A valid point that most ignore. Most "US citizens" are actually citizens of their states. The federal government was originally only given "control" over citizens actually living in the District of Colombia since it was specifically set aside as a federal enclave. This part of our history has been effectively ignored and repressed.

The solution to this problem would be the appearance on the scene of an organization that goes one better than the anti-war, alternative media and produces 'smoking gun', officially documented evidence of government lies and deception. Such evidence would, after all, come from the horse's mouth, a veritable admission of guilt from the wrong-doers themselves rather than accusations from third-party alternative news web sites. Re-read Anna Salter's description of the pedophile she was interviewing above to get a real picture of the pathology at work here. The deception, of course, lies not in the release of official documents, but in the use of those documents, which in themselves do not constitute high crimes, as a cover to promote the same big government lies. I submit that, based on the clear evidence, Wiki-leaks is just such an organization and is designed to fulfill just such a role: the dissemination of Plausible Lies.

I'm guessing this is your not so clever way to avoid answering a valid question. What gives people the right to think they are entitled access to classiied information? If you want access, then get a job in a related field that brings you into contact with this information.

Absent that, particiapte in the political process to hold our elected leaders responsble if you dont like the manner they do their job. The argument some people make you would think they have a right to walk into a bank and demand financial records of someone just because they feel their entitled to know.

Just like the above example, the release of the information is illegal, in addition to being in possesion and distributing it. This is not a hard concept to understand.

You guys want the release of this information to hold people accountible, while at the very same time ignoring the fact the info was illegally aquired and released.

So its ok for someone to steal and release calssified information - breaking the law

But its not illegal to receive the information and distribute it.

Yeah.. thats a logical argument... /end sarcasm


That would work in a world where the government was not corrupt. In this case such an idea has become fantasy. You don't even get to choose what politics the country has because it is decided in advance by the shadow government...the one that JFK referred to and challenged, and which , as a result, got him assassinated.

I don't believe these accusations. People don't understand his strategy. They want evidence of serious crime to be leaked (forgetting that Assange can only publish information which whistleblowers send to him). They don't understand that he is trying to undermine their ability to sustain their secrecy..

Any time there is any bill taking away rights, condoning illegal gov activity, gov secrecy, you will ALWAYS see his name at the top of the list, signing away. lol.

Liberman is such an idiot.
It's already illegal to release classified documents. You have to have a security clearance to gain access to said documents, and in part of that agreement you agree to NOT release documentation and plethora of other agreements. You also agree to be held liable and subject to federal prosecution if you are caught leaking them.

Julian Assange didn't really do anything wrong here..he's an opportunisitic journalist. Private Manning (who actually breached the system and leaked them TO Julian...as well as the Iraqi and Afghan war diaries) who is guilty here. And he's locked up awaiting prosecution. Manning will do his time.

As mentioned before anyway - even if this does pass, since when did America become the world police?
I'm not worried about it.

How about your 'undercover neighborhood watchers'? They release information about citizens to the force, isn't this basically the same concept? Looks like everyone on watch duty is now illegal, even cops!

That may be fine, but understand that they are in public positions entrusted by the society they represent. Thus it is their obligation to be transparent to the society they claim to represent.

Your thinking may work in a dictatorship, but should not be considered when speaking on behalf of others, the way governments represent themselves to be doing.

This is what I hate about our country right now:

1> There are those that believe the government is in the right because they protect us and are our so called "representatives." That their appointments, discussions, and actions should be kept secret, under lock and key.

2> Those that believe the government should be transparent, truthful, and keep nothing from us. The government is not to be trusted without supervision, almost like a child in a candy shop.

By all means, each has their point and a valuable argument to make. And of course, there's also those in the middle that don't care.

