He did not get into the army he was rejected at MEPS which is the medical check you go to before your shipped to basic training...

Army knew something was not right with him.. In one of his youtube videos he said they gave him a *mini bible* and he did not put any religion affiliation down and that pissed him off a bit I guesse..

Agreed. And it's not the first time this woman incited this way of thinking, with her "cross hair" ad to target people. She's always been a sick pup. Anyone can see that by watching her on "Alaska".

I don't believe Sarah Palin has the cranial capacity to come with these ideas on her own, and even if she did, I'm sure it would require approval from "higher ups".

Consider this obviously inflammatory ad; and to that add that her TV series was canceled yesterday; and maybe you see the rug being pulled out from under her, finally. (Did anybody else see it coming?)

I think this was a shooting with at least one purpose, and Loughner was just another tool pulled out of the box.

There is certainly a lot of money at stake, but what purpose would be served by delaying the "Health Care" vote?

I have to assume this leads right into somebody's hand.

Well in exact theory he did not do anything military related. The army rejected him at the medical check.. Now this is speculation but maybe the docs picked up some sort of mental disturbance with jared and refused him because of that... The exact information as said in earlier posts is not known for privacy issues.

Has anyone ever thought that boards like ATS actually diminish violent acts?

People are social creatures and being able to talk to others can defuse emotions. Make one feel they are not alone.

Both in my opinion.

Boards like ATS also amplify and exasperate any underlying conditions people have.

It is true that in this day and age of technology you have more and more people with traits of autism, ocd, adhd and various depressive tendencies (bi-polar etc) and this may well be due to the fact that we simply do not go out and interact with each other any more (As a community).

I have finished reading all of Erad3's posts and I can see a pattern of heavy drug use over a period of time but I do not think it was related to Marijuana.

His posts exhibit signs of someone who is in an altered mental state - certainly reflective sentences are a sign of someone under the influence of something. If you look at one of the four threads he created, the way the thread is written indicates he was very much "off his head" to put it in layman terms.

I have witnessed a close friend deteriorate over time through drug use (strong mind altering drugs) and prescription abuse. He was an intelligent guy who became obsessed with various conspiracies until he could no longer function properly and was institutionalised after attacking his family members in a fit of rage.

I believe the only mind control here was the delusion of this Erad3 character, through heavy drug use and exposure to some pretty heavy topics on ATS (and other forums) he became trapped in some kind of mental state that escalated to the point where he was capable of shooting people.

From analysing his posts I would say he had some religious (biblical) influences which could have caused a delusion where he believed the congress woman and others on the day were some kind of perceived enemy.

This is not a dig at ATS or Christianity, just stating how any medium, can surface any underlying problems.

I also believe forums and the internet medium as a whole can also create problems in people where a person will become (over time) obsessive, compulsive and unsociable which can be detrimental to a persons state of being.

Thats not targeted as in palin said get a gun and shoot everyone... Targeting is a political term used as a way to say *this is where we need to get votes in and win* It has NOTHING to do with shooting up innocent people.. After reading through his shuttle thread it appears to be possible that he had a complex agenda in targeting Rep. Giffords.
