I say when the good cops start snitching on and taking down the bad cops, then maybe we help them out a little. Until then, investigate yourself, you allow these brutes to go around pushing people around and abusing authority, why should we help you?

It's mad easy to send an anonymous letter with all the info you have to give.
No name, No way of finding out.

Everyone makes out ok

If I witnessed a crime or saw something serious happen, It wouldn't even be a question, I would send an anonymous letter, it makes me laugh how paranoid some ppl are.

Exactly.

The police go down pubs and organise crimes with there friends for no reason other than hatred of others.

Police corruption is beyond belief.

So are you saying that there is zero accountability in the police force amongst the ranks?

I would have to disagree with that wholeheartedly. How many officers each year are investigated and found guilty by the Internal Affairs division? I believe the number is greater than zero. I know of a number of officers in my locale and surrounding municipalities that lost their jobs in the past 2 years with no chance of a pension or ever working in public service again. Because there were corrupt. they were found accountable and received punishment.

Of course there is not. The murder in 2009 g20 proved they closed ranks, and got away with murder.
What they have done to my life, will always make me wonder how many are done like me, in life by these people, that call them police, and gov.

There is no accountability, and never will be. There is too much corruption i reckon, and the police need it to make money.

Explain to me how i have never committed a crime, and never been arrested, and have had no privacy for 19 years, with these people perving into my life and telling all in sundry in our area about the goings on in our home.

A police man actually on a matter of something else, came into our home a few years back, and said to my mum, i would have more freedoms if i moved out of England and uk. What does that mean, and why are the police monitoring me and destroying my life at every turn. What did that policeman mean, when i have never committed a crime, and i have never been arrested by them ever for anything.

Why is the police in london doing this to my life?

Shows they are interested in only destroying lifes, and they have no accountability. These people have in effect murdered my life for what ever rubbish they made up. Clowns the lot of them, and just like how they got away with murder at g20, they have in effect murdered me.

Yeah, but on the flipside, it's mad easy to send an anonymous letter about my neighbor that just pissed me off as well. Make up all kinds of crap. Want to ruin someone you are pissed at? Send an anonymous letter about seeing that person touching some little kids, if they take it seriously enough to investigate, that person has the scarlet letter now. Take it further, put out a bunch of blogs when they get investigated and hope it goes viral.
Hope you never pissed anyone off though, because someone could do the same to you

I think, for a lot of people, how virtuous and civic-minded you are is in direct proportion to your ability to defend yourself and your family. I tell ya what, if you're in compton, and witness a murder, and you live that 'hood, and the killer does too, he's gonna stop by.

When you know the killer knows who you are, and would not hesitate to kill YOU, it kinda makes you think twice, huh?

We in the US have ways to take care of the criminals without calling the cops.

In many parts of the US we have WeTip hotlines and crime stoppers hotlines just to drop the dime with.

Most certainly does not make me think twice. The threat of violence against me does not deter me from virtuosity or civic mindedness. Changing one's stripes because of a threat of violence seems a little like cowardice to me. I will not be intimidated, in fact thats been already been tried in my life. Intimidation is just another form of assault on someone's freedoms, whether it be from a murderer, citizen or government agency.

If the killer, as you say, wants to stop by, then by all means stop by. For one I would expect for him to come, or send some lacky, so its not like it would be a surprise. Why are people so afraid of retribution?

Where does the fear come from?

Andy, once again I do understand your situation, so the question is not directed at you, your situation is more personal than anyone else here.

It is a universal sign of distress.

The fear comes from people that have their neighborhoods and communities taken over by gangs. These areas flooded with drugs and guns by design, areas even police would rather not have to go into unless forced. Areas that have a pawn shop and a liquor store on every corner. Areas that have the worse schools in the world. If you are not a gang banger, you are still all but trapped there, if you are lucky you get out VIA basketball or football. It is forced hopelessness and fear. You are stuck there even if you don't decide to get into the game. If you rat people out, you are ratting out your people, that have been oppressed the same as you.

your exact quote "These same people look at what is going on around them and decide to make a difference by changing the path their family is on."
so please, educate me on all these people who "changed their path" via education...

Look around you, they are all over. Are you looking for people who got rich? That is ridiculous. You do not have to be rich to live happy. If riches and fame are example you want then I can only mention The president of the United States Mr. Barak Obama, he was pretty poor as a lad yet he turned out very well.

