Whatever the costs, I think the stakes are pretty high?

I think most people would say go do whatever you have to do to win back that $12 billion jets deal, maintain intelligence and influence on their nuclear activities, secure a key strategic alliance inside BRIC and coincidentally the second largest nation on earth, especially if it may halt or slow any moves by the other BRIC nations to remove the USAs hold on default reserve currency status (before the USA has found a way out of the existing recession)...?

Warships or not, I think they SHOULD pull the stops out...

I will be the first to say I sure don't believe a word the White House says. Nor the media for that matter. It's a shame the world has come to this but I don't trust a word anyone says.

Can anyone tell me why you need 3,000 members, 34 war ships, for what…is something going to happen in AMERICA, and we have no protection? Makes me wonder. I feel like something is going to happen

Can you provide a source for the 34 warships? One that did no originate from an anonymous Indian source?

Especially why does anyone on ATS believe this? One anonymous source in India says something and we just take it as truth? Many of you that are upset are upset at the craziness of it. How does the craziness of it not make any of you stop and question the validity of this anonymously sources story?

It almost seems like someone flipped a switch here. Just a year ago, no one would believe any old tabloid rumor. Months ago, more and more people seemed to be willing to accept rumors but they eventually got debunked. Now there is thread after thread of people just railing on about how upset they are over things we have no reason to accept as fact.

I thought this site was about the truth,well none of this is true..as much as I don't like his policies there is no need to lie..

Maybe this is a clue...A few of months ago, during the summer, I met three young men at a bar who just finished US Army Basic Training. They told me that they were going to be sent out to Afghanistan in January 2011.

So if they already know that they are going to be shipped out to Afghanistan in January 2011, it means that the war is not ending soon...it's just beginning.

Maybe there will be an intensification of war in the Middle East in the next few months?

I also have a very close friend who was told last Christmas or shortly after that he was also being deployed to Afghanistan this year, I asked him why since the war was supposedly over but did not get any real response.

I have way too much respect to push it as he is going career.

Sodahead does not say where it's "facts" come from.

Think about this logically: how the hell can 34 warships be off the coast of India without anyone knowing? And what would the purpose be? Warships will not stop an assassin. When you look at this from a non-partisan point of view, you will realize it is completely ridiculous.

Yes something is and has been for a very long time, chances are we may never know any more than we do now and it will happen so slow people will think that this is how it has always been.

I kind of take offense that people think that NDTV and The Press Trust Of India are not reliable sources. Even though CNN has said this report was false, they really didn't come out with an official article on their website about it being false...which really raises my eyebrows. (You also can't leave comments on the Anderson Cooper 360 video on the site...very weird.)

With all of the voices saying that this report is false, why hasn't NDTV retracted the article yet? Remember, INDIA IS OUR ALLY.

Why would India, an ally of the US who relies on our protection, allow a news source to maintain a supposed lie about this trip?

It is not real news. Every singly article got its information from one anonymous source. Why would you believe that? Don't you wonder who this source could be?
