Being proud of one's skin color is like being proud of a blue shirt. Specifically the color blue, and not any other particular qualities of the shirt or its material construction.

In a word, ridiculous.

It certainly is racist for a white person to be proud of their skin color. However, it is also racist for the other races to be proud of their skin color as well.

so what every one including your self is saying is that, since white people (caucasians) have never gone threw hard ships that they have no right to be proud? so when the people of england were being oppressed by their leaders and created the declaration of independence that does not count? so the scottish were never oppressed by their leaders? and the fact that a large amount of non whites in the world hate whites for something that our fore fathers did and we (the whites of the present) had nothing to do with?

so pride can only be had if oppression had been done to ones self? i think this theory is just racist. i think that EVERY ONE has the right to be proud of who they are, what they look like and where they are from.

this theory does not make sense since my daughter is half white, a quarter black and a quarter vietnamese. she has no pin pointed culture (besides american culture) (but looks white) so does she get to only be half proud? does she only get to be a quarter proud of her asian heritage, a quarter proud of her black heritage and non-proud of her white heritage? and i may be white but my heritage is slovakian, portuguese and dutch. so am i only allowed to be proud of my portuguese heritage? and that would mean that my daughter is only 2/3rds white. so how would that work?

i think that one race/heritage has the right to something but not an other is a racist statement. i can be proud of being white without oppressing any other race. now a days whites are growing up being told that being white is bad. which is as racist as it gets.

so im going to teach my daughter to be proud of her black, vietnamese, portuguese, dutch, slovakian heritage and to not be racist...... cuz thats just not PC.

It's not. We're all Americans. if you we're born here, you're an American. Not an African American, European American, Mexican American, ect. Just an american. If you wan't to take pride in your heritage, go for it. Not a thing wrong with it. If someone has a problem with it, **** 'em.

There's nothing wrong with white pride EXCEPT that everyone who seems inclined to identify with it is a racist. White pride is something the KKK, Aryan Brotherhood, etc.

I'm white but I'm not interested in white pride. Race is really unimportant me. But for anyone who thinks their race is a major part of their identity, I see no problem with them celebrating "white pride." I would just hope their pride in their RACE doesn't become RACIST.

So what you're saying, in essence, is that everyone is racist then. Having their own holidays, black history month, etc etc.

I just don't understand why African Americans and Spanish Americans are allowed to celebrate their heritage but we are not. Are we so entrenched with the title of "oppressor" that we have to sit idly by while others celebrate their heritage and we cannot?

You have a good point. The term "White Pride" has a bad rap due to White Supremacy movements. If people have an issue with me saying and showing "White Pride", I then have to take issue with the term "Black Power".

Screw this politically correct bs. Thats what has screwed this country. So worried about hurting someones feelings, it puts our actions in bondage.

Intent is all that should matter.

Lets see, The New Black Panther Party, American Nazi Party, Zionist Jew Party,ect ect ect....should I go on
there's plenty more where those come from. Culture is an on going thing and to me they all look like they are headed for a world of S@#T! Even if we became one color there would be the short party, the tall party, the smart party, the stupid party....oh wait we already belong to that one


P.S. keep your culture at home where it belongs, I don't want to celebrate it on any day or month, your not special

Why is it wrong?

I don't know if its wrong, I think of it as "silly".

Most people celebrate their ethnicity when someone has taken their national pride from them. African Americans have a hard time tracing their roots back, thus I would never dream of denying them the right to celebrate their heritage as best they can, bacially the slave trade left them without much choice in that regard. Caucasions on the other hand have an easier time tracing back their heritage and thus you a whole host of summer celebrations,like "Italian days" or "Irish days", Polish fests etc.

"White power" pleas always come across to me as petty, like a child who who sees the kid across the street and wants what he has.

To all the whiny people wondering why Blacks and Latinos and Asians and whoever can celebrate their culture but poor oppressed white people can't, wondering why there's a BET but no WET, wondering about your "hardships" because of affirmative action, etc, listen up:

There's no "special" place for your "cultural celebrations" because pretty much all of what we call Western culture is one big celebration of...well, whiteness.

There is no special history month to learn about white achievements because when you take a general history course (at least here in America), white achievements are pretty much all you learn about.

There is no special channel dedicated to featuring stories specifically about whites because when you watch regular broadcast television, almost every show is dominated by stories about white people -- even casts with a lot of racial diversity still almost always feature white main characters. Take Lost for example. Lots of racial diversity on that show (compared to normal television). But with the exception of three important secondary characters (Sun, Jin and Sayid), all the main important characters were white (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Ben). The one black character on South Park is named Token for a reason.

As to these imaginary hardships brought on thanks to "affirmative action," I have to laugh. The vast majority of wealth and power in this country (and world) is in the hands of white people. In 2000, black households on average were worth $6,166, compared with $67,000 for whites, according to census data. The inequality is actually worse now. Affirmative action really hasn't helped people of color advance. Which means if you're white you're probably not being oppressed because of it. Maybe, you didn't get that job because you suck and the black guy was just better. If you're a white male and you can't parlay centuries of white male privilege into some kind of success here in America, then the problem isn't affirmative action, it's you.

Is there a white culture? i cant find it. culture goes more related to nations, regions, religions, ideals, tendencies, even sexuality, but not exactly skin.

Sometimes in History "skin" has produced culture basically in order to legit some form of opression over other colors, or to defend one color against others pressures.

The OP was making a point about the bias of information. Half the people that suffered in the Halocaust were not Jewish, yet you never hear of them. There were more free black slaveholders per capita than white slaveholders. Substantial portions of slaves chose to be sold into slavery instead of going to African prisons, or chose to be slaves as indentured servants in return for their freedom years later. This is an elitist thing, not a race thing.

There is no shame in being white, and "white power" is no more offensive than "black power" or "hispanic power" or whatever you want to call it. The world is controlled by very vocal minorities with lots of money and powerful lobbyists, not the majority i.e. the Average Joe. I live in the city. I hear far more racism coming out of the mouths of minorities than whites, buy you don't hear that stuff.

Yep. While i understand where he is coming from, its quite obvious he is a White Power advocate. Slamming Jews and then demanding respect for whites in the same sentence.

Id absolutely love to see the "proof" he has of Jews being soley responsible for the slave trade. It will probably come off of Stormfront.

I think what the original poster is talking about is the fact that in modern American society, with Multiculturalism, Diversity and other buzzwords created by social engineers and hammered into our brains day in and day out over various media outlets, its more than okay to display "black pride", "asian pride" or "latino pride", but the moment that a white person even hints at the notion of "white pride" he's automatically labelled a hate-filled, racist, Neo-Nazi.

White people do have a culture, but its one that most people are being taught to ignore and forget by this multiculturalist meme that pervades our culture. Nobody stops to ask the question, if all this diversity and multiculturalism is so great, why do they have to brainwash everyone into thinking so? White culture is being destroyed by the reframing of the meaning of our achievements. The current popular belief in America is, for example, that white people came to the Americas from Europe, and then "stole" the land from the indigenous population. By a simple mental trick, the viewpoint of the victim is embraced and elevated. However, from another perspective, it could also be said that white people came to the Americas from Europe and "conquered' the land, which is the perspective of the conquerer. As long as our culture is made to see things from the eyes of the victims, things will continue to deteriorate into the ultimate goal of multiculturalism, a world where everyone enshrines victimization, and in so doing, opens the way for those who enshrine conquest to accomplish their ends.

That is about as racist as anything else that has been done. Those who claim white people are racist are equally if not more so racist themselves.
