Personally, I think that most of the hate on President Obama is a race issue.

From the get go people have criticized him.

Has he really done anything even close to destroying the United States as the Bush administration did?

We were led into two wars under the Bush administration based on lies. We knew they were lying during Bush's first term yet the man was re-elected for a second term. Seriously, who were the idiots there?

We gave them the support ( I didn't vote for Bush) even though we knew the wars were based on lies.

Now we have Obama still trying to clean up the mess and all I see is criticism from everybody. Yes, I agree with the fact that not everything is a positive under the Obama administration but any way that you look at it its an improvement over the Bush administration.

Everybody acts all surprised at the wikileaks documents. We have nobody to blame but us. I have been overseas. I've seen the casualties.

It's our fault as Americans that we dont know what's going on out there. We're too busy worrying about who will be the next couple to get kicked out of dancing with the stars and Lohan's next court date to even think about the war crimes being committed out there.

America needs to wake the hell up!!! If we had paid attention for the past ten years to these wars as much attention as we paid to the last season of the Sopranos and Lost then maybe we wouldnt need wikileaks to point all this basic sh.. up!!!!

Anyway, back to Obama. Give the man a break. I personally dont think that he has had enough time to fix the mess that we were In when he took office. I mean seriously, we only know about the illegal wars. Can you guys even imagine the things that we dont even know about?

I do not hate the man, I hate his policies.

Tell me, since his administration broke the law when it came to GM, do you think THAT is all right?

How about his admin burying the fraud and corruption in the banking and real estate market?

How about his admin bailing out those very companies with the future of our country?

How about his admin expanding the very Patriot Act that you decried Bush for?

How about his admin accepting the power to assassinate citizens?

I could go on, but why. Hey, I am sure there is some sand somewhere near you.

Wow, its like every comment you made is taken directly from Moveon.org.

Are you serious with this crap?

Just a little tip: People hate Obama not because of his race, but because he is an epic failure.

The charade is over, and now people are seeing the problem with electing someone who has zero experience as an executive, zero experience managing a budget, and generally no experience in anything else related to being President.

On a sidenote, you claimed the wars were "illegal". Can you post specifically what laws were violated? Statute numbers? I won't hold my breath, since many before you also failed to do so.

Here in ATS most members know exactly what is transpiring in politics, so to say that most people are too busy with the life of the stars will be truth as long as they are not members of this site.

Obama just like his predecessor are doing what they are told to do by those that control government, wall street and the filthy rich.

We have in this nation the most money corrupted government in the world, they hate comes after that fact.

Barack Obama will eventually be ranked below Bill Clinton in terms of how horrible a job he has done as president. No amount of spin can change the fact that his policies have 1) drained autonomy and power from the American people; 2) widened the divisions between people in America; 3) worsened unemployment and financial failure for 10s of millions of Americans; & 4) weakened America in the eyes of other nation-states.

He is a terrible president. He was never qualified. He never actually held a real job of any sort before he took office. Barack Obama has absolutely NO executive or leadership experience, and it is displayed every time he tries to "lead."

These are facts, and they have nothing whatsoever to do with his race.

If the issue had been with his race, he would never have gotten elected. The US is approximately 75% Caucasian and 15% African American. Why is it that everyone believed this man was going to turn everything on it's ear just because he was the "first" anything? People of your viewpoint thought the answer was so simple and all it would take to fix the social/financial mess in this country was by electing this man. Just because he's the first "African American" President doesn't mean he's some messiah figure.

Obama, and those of your persuasion, expect him to leave a lasting mark on the world. Greatness doesn't come with being the "first" at anything. Greatness comes from well thought out viable solutions, not doing the exact opposite just for the sake of doing them. The answers are never that simple.

I'm offended by all the insinuations that it HAS to be his race that everyone has a problem with. Is that all that matters to you? Do you not care about who a person is and what they believe? Seriously move on. That card has been played to death.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add. He is a multicultural ethnicity. So if it's an issue of race, what do you call those purposed people? Is there a term for racism against your own race? This is utter BS and racially motivated OP. It would be like me berating an Irish man for being a no good drunk when I'm 1/2 Irish myself.

i dont hate obama, and the reason why is because i know that he has no real control over anything. hes just a pawn in a game of chess. hes just a face that "they" use to deceive. so i dont hate the man.

in a way i think he is caught up in the mix of things when all he really wanted to do was fulfill his dream of becoming the president of the united states.

im white (obviously known from my "avatar") and i have a $h*tload of black friends. race never had anything to do with it for me.

I think saying people hate President Obama because of his race is just an easy way out.

My sister was a firm supporter up until this year when things started to fall apart. It became clear to her that he does not have the clout to make some of his campaign promises happen.

Some peoples dislike comes from those failed campaign promises. When an issue effects the person personally, they do get angry about it. Plus watching him back track on statements like "shovel ready projects", is very disappointing.

