Your post got me thinking of my favorite comedian (Yegods, do I miss him. R.I.P) George Carlin: "The planet is fine, the people are @#$%ed!" "The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas. A surface nuisance..."

You are so very wrong. Global communications systems, in and of themselves, would be fine, but the technologies to monitor, manipulate, and control human perceptions are an integral part of this system. Who, or what, controls the system controls the people, and the level of control is increasing. There is no real freedom in such a system, just the illusion of it.

Does anyone else feel as though we are living in the end of days?
...So much has happened to humanity since the towers came down it feels like a new reality is starting to emerge and one that is completely alien to say the least.
...I ask you all what in God's name is happening to humanity, the earth and the world as we know it?

My personal theory...
Before the events of 9/11/2001, the world looked different than it does now. Since the world's attention was focused on war for ten years, the geological and political events that took place outside of our boarders went without notice. We were too focused on one specific set of events; thus, everything else in life had fallen out of focus. During the years 2009 and 2010, people started to shake off the feeling of complacency.

Where did all this start?
Between the years 1990 and 1999, people had become complacent because of the millennium milestone. Christian groups were looking forward to the possible return of Christ. Extremist religious groups were committing mass suicides, so they can get to heaven before the end of days. More children started to bring guns to school. Everyone was buying internet stocks, and others were trying to fix the Y2K bug. Even though the government was corrupt, people didn't care because they thought Christ would return.

Once the new millennium had finally arrived (1/1/2000), people realized they took their religious beliefs too literally. At the other end of the spectrum, some religious groups wanted to hasten Armageddon. As one group reflected on redefining their lives, the other group sought to bring the world to an end.

Here comes the kicker... When the internet switched over to forums and social networks (2001-2005), people started to fill their lives with others that shared their world view. Instead of embracing a world of diversity, they now gang up with like minded individuals. As a result of creating online forum cults, the world has become an intolerable place to live. Cult based opinions have become fact, and facts have become opinion. Even though history and science can be tested to establish truth, online forum and social network cults have decided to replace them with 'cult driven opinion'. It is no longer okay for people to think, drink, speak, or dress differently. Social networks have erased social tolerance and civility; thus, they have opened the door to public anarchy and chaos.

Technically, when humanity was about to evolve psychologically, online social networks and the events of 9/11/01 had put human evolution on hold. Humanity has cheated itself an opportunity to become something more, and it was all due to the rise of the internet and war.

When it comes to global and geological changes, they have always occurred on different levels. What makes them more pronounced is that the internet allows you to watch them in real time. Instead of hearing about an earthquake one or two days later, the internet have provided the means to get geological and global news instantly. Since you are now more aware of them, their existence has become more magnified. As a result of this 'good' internet feature, its negative side has started to surface. We now have fear mongering driven by a cult of personality. Even though geological and world events have been taking place forever, the internet has help hastened the doomsayer's and cult movements. Pure science, math, philosophy, and history are being dismissed, so that the events can fit into a perfect cult narrative. Wikipedia, Wikileaks, Facebook, and many other sites try to control the narrative. As a result of different social cult groups not agreeing, people started to physically conflict with one and other.

Get it?

My Prediction...
In order for society to evolve in science, math, and technology, the opinion aspect of the internet needs to be removed permanently. Instead of being a global forum for joining online cults, the internet must be replaced with an all access digital vault of human 'tested' knowledge. We have to tone out the opinions, so that we can re-establish our connection with tested and known facts. I think we are heading into this direction, and it is a good and healthy direction to take.

I didn't think anything of the 2012 prophecies .... but I'm starting to think it could be dead on accurate. The Muslim Brotherhood is taking over Egypt and the Middle East. They are radical .. they dont' want peace with Israel .. and they have openly stated their purpose is to bring in Sharia law. They will drag the middle east backwards a thousand years .. and take the rest of the world with them.

Well I don't think that is a good approach to take at all, how do you expand your knowledge or horizons, if you don't read anything you don't agree with or understand?
And what is wrong with reminding people that there have been worse times throughout history where people have also feared the end that never came, and I personally don't believe that the end is nigh?

It's ending. For the greater good.

Let go of the old world. Let it burn. You are now here to direct the new world. Direct away.

There are so many amazing posts on this thread.

Now, I have to go back and read all the posts again because I did not star them on my way through the first time. A labor of love.

It is the second thread on ATS that has given me such faith in my fellow man. Thank you.

And it is not because you agree with my paradigm...it's that you defended your own. Many stars to give....

