According to that video - "He [Moses] wrote these things down on parchment just like this - - - - "

Now dude if that is shown to children then it's an outright lie! (not unusual for christians) there is no evidence that moses even existed let alone wandered around a wasteland for 40 years with 300000 to 2 million escaped bonded slaves.

I was putting emphasis on the first video actually... the second video was for a quick crash course for anyone really so they may be up to date and familiarize themselves better with a subject they wish to attack...

I recommend a King James version

I believe Moses was a Sumerian and was favored by ENIL and ENKI, and was the leader of a group of Mercenaries charged with protecting the Egyptian people. The Bible story has Moses and his army "well armed."

Although I'm not unwilling to engage with you in discussion of this very interesting subject including moses being a remnant of elArmana priesthood or a claimant the Pharonic throne etc. I think we could perhaps both agree what moses doesn't appear to have been and that's a fully fledged jew buddy of the yahweh god wandering around the desert for 40 years.

I recall the armed men to have been 300000 in number, so they could not possibly have been poor bonded slaves. If even that figure is correct then it cause a huge problem with Egyptian infrastructure as her population around the time has been estimated at 3 million.

Anyhoo I don't want to go too far off topic suffice to say the bibles talk BS about an exodus of huge volumes protojew slaves and one Moses being their governor.

Well now, I do somewhat believe the story of wondering in the desert, Yahweh is known to be a very cruel being, and this is something he would do. Let us take a hard look at Yahweh. The highest heavenly creatures are called Seraphim, a word which the highly esteemed and scholarly Jewish Encyclopaedia states means "fiery flying serpent", though medieval Christians have transformed these "dragons" into the more familiar, swan-winged, "cartoon" angels of popular culture. When the ancient Jews translated the word Seraphim into Greek, the word they used was "Drakon," which is the word our modern "dragon" is derived from. The universal flood story of Genesis is believed by most Biblical scholars to be a "retelling" of near identical, yet far older Sumerian versions in which the God name Enlil, who is also subservient to a greater Creator God is called "a Great Serpent-Dragon of Heaven". His hymns also associate him with rainbows as we see in Genesis, and he is called "the good shepherd". Almost every world culture has identified the winged intelligent dragon as a real creature, and most of the earliest cultures recognize it as the creature that brought them knowledge of agriculture and technology. This is also true in the Judaic legends with the reptilian "Watchers". He is specifically described spewing fire from his mouth and smoke from his nostrils, exactly like the dragon like Leviathan that the Bible states he "plays" with. (A Female Dragon? A Dragonette?) There is a lot more to Moses than anyone knows, that is for certain.

Indeed, perhaps an an amalgam of characters

You read Ralph Ellis or Ahmed Osman ?

It would appear that the Egyptians did record an Exodus perhaps two or more over a period, this being from Armana/Ahketaten in relation to the Pharaoh Akhenaten during whose reign was the first recorded incident of monotheism .

The similarities with the Armana cult and that of Yahwhe appear to be far too significant to ignore.

(fiery flying serpent) this is total metaphor imo...

Fire = catches ones gaze/attractant/feels warming.
Flying = fast/ wings represent 'speed' (top bottom and sides) meaning in all directions/subjects
Serpent = double speak/forked tongue/deceiver

?

------

now take these passages direct from Wiki and one can plainly see they are not talking about a Dragon. Taking also into account that "Beasts" represent nations.

* Deuteronomy 8:15 "Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;"

* Numbers 21:6-8 "(6) And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. (7) Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. (8) And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live."

* Isaiah 14:29: "Do not rejoice, all you of Philistia, because the rod that struck you is broken; for out of the serpent's roots will come a viper, and its offspring will be a fiery flying serpent."

* Isaiah 30:6: "The burden against the beasts of the South. Through a land of trouble and anguish, from which came the lioness and the lion, the viper and the fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches on the backs of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people who shall not profit;"

This entire page is off topic. This thread is not in regards to the finer points of either Christianity, or your twisted form of reconstructed evangelical xtianity. Your inability to remain on topic is typical of most xtians...it is why most Christians do not want much to do with you. It is also the very reason why you and your kind need to be kept as far away from critical societal decision making processes at all costs.