However all this just causes arguments. If we really want something done, everyone has to work together, or enough of us to make change. And you think the law makers really listen to us? We say we're a Representative Democracy, but I sure see a lot of hands dipping into things they shouldn't be in (Social Security, I'm talking about you).
And I would love to think the lawmakers would listen to us, but that just isn't how it's working. We've been brought up in a Corporate Elective, or a money based elective system. We don't choose our president's, the parties do. And the parties choose the lackey with the best face on him and listens and lies the best.
After the parties choose from all those canidates, sure you can choose someone else, but being Democrat or Republican you're gonna vote for your canidate, who's been carefully chosen by a group of money grubbing company owners.
Without your 2 million dollars, you can't get a chance to be elected. I side by no party. And no, I'm not a liberal. And no, I'm not a conservative either. Labeling yourself is just going to split us even further. If we're going to be the UNITED STATES, we better stay UNITED.
So how can 19% of the population represent the rest when they know nothing about them?

First, we have to work together. You can't have a revolution by yourself.

Julian Assange is releasing information that is both embarrassing and detrimental to US colonialism.

Letting the American people know that Pakistani army, largely funded by the American taxpayer, is helping terrorists in Afghanistan kill American soldiers is not a threat to national security, its a threat to public opinion.

Letting the American people know that American helicopters are being shot down by Afghanistani forces is not a threat to national security. Its an eye opening reality to a bull# war.

Letting the American people know that we killed 150 innocent Afghan's huddled into small building trying to avoid a fire fight is not a threat to national security, its a threat to public opinion.

The information he is trying to release right now is not a threat to public opinion. Its a threat to the stability of the known world.

Some serious corruption and political scandals are going on right now and Assange is trying to release them.

Very good points! It is my opinion that absolutely NO ONE should be elected into a federal position unless they FIRST have served in the military either voluntary or through the draft! This would ensure that government is run by people who know what it means to fight and serve your country and thus stop all these SUPERFICIAL EXCUSES to go to war on a moment's notice.

The old kings of europe may have been just as ruthless as today's "leaders" are but at least they fought alongside their troops on the battleground.

The main problem as I see it, is that the federal government has been corporatised and as a result ALL THE STATES have also been corporatised as a direct result of this.

I disagree with what your trying to imply in this statement: "the federal government was originally only given control over citizens ACTUALLY LIVING IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA since it was set aside as a federal enclave". I belive the term *federal government* directly/indirectly implies it DOES HAVE JURISDICTION over all member states, regardless what the constitution says.

When we say federal government it implies the highest form of government for any given nation! Attributes such as corrupt/uncorrupt, has a corporate indentity or natural identity, capitalist/sociallist/communist economic system, a republic or democracy, etc is of secondary importance.

You are incorrect. The various states are sovereign entities. Originally the federal government was only to handle foreign affairs and interstate commerce. All functions not SPECIFICALLY GIVEN to the federal government in the constitution were RESERVED UNTO THE STATES and THE PEOPLE. This is why our current federal government is unconstitutional.

Now the 14th amendment is seen to change that, but the 14th amendment was only supposed to protect the newly released slaves. Instead, we have the current travesty.


1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.




The ratification of the 13th Amendment was a major victory for the North, and it was hoped that with the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment, the effects of slavery in the United States would quickly diminish. The original plan to readmit states after acceptance of the 13th was supported by President Andrew Johnson, but the Radical Republicans, as they became known, wanted more than just a return to normalcy. They wanted to keep the power they had attained during the war years. The South did not make it easy for Johnson, however, and the so-called Black Codes started to be passed in Southern states. Congressional inquiries into the Black Codes found them to be a new way of controlling ex-slaves, fraught with violence and cruelty.

The ensuing Reconstruction Acts placed the former CSA states under military rule, and prohibited their congressmen's readmittance to Congress until after several steps had been taken, including the approval of the 14th Amendment. The 14th was designed to ensure that all former slaves were granted automatic United States citizenship, and that they would have all the rights and privileges as any other citizen. The amendment passed Congress on June 13, 1866, and was ratified on July 9, 1868 (757 days).


The original purpose of the 14th amendment has been so perverted as to render it unrecognizable. This is one amendment that, in my opinion, needs to be repealed.

If he wants to call for assassination on America's free speech & on Julian Assange then we have the right to call for his assassination too. The dog calls himself an American too. The United States would do better without this blight that plagues us.
