Hi people!

It seams that this subject is a kind of a tabu, an alien named Xenu or Xemu who once was the dictator of some galactic confederation came to earth 75 million years ago in a DC8 like spacecraft and left his people around volcanos and killed them with hydrogen bombs.

This is what is written here about this scientology character...

Well, this is of course a simplification of the story written by the bad science fiction author and high priest and leader of the scientology "church"

Personally I find amazing that supposedly well informed people buy this bad sci-fi story and even pay fortunes to have access to this story and accept it as an hidden truth. You can read about it in the link above.

Is there any cult like this but based on Dune or Star wars? ...Lord of the rings...

Scientology has been discussed here a lot. It is pretty messed up that people will pay such large sums of money for a science fiction experience. Disney World is much cheaper and more fun. All organized religions bilk their weak minded believers out of money though. Many Christian preachers pimp the Son of God like a common two bit whore. Even though there is no mandate in the Bible that gives them the right to do so.

It's a cult, not a religion in any way.

And as the other guy said it's been posted about here alot - never once that I've seen, in a positive manner.

Oh just fyi, Springer stated in the new T&C that avatars and bg images that obscure your name, etc, are to be removed - just so you know... white on white... I had no Idea who I was going to reply to until I highlited the text.

it's the continuation of "tithing" as it was originally presented in the old testament. the idea being. that everything requires work, and work produces goods, and goods provide life (in varying degrees). without it, the streets would be milling with preachers, prophets and rabbis

There must be a part of them that suspends disbelief because when they finally get to hear the complete Xenu story they feel like such a shill. They paid sooo much money to get to that Nth level of knowledge!

As for other Sci-Fi cults religions: Here ya go!

I find the church of scientology no more or less credible than any other religion out there..frankly, it makes a little bit more sense than mudman and ribwoman mythos.

I would say the most likely of the kooky religions...if a religion was going to be the answer to us verses science, would be the Raelian movement actually (ahh, the little green men). That religion is based mostly in a advanced race using scientific means for creation...sure, why not...if there is one that may have a half foot in reality, it would be that one.

Tithing was a burnt offering given directly to God. It was never supposed to enrich the Priests. Remember Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple...he did not sell them a franchise.

When the bulls were sacrificed to Zeus the people ate them as a feast.

Whenever someone says "What about scientologists?"
I always want to say "What about them?"

I don't CARE. It's a pyramid scheme in religious garb.
Surely their copyrights will run out one day.

Religion itself is a pyramid scheme in funny clothes.

I have not given Scientology much thought, but does it make any less sense than an omnipotent god?

As far as I can tell, there is more PHYSICAL evidence on this planet to support ancient alien theories than traditional religions which are all based on faith.

Is Scientology not just another spin on the ancient aliens theory?

Again, I don't support Scientology or know much about it so maybe I am off.

money changers were like credit card companies, operating in the court of the gentiles. that has nothing to do with tithing. 10% of the first fruits of your labor, 3% of which went to the levite priests to sustain them. hey, the guys who maintained the temple and its edifices needed to have something to eat and wear too.

Don't believe anything Tom Cruise believes in because then you would be damning yourself to what ever you call hell. IMO

Could be a continuous loop of your mom waking you up and telling you Tom Cruise is your daddy. FREAKIN HEEEEEELL

Still, I must admit that the "Rib-Woman myth" have allways made sense to me, as the description of it in the texts sounds very, very much like Biotechnology and a Surgical Procedure.

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof.
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Actually, Disney isn't that different from Scientology if you think about it.

Kids are brainwashed into asking their parents to spend money on frivulous things that they don't need that they think will improve them, sometimes through education.

They watch fictional movies based on characters created by a single person, Walt Disney, who also believed in a sort of life after death if you believe the stories that he was cryogenically frozen. Walt Disney also used mind altering drugs (such as peyote) to further his "life experience" beyond the norm.

The kids are then brainwashed into visiting the major centers surrounding Disney World / Disneyland etc, in order to have a more centralized "disney experience" and be more normal like every other child.

