It lasts a day. And North Korea can't really back down now... they'll look too much like pussies. Not to mention they have moved a lot of military hardware on the border.

Also China's MSM is already blaming the US and South Korea for the upcoming war.

Rresidents of South Korean islands told to move to bunkers - Reuters less than a minute ago via breakingnews.com

EDIT : Word is that all reserves in the South Korean army were called for duty.

So... they really think war is about to break out.

EDIT 2 : Also it is being reported that a LOT of activity is taken place on the North Korean side of the DMZ.

Well if north korea knows an all out war will start don't you think they know they will loose??

North k. has to know they don't have the upper hand..

Kim jong il does not want to *loose what he has* that is his life and his families life legacy ruling North k with an iron fist...

I know kim is crazy but I don't think their wanting to commit suicide...

Also american MSM is not speaking a word of this..

Like nothing is going on......

Or is it all hot air cos nobody has got the balls to stand up for themselves?

As I explained earlier on this thread, the regime won't commit suicide knowingly. They will do it by thinking it will only be a limited skirmish and then it will get out of control and boom it will be full scale war before Little Kim knows it.

well it appears SK is gonna call NK out..

exactly lets see if NK gets punked or what.

Also not cool considering we are in a position that will perhaps antagonize the use of nukes.. This is a very negative situation and not at all excited in a way to where this war will make things better. It will all be downhill..

The last time I felt like this was the Cuban missile crisis, and I was only worried then because of my Dad explaining it to me.

I am really really hoping that someone blinks here......

China and Russia side with N. Korea

China and Russia have defended and supported the North’s provocations and unreasonable demands. In the wake of the North’s sinking of the South Korean naval vessel Cheonan in March, Beijing defended Pyongyang at the U.N. Security Council, leading to the adoption of a presidential statement that merely criticized the attack without naming North Korea as the perpetrator. Though Pyongyang defied the council, which urges a halt to the North’s nuclear weapons development, by making public its uranium enrichment facilities, Beijing and Moscow did nothing.

And Chinese MSM already blaming the US-ROK for war ain't good.

Four Multi-role Frigates and two air defense destroyers from Canada will meet up with an undisclosed contingent of Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy vessels for what is assumed to be preparations for action on the Korean Peninsula. The UK, Canada and Australia have some 90 Fast-Attack aircraft that can be deployed with 24 hours to the Korean Theater. The Canadian and Australian Airforces operate the F18s while the UK deploys the Tornado. Allied forces could double the available Naval power in the theater by the end of the year with over 1000 Front-line Allied Aircraft deployed by South Korea, the U.S. and other allies. The sheer volume of Western Forces in the Region signals an inevitable war. Not in the last 55 years has their been such a large Western Military Build-up in the Korean peninsula.

And what the hell is freaking Canada doing there? I know they were part of the UN force but come on now. Freaking stupid Harper. I won't submit to a draft, they can go screw a goat.

S.Korean, U.S. Militaries on High Alert Ahead of Artillery Drill

South Korean and U.S. forces are standing by in emergency mode after wrapping up a plan Friday to deal with any further provocations by North Korea as an artillery drill on Yeonpyong Island looms.

People in Seoul are all preparing themselves to go to the air raid shelter at a moment notice.

nukes are a very permanent act.
there is a slim chance we will use them.
Standard strategies would be used first.
Nukes would leave the area useless and without value.

Despite this being a fridgid cold winter, I am against the wasting of our national resources on free heating for N.Korea. Our precision heaters are far to expensive to waste on defending Hyundai and feel that the two brothers must slug it out and end this once and for all without intervention (Until the very end and only if the side we back is losing).

Nothing will happen, no war, not now.

I am praying that you are right.

The population of Seoul on December 20th 2010 is approximately 10,208,302.

I'm not convinced by the reports of reserve call-ups. It's going against what I personally am hearing from people in the area.

Just saying. The Pentagon ``fact sheet`` about the Iran war using nuclear bunker buster on Iran nuclear sites said that those nukes were ``safe for civilians`` because they exploded underground.

I'm not kidding. I read that report back in 2006 and can't find it anymore. But I'm telling you, those people believe their own BS.

Exactly, nobody, especially Obama has got the balls to do anything.

The US used to be a Super Power but are now looked at by the World as weaklings.

If they get any more pathetic, China or Russia could very easily move in so to speak, it wouldn't be difficult!

I actually feel sorry for Americans and I blame it on their President! He intially promised so much but then it went all pear-shaped as soon as he got into power!

So back to the thread, no War yet, involving the US anyways!

Well it finally made the MSM CNN
they broke into the usual news to say tensions look to be gaining,.
since they are usually behind in info, it is about right

I think Kim will react as long as he has China as a big backup! This is what is going to make the determination - how far is China willing to go - NK by itself is nothing. Would China be willing at some point to resort to nukes? Would like to hear your take on China in this respect.