If you want to look at real stories though of people getting out of the hood or the slums look around. People like that are everywhere. The average person you would not know if I mentioned names, so I can only assume you think riches are the only thing that can make a person happy or change their life. Just getting a job and buying things with legal money while creating a family is all one needs. Unless of course you are a materialistic, simple minded, shallow sheep.

I can tell ya, the first 6 years of my life were in a drug infested hellhole in CT. My pops busted his ass to get us out of that. Learned a craft, perfected the craft, and did what he had to do to get us out of that place. It is possible, but it is slanted against the possibility. A few years later he was harrassed to no end by the IRS thugs. Got away from the gangbangers, then got onto the legal thugs radar.... We made it, but it was a huge uphill battle. Not everyone is as strong as pops, physically, or mentally. He took so much crap from all kinds of people trying to keep us down, I am amazed he didn't go section 8.

I don't fully agree with you. I mean that there are certain crimes which should be reported no matter what the consiquences. But has anyone been on the stopsnitch website? I feel that it is intimidating people not to snitch. I don't like the police, and i feel they are not worth much, however, they do help slightly. And I hate the idea that people are trying to intimdate people not to talk about crimes. Not every crime is needed to be reported, but at the same time, some are needed to be reported. It just disgustes me. People need to think about this impartically.

I know it is hard and an uphill battle. If we believe we are trapped we are. If we understand the rest of the world (those above us) want us to believe we are trapped we can overcome the odds against us. The only thing that can stop you is death.

We may not become rich and famous, but we can change the life we have and that of our future family. It might not ever be great for the first out of the hole, but the next generation will have a better shot from then on out.

Allowing ourselves to fall into the trap of mind altering chemicals only hurts our chances of getting out of the hell we live in. Again we might not be anything other than a laborer but that is better than living in a slum and gives our children a better shot than we had.

What does not kill us only makes us stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally. Hard work only helps to build character. Expecting things to be handed to us only makes us weak.

A lot of feedback from the UK in this thread.

In the US, the snitch-culture is getting very bad. No, I would never want to stop anyone from telling what they know about a "real" crime, murder, rape, etc.

What I have to go through on a regular basis is horrific. I sell on eBay. They have chosen to enhance their business model by forcing their sellers to accept mainly PayPal payments. In order to get our funds out of PayPal in any timely manner, we are forced to buy money orders with our PayPal balance.

But there are rules in place now for trying to get your money if it exceeds $3,000. That of course is a ridiculously small amount for anyone who is doing serious legit business. And yet, I have to face some total idiot when I ask for a few money orders, because their default nowadays is to think you must be selling drugs! Insanity! No wonder the USA is in a massive depression. The snitch culture produced by "homeland" secure criminality is off the charts!

I absolutely hate these sniveling beasts, who have no idea what they are doing, and yet think it's AOK to have you drop your shorts so they can log you into their godsdamned book of infamy. I DETEST these ignorant fools, who think they are doing a wonderful job, as they play their parts in hamstringing the whole economy. Where did they come from? Apparently they were always there, waiting to be called upon. People among us who would sell their neighbors out for a pat on the back.

Screw your godsdamned new friggin' world order! I spit upon your stupid pathetic worthless minions!

I know exactly where this "stop snitching" bs all started. A couple of gang members shot into a park with a shotgun at rival gang members and killed a young girl playing innocently. One of the gang members involved mother started wearing the t-shirt during his court trial. He was sentenced to life in prison. His co-defendant was found not guilty...and is now imprisoned for, get this...homicide. OH, and for the third time.

Don't support this. If something like this happened to your loved one, you would "snitch."

Hang on a moment, i hear what you are saying in regards to the police and i know they set some people up. The police especially hate it when someone out smarts them, if you do that then good luck because they will set you up for something. The police service contains many good people who work hard to apply the law and who have a good set of principles, so lets not demonise them all. However there are plenty of officers who will break the law to get a conviction.Despite any of this though we are talking about a murder. Why exactly would anyone want to keep their mouth shut about such a serious crime?

This has nothing to do with snitching, this is about simple justice. We cannot allow a murderer to go free and if someone puts forward evidence to get a murderer convicted then i don't think they are a bad person for doing that.