With unemployment hovering near 10 percent nearly two years after President Obama signed his economic stimulus package, Mr. Obama is acknowledging that, despite his campaign promises, "there's no such thing as shovel-ready projects."

Source

I think it all comes down to strict party lines and broken promises.

And for those fact checkers out there, here's a link to an Obama promise tracker:

I move for this thread to be closed, it's antagonistic in nature and has no real value to discuss.

Obama campaigned on hope and change and then has provided absolutely none of either. Bush was a nefarious president, you are correct, and people wanted the nation to heal from it. The nation has not healed and, in most respects, has gotten worse. His promises of change and then keeping on with the status quo after his election has proved to totally disenfranchise the very people that elected him. People do not hate Obama because of his race, it is because he promised something he didn't deliver. That unkept promise destroyed any hope people may have had after Bush. Destroyed hope creates angry people.

Personally, if youre going to have a valid argument; come to the table with something based in reality as your first talking point.

"people dont like Obama because theyre racist" Is really a stupid argument considering that alot of the people that voted for him are now turning their backs on him. Not to mention that racism isnt nearly as commonplace as you people make it out to be.

I can dislike or even hate a person based on their being an asshat alone...Color of their skin plays no part in their asshattery. Reminds me of DieHard 3 with Samuel Jackson. He kept calling all the white people racist. When Sam Jackson and Bruce Willis had an argument at the beginning of the movie he said something like;
(paraphrasing because i cant look at the exact lines right now)

BW: Hey, you know where we found that bomb?
SJ: Where?
BW: In the park next to your nephews' school. Listen, this terrorist doesnt care about skin color. Even if you do.

I was right to be as afraid as i was in 2008 because our under-educated masses in this country forgot that we are supposed to have checks and balances in our government. Everyone was so worked up about GW Bush that they voted Dem for everything, no matter what.

Obama has been an empty suit in the white house. The country he is responsible for is seeing the worst times economically since the great depression and he is taking vacations left and right spending money like a movie star. His wife is trying to ram healthy food legislation down our throats while every other picture of her shows her sucking on an ice cream cone.

He has had opportunity to be great. He has failed. He should have ordered that the healthcare legislation be released with enough time to read every page of it before holding the vote so that all of our representatives could make an informed vote. He should have ordered Navy SEALS to that hostage event within minutes of hearing that an American citizen had been taken hostage. He should have DOMINATED that oil spill personally. He should have shown up for the medal of honor ball; instead he was the only president in 50 years to miss it. He shouldnt have returned the bust of Winston Churchill. I can go on and on...

He campaigned on "CHANGE" he changed things alright...He made the federal government more opaque. He has been the most divisive president ever. His approval ratings speak for themselves.

Bush started the bailout before Obama was even in office, including wanting to bailout GM. That was Bush's idea.

Obama gets in office as the economy starts to go to crap, but the momentum is already there. So even at 2 years in, it's not like unemployment is going to be back to normal. Government can only do so much as far as job creation, it's up to private businesses to hire.

Yes but these were things that were already in play or eventually happen regardless of what president was elected.

As I clearly stated, I don't agree with everything that's been done under the Obama administration. I just don't see everything as bad as the Bush administration. Maybe if people like you would have looked at the Bush admin with the same microscope that you're looking at the Obama admin then we wouldn't be in this position that we're currently in.

We all bitc. and complain about the bailout (myself included) and I really disagree with the outcome of it but tell me. What would you have different?

Maybe we should have gotten all the unemployed and made two work crews. One to destroy roads or make ditches then have the second crew come around and fix them. That would have given people jobs and then they would have pumped that money into the economy right?

If you think rebulicans would have done any better then you are mistaken. If anything bankers are more in league with republicans than democrats imo. If you want someone to blame how about blaming yourselves for wanting things like yesterday rather than actually saving up for it, all credit and no money.

Most still believe that policy is dictated by the President, The House and Senate in which it is not. Nor is it dictated by We the People.

If people can get past this then they are well on their way to recovery from THE LIE.

National and International policy are dictated by think tanks like
The Royal Society
ADL
AIPAC
Project for New American Century
Bilderberg
G20
Trilaterlists
CFR
Club of Rome
Tavistock

Dont be mad at the presidents and your elected officials. Be mad at the think tanks and yourselves. Then you have just moved up another notch to the truth and away from the lie. Sure your presidents ministers ambassadors, elected officials may be members but they are a very small part of the whole.

The reason they win and we lose is because they understand one-ness better than we do. We as the commoner, citizen, we the people are searching for independence, self sufficiency, self supporting, being able to stand on our own 2 feet. There are many things we call it. To be dependent and interdependent is a bad word amongst us. It is just one main reason we lose and they win. We consider self sufficiency, sovereignty, and independence a virtue when in reality it is destructive. Keeps us seperate from (fill in blank) freedom, each other, power, happiness, "God"?.............

Note:
I have never in my entire life on a PC hear my hard drive crank so hard after posting something. It almost sounded as if there was a chainsaw in my tower.
