Exactly. We sit and we watch pretty much helplessly. It's very clear what's happening. Not a damn thing you or I can do but reel from the consequences forced upon you.

Once upon a time, about 15 years ago, a close friend and coworker of mine quit her high-paying job because she said she could no longer work for a company that supported the war machine. At first, I thought she was flat out crazy, made all sorts of excuses for it in my head: Our jobs were not directly involved with making anything that killed people, but the corporation we worked for did. Five years later I realized she was right and quit too. It's a very personal decision. You have to be conscious to make it. And the consequences aren't always easy. But it works out. Especially in your soul.

Personally... the biggest battle around here for the last 1,000 years (actually about 1,700 years) has been between Christians as opposed to Muslims or Islam, Overall Islam has had very little impact, and you can see where the focus really was, as one of the Great Salvations was considered to be from Papal Slavery.

So I am sorry I do not buy the notion that what is happening in the ME is Jihad, or that Jihad is aimed at Western fears.. IMHO it is people who want some of the freedoms others have, and I don't blame them one bit.

ETA: Those who would not submit to Papal slavery are not going to submit to Islam..

Sorry, I can see how what I wrote might be misunderstood.. The comment was response to your comment on Europeans, I was responding that Islam has little impact over the last 1,000 years HERE.

The main threat to life for not conforming/converting has come from the Christian Church in Rome.

So back to your comment, of course Islam has had an impact in Egypt..

Tho I do not feel this protest is Islamic..

I have seen first hand how brutal the police there are, even to the little street kids.. and I can understand their tolerance of that brutality has come to an end, and how they, the people want to same freedoms experienced elsewhere in the world.

I also admit that these protests could be hijacked by any side, at any point, but I don't feel that has happened yet.

Jihad is NOT aimed at Western fears. Jihad, the method by which Islam is propagated, is aimed at ALL non-muslims. They are all targets of Islamic Jihad. Look through time (your history books) and space (your planet) and you will find that where the system of social control called "Islam" interfaces with any other form of social control, there is Jihad. It is not a response to anything non-muslims do. It is the holy obligation of all muslims.

The goal: A One World System governed by Islam and Sharia law. Do you now see who desires your submission to a "new world order"?

If that is the goal. then they cannot be an increase in individual rights, only a decrease.

There is almost no Christian influence on Egypt at present. Their Coptic past has been erased.

Egypt looks toward Mecca and the black rock from space, not Rome.

In any event, the false religious dressing, sloppily draped over the real violence of Islam, is sweet, sweet candy for the masses to eat. Most muslims are ignorant of system to which they have been yoked. A system that demands their death should they dare to remove that yoke.

1. The muslim you are talking to is probably more ignorant about their system of social control (Islam) than you are and thus you will learn nothing of value.

2. The muslim you are talking to is very knowledgeable about Islam...and thus will lie to you, the infidel, in an effort to spread Islam.

The last 1,000 years of European history is basically one giant blood bath between Islam and the West. Go learn about the Jihad from the blood soaked pages of history.

Most "muslim" nations have no memory of their past. Just look at Egypt. They do not remember their history.

Yes, I was aware I was responding to a muslim. Hopefully, he will begin his long journey back to us by renouncing Jihad. If Islam is so peaceful, violence should not be needed to propagate it.

Either History is repeating it self here or it is a prophecy before the end times, I still need to look into it as being a prophecy already past but it sounds end of days like in comparison with today. It is quite spooky reading it as it does match todays news in fron of us.

I was responding to you mentioning that Europe and Islam had a blood soaked history, and was attempting to balance that out a bit by bringing the idea to the table that the violence within European Christian sects far outstrips the violence between Christians and Islam.

You know, people still burn effigies of the pope around here due to the Church burning people for such things as reading a bible in English.. which prior to the Papal Suported Norman Invasion was common place.. talk about attempting to make the words contained in the bible inaccessible to the masses... Now that was a yoke worth shedding and I say that as a Roman Catholic.

I lean towards the notion that any leadership that uses their religion to brutalise others are equally unpleasant and deserving of a slap..

So to be honest, the whole Idea of a jihad does not scare me, nor does it bother me, since if they try they'll get a good hiding, that I know for sure.

But I really do not think that such a jihad exists outside the wet dreams of a few fundamentals..

And that the whole protest movement at the moment is intent on gaining freedom from oppression.. that does not mean I don't think those who have wet dreams about Jihad are not trying to push their agenda.. I just think they'll fail.
