See what happens when people have to pay their own way, I feel no sorrow for any of them.
This world wide issue of "Give Me, Giv Me, Give me because Im a living, breathing person so Im entitled to it, has to end.
Change into your big boy/girl pants, pull yourself up by your boot straps and have some self respect and not the kind you have to go out and buy from the approving Masters.

Being a full time student doesnt show how smart you are at the end, but truely how freaking dumb you really are!!!!

When these people are fully qualified and raking in ££££thousands a year as lawyers or whatever, why shouldn't they pay back the cost of their tuition fees? They'll soon be in a position to afford it.

And why can't they get some kind of part time work to get themselves through university? It won't kill them.

PAY FOR YOUR OWN CAREER QUALIFICATIONS - YOU'RE THE ONES WHO WILL DIRECTLY BENEFIT FROM IT

Feel free to ignore anything the Americans say about how you have been handling education.

Your not perfect, but your doing it -far- better than the states over here.
Consider any criticism from those below you to be laughable..like a poor man telling a rich man how to invest.

Best way to discredit a movement is to join the movement, then discredit yourself.

I am sick and tired of these Pathetic Demo's.....

Firstly - I never went to further education, I have done alright without a degree. I employ people and have interviewed many student / graduates and realised that VERY few have the 'Basic' skills you would expect.

Someone earlier said ''it is the Gimme gimme culture'' and that comment is so CORRECT !!!

The world owes you nothing, YOU have to take RESPONSIBILITY and get on with it.....

If you get a higher paid job because you have a degree - excellent but why should i, as a UK taxpayer who Never went to University have to pay for some students who study irrelevant degrees and are just hell bent on causing problems....

You then get the President of the National Union of Students saying the trouble is being caused by trouble makers...... STOP abstaining from responsibility and blaming someone else......

I hope the Police KICK the Stuffing out of some of these idiots....... I might go down and help because I am sick and tired of these people complaining.......

MAYBE they should watch that video on another THREAD about Palestine and roadblocks and count their Lucky bloody stars.......

i cant understand people complaining on these boards about the protests...

ok..if you think people should pay their own way..fine..i do too actually..but thats not the point.

these peoples families have paid into a system for decades that promised them this education in return...thats the whole point of the social system in england...so why the hell shouldnt they be angry when they now get told all the money they have paid will now go to the banks?.

this is NOT about people being lazy or expecting something for nothing....its the opposite...its about expecting what youve been promised and paid for..

and..students who leave and get good jobs do pay more back....in higher taxes..all their lives.

I am for one glad, that now others are being shafted as i was in uk schooling.

I told you your marching would do nothing, the ptb just listen to a percentage of people, and not the masses.

The U.S. used to lead the world in the quality of its higher education. That is, alas, no longer true. A degree, even one from a top school, can be purchased, and those who cannot afford it just do not get educated. Yes, there are the less expensive community colleges, but degrees from them are not valued nearly as highly in the job market, and many cannot afford even those.

America has always been a country where higher education was essentially for the rich and/or well-connected, therefore perpetuating the class system that is not supposed to exist here.

Video showing police charging at students on horseback.

Students then attacked by police, then retaliate with thrown objects.

www.bbc.co.uk...

You may have to look on the list to the right for the vid.

Well. thats it then.

From a disassociated standpoint, I do think that a good education should be paid back when it can be afforded to do so. If it helped you get financial security, then sure.

These students have already have had the free education we pay for in taxes and were promised, until they're 18.

They are being asked to pay for their own further education once they are qualified and earning their high-end salaries. It isn't being unreasonable in my opinion. In a few years these tuition fees will seem like a drop in the ocean.

If ya want it bad enough - work for it and earn it. What's wrong with that?

And when they are qualified and earning high salaries, they will be paying the same percentage of income tax as the rest of us pay, not more.

Instead of protesting and possibly getting a police record they could be looking for a job/earning a few quid.

if thats the case then whats the need for the change of law?

look..im with you...i hate going to a lawyer and paying 300 pounds for some advice....when my parents payed for his education and his huge wages...but thats the system we have and the system have payed into..

if someone can promise me that taxes would be reduced as soon as students have to pay for themselves...fine...but they wont be...the taxes will stay the same..even be increased..AND more people will be made to pay more for everything else....we are simply all being expected to pay loads of taxes and getting ever less in return...wheres all this money going?

They have smashed their way through the bomb proof windows of the Treasury now, lots of police will be in there though, good luck to any that are brave enough to make it through that window.

Lets just say they'll have a headache in the morning.

Just to reply to your initial post - Students pay a higher price through taxes because they have better jobs......!!

With respect - bollocks to your point of view....!!!

Most entrepreneurs who put themselves and their finances on the line tend to be those who are prepared to risk all they have !!! Most entrepreneurs I come into contact with and work with tend NOT to be degree educated yet have EARNED ALOT of wealth through determination and hard graft.......!!

Alot of Students with Degrees who make good barristers / lawyers/ Bankers / AN other professionals are the ones who ''shaft'' you when you need advice and yet PREDOMINATELY these are the one's who OVER charge ''the people'' and then complain when things aren't going well......

Entrepreneurial sprit and RISK is what drives business and an economy !!! Suited professional career people help the machine but don't in the main create wealth !!!

I know this is a sweeping statement and there will be lots of examples of individuals who can dis prove what I have just said BUT in the main, if you think about it How many students are willing to use their OWN money or borrow based on their Entrepreneurial aspirations for the future.....!!!!!

Were the Bankers using their OWN money to gamble with or someone elses ???????

This subject REALLY annoys me !!
