No-one will have any problems sending anyone to Uni.

False. Many parents of a working class background won't risk their sons and daughters getting so much debt.

The only change is that those who go to Uni and get a good job thereafter will have to pay more back to cover the costs of their education.

So... what you're saying is... They'll be paying back more. Yet you can't understand why people are angry at this?

Go to Uni and end up on the dole and you pay not a single 1p
Kinda defeats the idea of going to uni then doesn't it?

It's not about class at all. But the terrorists want you to think so. I wonder why?

Nope it really is.

Which in turn prevents this country competing with the best because some of our most talented individuals will have had restricted opportunities.

So much for Cameron et al having this country's best interests at heart!

At last, someone else that sees the reality of the French protesters myth !

The French Senate has passed the bill, and it will become law later this month.

A week or so of protests, and they just shrug their shoulders and slink back to their State-dependant lives, having achieved absolutely nothing by their demonstrations.

hahaha ... so you never react against that sh$$t they put in your face up there ???
we in Europ react, we fight, you in US are sleeping when GWB is playing Big Brother !!!!
is that better for you ????
do you want to study or maybe you have 6000 £ to pay for it now instead of 2000 which is already much too much ??? you nice man, you think everybody has 6000 £ to study ??? You did study in the army maybe, paid by us ??? peace, I'm angry because everybody always does not understand the problems of the NORMAL people that have to work hard to pay for study ( kids or themselves ), doctor, healthcare, house .....

There are plenty of people that will have hue problems sending their children to university. Fear of debt is something most hardworking families share. They will base their descissions on this

They only have to pay back the fees. Young people fall in love and marry you know. £30K - £50K debt each before even getting a mortgage, the only way most have any chance to set up a home. This in a market with no job security, low pay and unfunded pensions.

Go on the dole, great life goal there. They could take their degrees abroad to benifit other countries and leave us with nothing.

Get real. Terrorist. The only ones terrorising are the government at the behest of big business

They have a right to be angry as higher education is now only for those who can afford it. The libs have gone back on their promise so I say tear the place up. When the people who are supposed to be representing us will not listen what other choice do we have?

Dont you think that having a right to be angry about fee increases stops at vandalism which obviously will increase fees?

(Photos and videos 'fair use doctrine' for the purpose of discussion and education)

I was amazed by the great numbers of students on the streets protesting! - was it 50.000 students from all parts of the country?

I bet the mass media won't show this, or they will say that they are violent protestors as usual. This website is my only means of true news anymore. Some of it is far fetched, but for the most part its pretty dead on. ;0

Word from Sky is that a sit-in is now occuring in Parliament Square.

Apparently the protesters are moving from Tory HQ down in that direction, apparently only fifty or so at the moment, let's hope this new action grows.

Anyway the new fees are ridiculous, not worth it by a long shot. It's clearly to force people into work.

To add I find it very empowering that people are still willing to react like this to things that affect their lives and futures! Go Students!

To remove too much information. Like TMI seriously.

edit on 10-11-2010 by Big Raging Loner because: TMI what everrr!

It's been on the news channels in the UK all day man.... literally.
They've shown nothing but this.

They've also said it's a small minority and have emphasized that the protests were peaceful until the millbank tower incident.

Pretty fair reporting it seems.

At least they are protesting, better than just taking these things lying down. I hate the way the media report on these events, constantly focusing on the copper with a scratch on his face, making out he's been stabbed by a bunch anarchists.

It's a bunch of floppy haired stoodents for god sake

Well what about in the G20 when those guys at the front had fake blood over them to make it look like they had been beaten by the cops? Two sides to the story - and lets see you face off against thousands even if they are students.

Protesting is ok, everyone has that right. But smashing things up just to cause grief? Its us that will pay for it, not them.

fake blood ???? oh Jesus, my God ..... fake blood ... you prefer real blood maybe ?? you like the police smash down normal people, YOUR people by the way ?????
you are a human like we are, so do not get too high in your brain man, do not tell us what we have to do or not, you never defend your own intrests ???? we have no right to play also some game also with fake blood ??
GWB an Rove and Cheney and Rumsfeld and Fox News all play a game and we may not play some game with fake blood ??? come on man, I think you really are a very old man, one from the years 1800 ??? not understanding what COM techniques are ..... have a sherry !!

Noticed a policeman with tape on his face. He will be in big trouble. Does the fool not realise this was meant to cover his number as in other protests.

So I should pay for the next generation of bankers and politicians to go to Uni? I say they should pay.

For the record, I never went to Uni because I couldn't afford to finish my A levels. So I got a job instead. And paid taxes. Meanwile, I have never rioted in London nor deliberately caused damage to others or to other's property. Why shoud I pay?

Personally I'd increase the amount students have to repay in order to compensate for the damage their terrorist friends cause

I think this is nuts, in the sense that the small majority has disrupted a perfect show of peaceful demo. If i could i would definitely be in the frontline, of course in a peaceful manner!
