in a converted firehouse in Greenwich Village.

Honestly, they look good together. All the power to em.

The question is now will the BF go with him next time to watch his back?

An American on the streets of Egypt why doesn`t he just paint a target on his back?
It must have been pro mubarak supporters that hit him ,the muslim brotherhood were armed by the CIA so they wouldn`t want to hurt him.

Muslims want to run the country and go back to the stone age so obambi calls on mubarak to resign but when the Iranian people were rioting for more democracy he never said anything ( did not call on the mullahs to resign )its obvious to me where his loyalties are

No, probably not. I read, now that they have bought a house together, they are going to adopt a Haitian child and then Ben will be able to stay with the child when AC has to go overseas. I don't know if this is true or not, but supposedly, this is what a very close friend of his says.

**********************************************************************

To all the people complaining about the comments:

t's pretty common knowledge amongst everyone that knows him that he is gay from what I have read, even though he has not come out officially.

Does it matter? Not to me, but like I said before, to me, he has an arrogant, elitist attitude. Maybe that comes from his upbringing, who knows.

In any case, I don't agree with a lot of what he says whether he's gay or not. It's pretty obvious that his monied background colors his views to a certain extent. It's been said that he had no formal journalistic background, so how do you get a job at CNN unless it's because of who you know?

He comes from the Vanderbilt family, and they are smack dab in the middle of the NWO one world agenda, part of or intermarried into one of the 13 bloodlines that are ruling the world, and as a journalist, his point of view influences many people.

That is why a lot of people here have a problem with him, and why they are making jokes about it.

I don't think anyone who said anything extreme really, actually meant they hoped he died, .....it was sarcasm.

It would take some major balls to be a foreigner, especially an AMERICAN and be caught up in the middle of that mess. You guys make all the jokes you want while you sit behind a PC but I'd bet you don't have the nuts to do what he does.

He's pretty lucky he hasn't taken a brick to the melon or one of those firebombs.

I don't see how AC's sexuality is at all relevant to any of this.

That said, it was said on CNN a few hours ago that there are three pages of reports pf violence (made by an organization that tracks violence against journalists) against journalists from all countries by pro-Mubarek forces. According to what was said, they include reporters from the BBC, Isreal, Denmark, Belgium, etc. Two other CNN groups have run into violence as well, Irvin Watson's team is for all intents and purposes trapped inside of a building with some other non US crews. AC is just the highest proffle journalist to have had problems.

You nailed it....It's easy to sit back and be a keyboard badass.

Criticize his style of journalism if you want.

But in the spirit of denying ignorance, His sexuality should never be an issue. I realize no harm was intended.

They got what they wanted. A change in leadership in September.

And you would trust him to stand by that platitude once he has rounded up and punished the protesters that were against him?

If they give up now there will be many 'disappeared' I think.

Exactly right, for being the rich, elitist sissie many here behind their computers are declaring him to be, he sure puts himself right in the middle of the most extreme situations on earth, consistently.

The pro-Mubarak crowd is pretty much the same as the pro-government crowd in Iran. Most of them aren't there because they believe in a cause, but because they're being paid and told to go stir up trouble to try and scare the ant-government crowd. They didn't just attack AC either, they were attacking all reporters, even local ones. That's also likely why they didn't beat him more severely or kill him, that probably wasn't what they were told to do, just to stop the filming.

His sexuality makes no difference here.

The point is that the pro Mubarak people have turned on the media. AC was not the only person attacked, al arabiya had a journalist who was beat up, robbed, and camera equipment smashed and he is in intensive care.

The first eight days were very peaceful, the story is that the "new" protesters are trying to start some serious violence. It seems that they are targeting journalists, which considering Mubarak kicked out and arrested al jazeera tells me that these paid protesters are simply trying to get rid of media coverage. If they are successful what methods will they use when the world isn't watching as closely?

first of all, egyptians oddly often shield foreigners because they see its not their fault or problem and dont deserve to be harmed. So believe me, foreigners get it real good over there, and if it werent for the egyptians who protected AC he wouldve came out of it with a not so nice face. Even that other CNN woman reporter got protected by that one guy. Normally, reporters especially foreign are always respected but Mubarak's thugs were told to beat up journalists because the government is really pissed off at them, they already closed Aljezzera office and are now cracking down on all reporters as his tweet from CNN indicates:

"Expect the Government of #Egypt to shortly begin cracking on the international media. The coverage is taking a heavy toll. #tahrir #jan25"

Secondly, Muslim Brotherhood are almost playing no role at all, is that so hard to believe? They arent even popular.

I was hoping for chariots!

David Cameron and the rest of the old gang should watch their back, we could have this in the UK soon, once the cuts and losses begin to take place.

I just thought it was funny how many times he brought up the fact that he got roughed up. Even when it had nothing to do with what he was talking about. His voice would tremble when he'd talk about it. I like AC well enough, but if you are trying to be a gonzo-journalist in the midst of a revolution, cowboy up.

No matter his views or
his sexuality, you have to
give the man credit, took
the beating and kept on
with the story, he knew
the risks, and i think that
he handled the situation
quite well, star for him.

On TV it looks like one of those John Wayne bar fights in the old west except 1,000 times larger.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys on camels swinging pieces of rebar, women in burka's gathering rocks and bits of crumbling buildings, the other side attacking on horseback......... TOO FUNNY, but very sad. Tourism is going to take a huge hit and tourism is where most of the educated young are employed.....