Dude Control is right, as much as I find your banter engaging we're going way too far off topic which is -

what delusion ? you sir do not even know the game well enough to refute... I am simply providing insight maybe to better help your right-handed self, you should not show fear and anger you should be more open. I find it to be on topic since I was pointing out some of the possible metaphor the the righties looping hemisphere just can not grasp.

you see I can tell which hand people are by just reading their type mostly cause the train of thought is like this big loop that keeps coming around on itself, I consider it a glitch in the programming.

With their communications link severed, each side of the patient's brain was functioning independently. Although this did not prevent his ability to walk, talk and eat, some unexpected findings were encountered in some of the higher brain functions when each side was examined independently of the other.

The right hand and eye could name an object, such as a pencil, but the patient could not explain what it was used for. When shown to the left hand and eye, the patient could explain and demonstrate its use, but could not name it. Further studies showed that various functions of thought are physically separated and localized to a specific area on either the left or right side of the human brain. This functional map is consistent for an estimated 70 to 95 percent of us.

my religion instructs me to love damaged people too so I must...

And I am not accusing you of being damaged I am although only making a statement of the left hemispheres lack of vision, you can name things all you want but the right hemisphere will tell you what its used for.

What do you know about those of us who are ambidextrous?

Just curious, but your insight thus far has been spot on.

I don't think anyone is truly ambidextrous since it has been proven that higher functions of the brain reside in each hemisphere independently.

I take this as a comment to Cosmic.Artifact, and I support it 100%. A later Artifact post on brain-hemisphere synchronization demonstrates this further.

Whatever the reasons or motives are for this flittering around (total lack of concentration, navel-gazing or debate-tactical distractions), it's completely pointless. I can understand the occasional need for a digression into 'existential tools', which can help to clarify obscure points, but an analysis of Djin's, Artifact's own or for that sake politically ambitious christians' brain-hemisphere functionality is so far removed from the topic, that it's worthless. And that Artifact seems unable to find his way back 'home' again, doesn't make it better.

So Artifact, start a thread on brain-hemisphere synchronization (though I suggest you do some homework on the subject first) or try to relate to the present topic instead of being the Von Däniken of socio-religious contexts.

I am just being a fair voice of reason, I can smell a troll a mile away and the way some people (I won't name names) institute their own facts to try to make it sound as if it were rock solid, I can not help but to call it out.

You guys can sit around here all you want convincing yourselves of your own truths, giving eachother support to your very own delusions.

I am a lefty yes and Justice is my motto !

Re Cosmic.Artifact

You wrote:

"I am just being a fair voice of reason,"

you mean reason like in 'logic' or being reasonable in a social context?

As to the logic (and if you start from any religious doctrine) even hard-headed promoters of religion would tell you, that logic comes second to faith. Sometimes logic is even abolished by faith. If you're reasonable in the meaning of social context, you would accept competing systems and restrict the degree of invasive methods used by missionaries.

Christianity has a long, sad and bloody history of invasions behind it. That shame isn't erased because contemporary extremist christians reluctantly are forced to accept secular laws, while at the same time constantly trying to undermine them. The extremist guys simply have a bad name amongst non-christians, and there's nothing you can do about it, except demonstrating your willingness to live and let live.

You wrote: "You guys can sit around here all you want convincing yourselves of your own truths, giving eachother support to your very own delusions."

Our delusions consist mostly of warding off threats to liberal, non-elitist democratic society.

You wrote: "I am a lefty yes and Justice is my motto !"

And ........?

From your next post:

" so am I supposed to take this a some kind of jealousy issue ? maybe you being a left-hemisphere kinda fellow you do not have the ability to do this...

and get this, I am not even a troll !

I think you should start practicing using your opposite side for awhile"

Just for the fun of it, and then the end of this side-issue on my part. I have successfully been using a methodology of brain-hemisphere synchronization for more than ten years now, and I have studied psychology at university a couple of years, including some theory on the subject. So why should I be jealoux of you?

How do your somewhat peculiar questions justify christian political ambitions, bend in the direction of 'education of the masses' to christian values?
