Very first human looking android. The future is here!

For some reason this reminds me of the movie Surrogates. Creepy in a way....

This is the “world’s first true Android”, called the Actroid-F. She’s (I’m sorry, it’s) designed to be used in hospitals and other locations involving natural human-to-human communication, and can move its eyes, open and close its mouth, tilt its head, nod, smile, replicate breathing, and bow; and is 1.4 meters tall when seated. She made an appearance at a two-day laboratory fair at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), where a teleoperating station equipped with a camera was showcased, enable the android to replicate the head and facial movements of the operator, as well as following manually-inputted commands.

Well i know the Japs are clever but theses dont look real to me ! They look like humans cos they are ! they are actors surely??

Shome me some wires hanging out the back of there neck ! or get them to drink water and watch them steam!!

Reminds me of the film AI ! so that leads me to the question ! "will they be bringing out a "gigalo Jo" or a "lady of the night Lisa" am thinking already how can i trade in the missus? My mind is racing with the possible advantages of one of these over a real life concious, thinking!! wife.

Japan has a demographic problem, so who is going to become the workers?

These robots are the example of what is to become. Likely, these robots will enter the workplace in a year or so.

I can't help my self, but they still look like creepy zombies to me.

I have no doubt, except I believe it will be more for personal use. I do not think our debt based society will be able to handle the people having no purchasing power when they are out of work.

The only way I see them being fully integrated into our society is if the Venus project comes to Fruition, if we are a resource based economy rather than a monetary based economy, then yes I see in the workforce becoming very prevalent.

Heh..! I was just about to mention the Good Mister Jules.

As far as I know, those above is not the first, unless they can actually walk or move their arms, as Jules was created first. UNLESS; those above was secretly created years ago?
There is also another type of Android made in the image of its creator, but I do not recall the creators name, unfortunately.
