What army did you join 20 years ago that let you join up when you was 16?

I've been around just about as long as you claim and I have never heard of or seen anyone younger then 17 join and that was with a parents signed release form.

You are either blowing smoke about being in the military or about your age.

I actually joined at 15 and 8 months. I was a junior leader at JIB shornecliffe before i went to my unit.. The junior infantry no longer exists although it should imo. A lot of good soldiers were created at Shornecliffe.

Well for one they truck bombed the american embasy in Kenya durring the clinton administration.

Kenya

...and why did they do that? Because we wear blue jeans and read Vogue Magazine?

It is not widly known that Al Qaeda Philippines helped Terry Nichols in the Oklahoma City bombing as well as the first WTC bombing.
I am posting this read for its good info but do not hold with the conclusions.

Well since you cannot stand by the conclusions this is just a conspiracy theory to distract from the topic. Why would Al Qeada attack us to begin with? They had reasons, remember what they were?

Look man even if they thought they had reson to do war with the US why kill Kenyans? And they are always so carefull not to do much killing in the nations that wanted us to come over in the first place. (1st gulf war). They do have enough brains SOMETIMES not the # where they eat but in truth these nations like Kuwait have as much reason to be targeted by these nuts.

Why do you think I owe anyone an apology?

Maybe you should apologize for that whole first paragraph, my head still hurts from trying to sort it out.

What?? you don't think calling a man a liar on open forum based on your ignorance of the British Army isn't worthy of an apology, even after you have new information indicating that your position was wrong, bad call.

Seriously you're complaining about a few commas not being used in a conversational context, I don't proof read my posts and only ever comment if there is a humorous element to another posters grammatical errors, but hey each to their own.

I am curious...and I have not watched the video, but...what if it was a video of a U.S. NCO berating and shoving green U.S. troops if they were not going through whatever door they needed to go through to accomplish the mission?

Would that be seen as cowardly behaviour on the part of the NCO...or him just being a properly hard-a@#$ed leader pushing his troops through their fear of combat?

Look, man why talk about Kenyans at all?

I asked a very simple and rather specific question. You responses look a lot to me like what I get when a piece of hardware fails in my computer. If you need to take a few more swings at bat, please do. Let me know when you get around to just answering my simple question.

Do you think that would actually happen though ?

I would imagine that US and UK troops do not get to the front line unless they have been brainwashed, I mean trained, to not think just do. Actually it is a kind of brainwashing, and I suppose it has to be that way. there is little point having soldiers who when asked, told, ordered to do something start having a discussion about it.

You just want them to go and do it.

So in this case it is obvious that the Afghans involved are not properly trained/brainwashed and therefore shouldn't be there.

Thats how I see it anyway.

I said what I said and I'm not sorry I said it.

I won't make the mistake of saying it again now that I have more info though. I do admit to being mistaken, but I'm not sorry for it.

Happens a lot more then you would think. Most of the time its because a green troop is nervous and not paying attention to what they are suppose to be doing. There is a reason we have plates in the back of our vests.

"Conditioning" sounds so much nicer than brainwashing.

Very harsh conditioning, just as it should be!

Yes, you have to polish your tools properly or they will function poorly in battle.

My platoon sergeant in basic was a guy from 22 cheshire regiment and a total bastard.. My section commander was from the royal regiment of wales who hated englismen.. He made us learn "men of harlach" and pray for war every day.. At external leadership training he got over excited because we were in wales and made us run up Pen Yfan (a mountain in Brecon Wales) wearing respirators (gas masks)... He woke us up by telling us "today you are going to learn to dance... The p fan dance".. To be honest running down from Jacobs ladder to Crickhowell was harder than running up... After SCBC and PSBC i found i was well prepared! Amongst other stuff...

My platoon sergeant broke my ribs by kicking them because i did not move after every two shots on live attacks to make myself a harder target... I moved after that!... And took fieldcraft seriously from there..

Those details saved my life in many ops..

With the British and Israelis..

British first though...

Brainwashing is BS... In war sergeant knows best... Ive been a sergeant... And was just as much as a bastard... It saves lives... And in your career gives you the tools to pass some "special" courses..

What?

The guy on your avatar is a tool with a weapon. He is a sheep who fallow his sheep leaders ideology.

Oh like youre really pitching here. I can count the stitches on that "fast ball". What are you? A first year debate team bencher? The avatar says it all...wide eyed and amazed.

I am sorry but I have no idea what your response means. Again, I just asked a question. I have attempted no such debate. My avatar is from television and I am sorry you are too young to recognize it. I do not quite understand that point of these last two responses. If you do not have an answer to my question, you might as well not respond to it. I hope that helps in the future.

Oh dear. It was a joke for people who know what a euphemism is.

If a soldier is a tool then what does that make you?

What's your point?

If you are a tool than, that makes me aware and far from being like you.
