Well..there's still some hope left
There has been speculation(s) about controlling but nothing concrete or approved as of yet. If I can type whatever I want and getaway with it then there's still some hope
If the suits show up at the doorsteps for every petty little things that we type on the net then its definitely a done deal.

When they talk about a 'kill switch', that tells me they already have one.

Regarding censorship, have you ever been checking something out that you were a little leery of, related to the government, then all of a sudden, your system crashes?

This is what happens when you get in the middle... Never really liked him anyways.

And they couldn't finish him off?

That mob sucks, no wonder Mubarek is still in power.

Riots just aren't what they used to be.

Amazing the amount of hostility and hatred here. I may disagree with someone's political, religious, or personal views, but there are very few people that I would actually wish to be dead. Some seriously sick people.

TO bad they didn't make AC do a 360 with a round house kick in the face, or throw a molotov at him.

I find it funny he *GETS HITS* and can use this to his *advantage*...

Whats that phrase *never let a good crisis go to waste*

What the hell is wrong with some of you?

Thing is though that it's only rumor's that he's homosexual. He's never come out and said it. On a site that has the motto of denying ignorance, people sure are selective on what truth is and isn't.

That's weird, I thought he out-ed himself some time ago?

Gay or not?

But apparently it was just a rumor. I could find no proof.

He's there trying to do what so many of the poster moan about....Report the truth...He's trying to get the word out about these people who are protesting for their belief in Democratic Principles....He is always in the action...and Clearly has more brass then anyone who's commenting on him....
The response to this man...(Pretty clearly illustrating the supressed gay tendencies that often trigger gay hate...)
Is childish and pitiful....Shame.

The members in the forum link you gave says he's dating a Black man named Julio Cesar.
Then goes on again to mention Julio Cesar is Black.

Riiiiiight.

He's never said he was Gay, but neither has Kevin Spacey or Jodi Foster (well formally).
Till then, it's really just a bunch of rumors.

Exactly what I stated, only rumors.

I have heard so many times that AC out-ed himself publicly... on this show, or in that interview, but all is just unsubstantiated rumors.

I was addressing the homophobic tone of some posters. I have honestly never heard it suggested he was gay.

I just can't believe people could still use someone's sexual preference against them.

It's so 1980's...

Well OUT magazine did a list of powerful Gay celebrities, which had him and Jodie Foster on the cover, but neither of them posed for it, and Anderson definitely never stated his sexual orientation publicly. They just ran the article without their consent.

Still...it seems to be a prominent whisper when his name comes up.

A lot of people knew/know that Jodie Foster is Gay.
Some of her own siblings have mentioned this fact.

Also...some people in the media like to play games with the info.

When the movie she starred in, "The Brave One", went number one that week it premiered, The Drudge Report noted this with a link title saying "Jodie On Top Of Box Office".

Only they left the word "Office" out.

Get it?

It was later removed/changed after a few minutes, still, I couldn't help but smile.

Nice little dig from the eggshell-man.

Oh please. I imagine most of the posters on this thread haven't spent much time at Kos, TPM, Crooks&Liars, Think Progress, etc, so they don't really appreciate the full irony of these church lady shame on you type replies. Shoot, this thread is nursery mouth compared to HuffPo. It doesn't even come close. Ever hear 'some people are like slinkies- good for absolutely nothing, but you can't help but smile when you watch them tumble down the stairs'? Anderson Cooper is one of those people. It has nothing to do with his sexuality. The reason why has already been explained.
I don't guess it would make you feel better to know that when the quips were flying, posts like yours made it that much funnier.
It truly is a joke.

Am I supposed to be outraged by this, or show some kind of empathy for the perils of Anderson Cooper? This man is getting millions to go to these hot zones to report, and physical harm or death is an inherent risk to the profession. He is lucky he made it away with his life. Other reporters have been abducted, beheaded, and killed in combat zones. It is part of the job. He knowingly put himself in a pressure cooker situation. Being between two angry mobs is not the best place to be, and with all of his years of experience, he should have known better. We have to remember he is not a cub reporter, but a seasoned veteran. Instead of getting on the air and grandstanding, he could of simply said he and his crew were accosted by protesters, and went back to the real story which is the protests. Moreover, here is video of his analysis of the situation, and I noticed something peculiar?

Anyone see any bruises? If what he said is true, and numerous protesters were hitting him in the head and face, he would have bruises. Plus, were is the video of it. Cameramen are taught to shoot anything that it out of the ordinary no matter what, just shoot. Nothing? Where was the footage from Cooper's hand held camera that he was using? I find the whole thing to be kind of peculiar. Perhaps, it is more dramatization of a situation, and pouring on the shock and awe for the sake of ratings, an agenda, or some other deep-seeded intent? We can't rely on these reporters or the networks for fair, objective, and factual reporting on anything. Here is a reporter caught in the act of over dramatizing.

Don't take anything reported in the mainstream news at face value, because it seems to be more like entertainment than a means to educate people. Until I see bruisers and video of Anderson Cooper and crew being assaulted; he is just over dramatizing the situation as far as I am concerned. Moreover, he is doing more of a disservice than a service. He is not the story, and it is the demonstrators in the square who are. So, Mr. Cooper stop crying poor mouth, and you knew the job was dangerous when you took it.

So Anderson Cooper is "good for nothing"?? You know him personally?? Have you met him even ONCE??

I find nothing funny about joking about someone being killed. "Church Lady"?? Give me a #ing break!! There is a million mile difference between self-rightous, ignorant hypocrites, and a person with with a brain and a heart. Call me a "Bleeding Heart Liberal" , "Tree Hugger", whatever label you want to throw out. I'd will GLADLY call myself one. By the way, I never said the offensive posts were homophobic, even though the do have that tone under the simmering hatred. THAT is what is disturbing. The hatred, the judgement and the inhumanity, and self-righteousness. You don't like someone personally..it's okay to hope that they die. That's really #ed up. I just really hope that people like you don't have children. THAT would be truly sad.