People then spend money on these characters and stories because they think it will improve their life somehow.

Not much different from Scientology when you think about it

Here is L Ron describing the history of xenu as part of scientology and Southparks interpretation. Notice they're the same????

scientology is a dangerous cult. I was hoping Anonymous would have put an end to scientology for good but is seems as if they threw in the towel

neither do I, this is all new to me, and thats the reason of my post... I find absolutely incredible how educated people give so much money to be lectured or thought on this kind of crap!! they buy a very bad sci-fi story, completely empty in context and meaning, worst than many B movies I´ve seen.

My shock was huge, this morning when I was watching tv and this documentary came up (a panorama bbc doc)
not being hard to dismantle, christian religion has some degree of complexity and a few layers have to be taken before you realize its emptiness, but this scientology crap beats anything I knew.

the xenu story is interesting. something's there, just can't put my finger on it yet. i have some bits and pieces and theories for why L. Ron chose those particular details and with those particular spellings. (i'm an etymology buff, particularly ancient languages). i'm just not sold on the approach he took to it nor the solutions he arrived at. in addition, i have additional information regarding his activities prior to forming scientology and that information leads me to believe he knew some black project like data, but potentially was in the same situation as most people with inside information: compartmentalized.

He was a Sci-fi writer. That's where he came up with the whole xenu garbage. He failed as a sci-fi writer so he created a religion to make money.

Some of L. Ron's quotes:
" We are slowly and carefully teaching the unholy a lesson. It is as follows: We are not a law enforcement agency. BUT we will become interested in the crimes of people who seek to stop us. If you oppose scientology we promptly look up - and find and expose - your crimes. If you leave us alone we will leave you alone.

It's very simple. Even a fool can grasp that.
And don't underrate our ability to carry it out. "

" Never discuss Scientology with the critic. Just discuss his or her crimes, known and unknown. "

That being said, here's a video that shows how this is carried out:

"what are your crimes?"
"what are you afraid of?"

Notice the 3 clowns trying to intimidate a reporter to get him to leave a public scientology event?????
This is how scientology works....through fear and intimidation.

SAD !

if you go to scientology website there is a movie about his life. his father was in the navy and he travelled the world with him.

about the sci-fi story of xenu, I think in that time, late fifties early sixties sci-fi plots wern´t that complex, maybe he used some ideas of the stories being heard at those days and then had to stick to the plot or it would be discredited. this xenu remember´s me the ming emperor of flash gordon, a character he would have seen when he was 20 to 30 years old.

what I would like to see is some scripts from him, early material would be best, I guess less filtered material would reveal his personality and deepness of tough.

We have a small scientolgy church in my hometown. It is only a very snall place. Been there since the 1970s long before the hype/awareness about scientology that is currently the fashion at the moment. When i was a child of about 7/8 yrs old i was out for a walk with my Mother and i asked my Mother what the Curch of Scientology was and asked if it was a church scientists prayed in!
hey for a 7 yr old i think that was rather logical. My Mother tried to explain but i was too young to understand things that much. As i got older i learnt about the Moonies and more about Sciencetology and realised they were nothing more than a cult, and a dangerous one too. I steered well clear of them.
Now a fully grown adult i have seen just how powerful a cult scientology has become. This is in thanks partly to A list Hollywood stars giving the cult their blessing ie Tom Cruise. I dont think it will be long before the sheeps clothing will fall away from the scientology racket and the wolf is revealed. Additionally what gets me is that Ron Hubbard's B movie style sci fi story is all based on a dictatorship ailen society. Who on earth wants to be ruled over by a dictator!
I for one do not.
Yes i beleive ailens have visited us in the distant past and have always done throughout time. That is of course another long story but i am certaintly NOT buying into the Scientology twaddle. It is a money making racket lining thr pockets of those who are laughing at the sheeple taking it so seriously. And perhaps more disturbingly brainwashing people at the same time
They would have a hard time doing so with me as i would laugh right back at them!
