How do you know there weren't more contrails?

But how many eastbound flights approach California at 39,000 feet at sunset?

Something is going on obviously, Be sure to read in betwween the headlines to see what else is going on.

2, they need to explain 2!!!!!

Why have they got to explain 2?

Think perspective when analysing aircraft contrails. Will you be calling for an investigation of these lit contrails?

I doubt it...it's just not a big enough event.

OK, but if the Press Secretary came out and said... "A non US ICBM/weapon was launched miles off the coast of CA and luckily our Military did This to knock it off course causing it to land harmlessly elsewhere. RUN people, the CHINESE are coming!"

That might do it, right?

Then this would be easily explained. But, no. They do say it was something and they are investigating...

As for the Top Secret event - how top secret can it be so close to populated coast. This doesn't hold water too.

They are using this, probably not a big deal, to create mystery in the media, very useful in present economic situation, when gold has risen above 1400 dollars per oz, and another 600 b bailout just passed unnoticed, and so on...

Phage why do you stick to your contrail theory still? seems like the military has now taken responsibility for this as per G.E.L but yet you seem so sure?

I don't follow you

Please point to where GEL says the military has taken responsibility.

The military knows what it was and are keeping it secret. Jets would have been scrambled if something did launch without the knowledge of the military.

QFT

Ever launch a model rocket above 2000 feet without first contacting your local FAA Office 24 hours prior? That little aluminum retaining piece that holds your engine in place in that little cardboard tube is enough to make Radar contact. The jets will be scrambled from the nearest AFB and fly overhead within minutes.

Same with a homemade weather balloon made from a dry-cleaning bag, some string, a votive candle and some butane. The moment it hits the 2000 foot ceiling the aluminum tray on that votive candle is enough to set off Radar contact and get the USAF jets scrambled to your location in minutes.

Unconfirmed Radar contact always results in a call from the FAA Radar Station detecting it to the USAF.

There was some top secret USAF things happening on sunday a few hundred miles from this launch. I was told that if these operations were explained to me I would have to be killed. It was said jokingly but had a ring of truth. So that is all I know. Yeah, they are playing with their new war toys, sucking the money out of our pockets. They like to pretend that they are protecting us but they are just riding the money train on shadow government tracks.
I'm sure one will find that there were no commercial flights allowed in that area at that time. Maybe the FAA will fess up.

Answer here:
reddit thread

From kleinbl00:
"Their rough guesstimate as to launch site is a little north of San Nicolas, which is, not to put too fine a point on it, a muther#ing missile launch site.
San Nicholas is, not to put too fine a point on it, a detachment of 200 or more airmen managed by the 30th space wing.
If you read between the lines, CBS asked the Navy if they launched anything and the Navy said "no" (because San Nicholas and the 30th space wing are Air Force territory). Then they asked Vandenberg if they launched anything and Vandenberg said "we haven't launched anything from Vandenberg since Friday" (because they launched something from San Nicholas).2"

And from deathprayer:
"NOTAM for LA.
KZLA LOS ANGELES A2832/10 - THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS ARE REQUIRED DUE TO NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER WEAPONS DIVISION ACTIVATION OF W537. IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, ALL NON-PARTICIPATING PILOTS ARE ADVISED TO AVOID W537. IFR TRAFFIC UNDER ATC JURISDICTION SHOULD ANTICIPATE CLEARANCE AROUND W537 AND CAE 1176. CAE 1155 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR OCEANIC TRANSITION. CAE 1316 & CAE 1318 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR OCEANIC TRANSITION. CAE 1177 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR OCEANIC TRANSITION. W537 ACTIVE, CAE 1176 CLOSED. SURFACE - FL390, 09 NOV 20:00 2010 UNTIL 10 NOV 01:00 2010. CREATED: 08 NOV 20:52 2010"

So it was either a navy or usaf launch likely from San Nicolas. Somebody else pointed out that San Nicolas was the likely launch site a few pages back.

But feel free to keep believing that it was the Chinese or Russians or Martians.

Well if it's not ours, then whose missle is it?

Col. Dave Lapan says:

It appears from the video, Lapan said, the object was launched from the water and not U.S. soil, though at this point there is no way to be certain.

missle shot off los angeles still a mystery

Proving that they know what it is, and where it originated from. It's not a contrail. My money is on China.

She did say they know what it is, and will not say. Why would they hesitate to say it was an airliner?

All this governmental not knowing that is going on. I wonder where it is that they "dont" want us to look right now.
Finding that out, might give us a big clue.

Well then all the FAA has to say is that it was the exact flight plan of flight so in so. They would know if an airliner took off at that exact time. Very easy to corralate, but the FAA says absolutely nothing of the sort. They seem just as clueless as the rest. Why hide an airplane taking off? Who the heck cares? Also, it appeared to have been lauched OFF the coast, not to mention you can the see the glow from the rocket propulsion. Last time I checked, airliners don't use rocket propulsion systems.

Let me just repeat because this thread is moving fast.

2sws (where my daughter's father works) knows and monitors ALL launches (missile, shuttles, rockets, nucs, etc) are known by them. ALL - US and foreign. This is his job. They know 100% what this is and who did it. Nothing gets by them. NOTHING. They are our first defenders!

However, it is classified right now and not being released.