Perhaps it is because you have lived in this world for a lot longer then i have. I just recently turned 18 and i feel like the world is a great place, sure injustice and horrors are abound but such would be expected in a less than perfect world. Eventually though it all evens out, and i see the world may soon emerge stronger and more united. As soon as China is fully awaken and the middle east sees its own renaissance the world should be in balance leading to all countries catching up in terms of technology and economic power.

OMGssssssssssss~!~

Nah,doubt it.

The world continues to turn, now, wether thats with or without us might be another question.

I dont think these times are anymore dangerous or unique, than the times our ancestors went through.
People must have screamed "Its the end of the world!!!" during the collapse of the roman empire, black plague,etc...

But humanity is still here.
Things are ALWAYS changing, and will continue too.
And life will continue, well until the sun decides to go mental and eat the earth.....but thats a very long time from now.

What I find unique in this day and age,is the ability to connect to everyone in the world at any given time and share ideas, and fear.
Gotta love the internet~!~

Paranoia and fear spreads through the internet like a virus, and people are reporting many things that seemingly add up to "the end". But its not.

Countries rise and collapse, its the order of things.

So sit back and enjoy your life, and worry not about the things you cant control, cause in the end, they will happen anyways.

It definitely feels like the end of days if you judge by the amount of craziness going on, with humans, animals and the planet. If nothing else, we are definitely living in interesting times.

Sure, but then American standard of living will decline. Which might not be so horribly bad except for the fact that our luxury keeps us comfortable and happy...modify that and people might...not be so happy.

No, the world isn't ending. Why does everyone think this because of current events? Do you not think the Jews might've believed the same when they were being slaughtered by the millions? Or perhaps the North Koreans may be thinking the same since millions are dying or starving to death because of their Communist government?

The riots mean nothing (in terms of the world ending). There have been numerous mass riots (and worse ones even right here in America) throughout history. This is not doomsday. Please calm down.

However, I've noticed that some people do NOT take the alleged "end days" seriously. These individuals are lighted-hearted and enjoy life to the fullest "now" and forget about any uncertainties, including the "future". They believe whatever happens is meant to be and thus cannot be avoided no matter how hard they try.

But the wiser ones would insist to always be prepared for the "rainy days". These individuals are serious. They will most surely close the doors on those who refuse to heed the many warnings of any upcoming doom and gloom scenarios. They deny being fearful or afraid of the "future" or death itself.

I wonder if there will be lots of "rain" in the future. I believe its will be another cleansing of the world --- to weed the sheep from the goat. Although I do not understand this Biblical analogy of animals, both "sheep" and "goat" are in the same "boat". (I rhymed here. Hehehe!)

I can't speak for anyone else, but as for why I believe the "world" is "ending" is not only because of current events. Its also because of mystical events. For instance, visions and such. But, I wouldn't expect a non-mystic to understand that.

I actually am familiar with Revelations. I also admit that there are many things going on that track. However, this is where it comes down to 'belief'. In return I mean no disrespect, because I actually think quite a lot along the lines of Elizabeth I and 'will make no windows into mens' souls', I'm just very wary of anything that is filtered through 'Religion', because Organized Religion is all just another greater part of the greater, overlaying consiparcy of man's control over other men. The Bible, no matter the version you read today was at one time or another filtered through The Roman Catholic Church. That fact in and of itself, causes it to be suspect to me, considering it's been abridged, approved, entire parts locked away in archives, and basically spun, folded and mutilated.

Ah, but there is a difference between religion and Christianity. Yes you are right when you say that religion is man made. But Christianity is from Christ not man or the Catholic church, churches regardless of denominations attach traditions through the ages. Christ's teachings are a double edge sword and never change.
Yes you are right when you say the bible has been translated many times and some even changed the writings to suit their own purposes, those that have done that will have to answer for changing the word of God come judgment. This is why Christ said we need to test the spirits.
It is important to compare the translated text to the old Hebrew and Greek to make the connection. Also this is where faith comes in to place trusting that God leads you to truth and He does.
When we allow ourselves to have faith we see and realize how God has preserved His Word.
Also we are not to judge men, that is for God to do. We are to look within ourselves to make sure that we are right with God.
Men will do what they do out of their stubborn sinful nature in rejection to their true Creator. They choose to rather follow the creature rather than their Creator.
This is the way of man and it's been this way for thousands of years, but now we have come to an age where it will eventually end. The world will not end just the evil that's in it.
