Sky are reporting that a car containing Prince Charles and Camilla has been attacked by students.

I would love to hear the driver/protection officer's explaination as to why the hell he drove the heir to the throne whithin a hundred miles of a protest like this?

I'm lost for words to be honest.

car just kicked...not really an attack in my opinion, but ya...things are slowly going out of control.

Its nighttime now...so I imagine the beer will be flowing and the scene will start getting a bit more rough as the night goes on.

Just to reply to your initial post - Students pay a higher price through taxes because they have better jobs......!!

With respect - bollocks to your point of view....!!!

Most entrepreneurs who put themselves and their finances on the line tend to be those who are prepared to risk all they have !!! Most entrepreneurs I come into contact with and work with tend NOT to be degree educated yet have EARNED ALOT of wealth through determination and hard graft.......!!

Alot of Students with Degrees who make good barristers / lawyers/ Bankers / AN other professionals are the ones who ''shaft'' you when you need advice and yet PREDOMINATELY these are the one's who OVER charge ''the people'' and then complain when things aren't going well......

Entrepreneurial sprit and RISK is what drives business and an economy !!! Suited professional career people help the machine but don't in the main create wealth !!!

I know this is a sweeping statement and there will be lots of examples of individuals who can dis prove what I have just said BUT in the main, if you think about it How many students are willing to use their OWN money or borrow based on their Entrepreneurial aspirations for the future.....!!!!!

Were the Bankers using their OWN money to gamble with or someone elses ???????

This subject REALLY annoys me !!

Regards

PDUK

so your saying someone who gets a good degree...and with this a highly paid job...isnt paying more taxes than he would had he not got this degree?

i know plenty of people make huge fortunes without a degree..of course they do...thats not really what we are talking about..

i cant understand people complaining on these boards about the protests...

ok..if you think people should pay their own way..fine..i do too actually..but thats not the point.

these peoples families have paid into a system for decades that promised them this education in return...thats the whole point of the social system in england...so why the hell shouldnt they be angry when they now get told all the money they have paid will now go to the banks?.

this is NOT about people being lazy or expecting something for nothing....its the opposite...its about expecting what youve been promised and paid for..

and..students who leave and get good jobs do pay more back....in higher taxes..all their lives.

These students have already have had the free education we pay for in taxes and were promised, until they're 18.

if thats the case then whats the need for the change of law?

look..im with you...i hate going to a lawyer and paying 300 pounds for some advice....when my parents payed for his education and his huge wages...but thats the system we have and the system have payed into..

if someone can promise me that taxes would be reduced as soon as students have to pay for themselves...fine...but they wont be...the taxes will stay the same..even be increased..AND more people will be made to pay more for everything else....we are simply all being expected to pay loads of taxes and getting ever less in return...wheres all this money going?

It IS the case. Everyone here has to pay for their university education by taking out student loans and paying back after graduating and earning, OR getting a part-time job.

I think they are protesting against being required to pay increased tuition fees.

The students are the ones who will benefit from their degrees, not me, not you, just them. Taxpayers already foot the bill until they're 18, it's ridiculous to expect more for free and burden us even more.

Wait till you have to go to some hot-shot young lawyer's swanky office for assistance in obtaining jjustice, only to be turned away because his fees look more like a telephone number

Obviously not.

They are saying now that it was just a small incident, students kicked the car when it was on the way to the London Palladium for the evening.

When an incident as big as this protest is going on just around the corner, and buildings as secure as the Treasury are being broken into, you still don't take a high profile principal to the theatre.

The part that really hacks me off about this is the following.

Previous labour government put in place a plan to get the vast majority of people into university to meet the coming skills issues that would be needed to take the UK into the 21st Century. then they brought in the fees. Now this government is tripling them.

But wait a second, lets clear up a point here. I have seen from previous posts. The Scots are not concerned with this as they still have free university places, subsidized from London, when they have their own parliament too. And it is only the English that have to pay, and now pay 3 x more, yet in Scotland it is still FREE.

I never went to Uni, nor have I found any need to. However for those that want to this is just another tool by the NWO to further pen people in, and keep them in the positions of wage slave. And will force many worthy people away from University, in favour of people who may be better well off, but maybe not so deserving intellectually. It's a complete reversal to the old class system.

Next they will be bring back the work and poor houses!!

Im sure Sir Charles & Her Whorship Camillia over rode any security thought on this matter and wouldnt take no for an answer.
Sir Charles had already planned for the house boy to be there for intermission and didnt want to miss out before he had to be returned to his Afgani Master.

To smash a lovely city up? Not so much your right IMO.

To build an ugly, man made den of Lords ruling over the peasants may not be lovely to those peasants. It may be a source of hatred against the wealthy.

There may be a whole lot more smashing going on, if things keep going down hill for most people. They will lash out at who or whatever they see as being their oppressors.

This may be the Armageddon we are taught to be afraid of. I am just not sure fighting and hurting people is the answer. Do we need to fight for the right to be benevolent, not under the control of a Government or a ruling class?

I have been reading about the cultural revolution in China. Communism is merely poor people rallying against a ruling class of people. The psychos just moved from serving the ruling class(also psychos) to becoming rulers themselves, they were not removed by the revolution.

hi

i just get the feeling that taxes rise and we get less and less in return and more and more goes 'somewhere'..i guess you know what thats called...working and giving all your wages to the state and getting hardly anything in return..

i can imagine some people having a similar discussion on this site in 5 years when people paying 70% tax and at the same time being told they have to empty their rubbish bins by themselves or pay extra...and someone saying..'bloody lazy slobs...get a life...its perfectly reasonable to sort out your own rubbish...'

as i said..ive got absolutely nothing against people paying for themselves...but taxes have to be reduced at the same time..otherwise its just plain theft...or a sort of communism...

Only because they earn more.

Tax will be calculated in proportion to the earnings. They'll pay no more, and no less than they should pay.

At 18 they're adults - they should act like adults and pay their own way once past the age of majority like the rest of us have to.

OR get their families to fork out - BECAUSE I AND OTHER TAXPAYERS DONT WANT TO!

exactly...more pay due to their degree equals more tax due to their degree...they pay more back than they would have otherwise done.

I hear ya

Taxes will never be reduced, that only happens in la-la land.

We will always get less and less in return for what we pay in taxes, and there seems to be corruption and greed everywhere in politics and the rest.

Politics drives me crazy, a bunch of hypocritical big-mouths who live to tell us what to do with our lives while doing just what they like with their own. Take our hard-earned cash in taxes and won't give us a say in how they spend it.

Better go before I head into a 1st class rant lol.

Just looking at the state of the Royal car. More than just the odd kick apparent.

Smashed glass and paint all over the car.

It's a simple equation that free education benefits mankind.

If you give as much people access to knowledge as possible there will be more creative minds at work with a higher potential to advance. If you limit those numbers the advancement of your civilization is far smaller and limited. Limitations would come from the fact that the rich would have far more options to exploit their knowledge for financial gain. And commercialize ideas potentially on a larger scale. Even if a certain percentage would be involved in open source technology it will still be meaningless as there wouldn't be a semi educated market that would be able to explore the open source.

Perhaps one might say that if the will is strong enough to learn one can achieve anything by working and doing. That's the American dream which might be true for a few but any mathematician can see that the odds of discovery in science by educating the mass is just beneficial for everyone.
