when i started reading this thread tonight...there were four pages of responses....so i started on page one and started reading....by the time i got to page 4 ....there were 6 pages of responses...by the time i got to the end of page six....it was up to page NINE!

This is crazy, these stories are big news. Its surreal how much stuff happens that doesn't get reported. I feel like there is nowhere to get the actual news. The worst thing, is that everyone KNOWS the media covers things up, my parents watch TV news, and they know the bull# being spewed out, but they watch anyway. Its really frightening that there are so few sources of reliable news anywhere.

This is how conspiracy theories start.
That is if we wanted to follow any we can pick and choose.

Thanks for the link to the BBC's so-called refutation. You would think with all their resources, the BBC would have mustered a more convincing explanation. And they claim they lost the original tapes....incredible!?!

This story about UFOs in Southern California the day before Roswell seems to have largely been a one-off although to their credit the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin briefly resurrected it last April.

Think the Inland Valley is the last place a flying saucer would visit? Then consider the July 6, 1947, experience of the R.V. Allen family of Riverside Drive in Ontario: "The rancher said that while he and Mrs. Allen and their daughter Dolores were seated in their motor car about 9:30 p.m., they saw a whole `school' of the strange discs overhead from south to north and insisted that they `played about in the air just as perch do in the water,"' wrote the Ontario Daily Report the next day. Not convinced? How about B.A. Runner who saw - and heard - some strange things that same night on West California Street? "Runner reported that several of the discs sailed over his house about 8 p.m., circled about and returned, one of them flying so low that the sound of an attached motor could be distinctly heard," wrote the newspaper.

Wow those videos of the "UFO" floating down above the building then exploding up into the sky are really powerful.. Does anyone else have any insight or news about those? Seems really strange that there are so many similar videos and you can tell its something that was actually witnessed!. Hmmm..

I dont know if this was a news story that was dropped, but in all the years i've heard about the September 11 stuff i have never heard this, i was watching the History Channel this morning and they were showing clips of old news stories in between shows and this one pops up.

A guy tried crashing a cessna into the Whitehouse back in 1994, they had footage of the crashed plane on the front lawn it looked to be right infront like very close to the building. They were saying they werent sure if a stinger missle or something had just got it in time or what.
Guess what the date was it happened.... September 11, 1994.

Whoa, didn't realize this thread was started ages ago when I found it today; however, I have a few stories people might remember - or not -- that still have a lot of mystery surrounding them:

A story about how "friendly fire" (a US missile) most likely took down TWA Flight 800 ; a reporter covering it outlines the intimidation, threats, and thefts of evidence she uncovered --- like a seat cushion from the plane someone had smuggled out to her from the crash site that was proven to have chemicals on it from a missile deployment, not an "equipment malfunction" -- she writes about it in an excellent book of journalists talking about contoversial stories that got them in trouble when they tried to write about them:

Does anybody else remember the discovery of a possible "race" of tiny humanoids, nicknamed Hobbits in the news, in Indonesia? There was a lot of buzz and excitement about a possible new race; then the research on the remains seems to have been purposefully sabotaged and then there was that tsnunami affecting some of that area and you haven't really heard anything new about it since:

And there's the mystery of how newscaster John Chancellor mentioned live on TV after Reagan was shot by John Hinckley Jr. that Scott Hinckley, John's older brother, was friends with Neil Bush, son of then-President George Bush; this family connection to the would-be assassin was NEVER discussed again, even though, had Hinckley succeeded in killing Reagan, Bush would have become President -- so you'd think it would bear examination:

Meanwhile, in Europe far more definitive and damning studies have been done discovering that cell phone use during pregnancy is very bad for the developing babies; this information is widely repressed here in the US and only "alternative" sites have been allowed to even mention it; all you'll find in the mainstream news is massive debunking:

And about depleted uranium....even after the Persian Gulf war (remember the FIRST time we were fuccckking around in Iraq?) deformed babies in Iraq became so common that mothers there were absolutely in fear all the time; imagine how much worse it is now that we've been in there AGAIN for another decade or whatever. You also don't hear about civilian casualties with any of our little wars. I remember reading a human right's group talking about how, within a short period of us being in Iraq this time, I think we had been there somewhere between six months to a year at that point, that there had been AT LEAST one million civilian casualties in Iraq.

How many more since then? How many in Afghanistan?

Amerikkkaaans just waddle along, not giving a flying fuuucckk about anything but the next episode of Honey Boo Boo. We LOVE US our illegal, pointless wars.

The flu thing is no surprise they do this every year to garnish people to go out and spend money on flu shots and for them to buy tamaflu and patronize the doctors. Also I believe there are either mind controlling/altering drugs in them or there is euthenasia medicines in the flu vaccines.

Old WWII flares were dumped in deep water after the war near the west coast of Scotland, and just a few years ago some of them began washing up on beaches there. When wet, they were totally harmless, but when they dried out they started to smoke and burn and flare up! The authorities had to get bomb disposal units in to take them away to be safely disposed of.

It sounds like that family may have found fragments of a phosphorus flare? (there was a military base nearby) The lumps would look like strange wet rocks, but when dried out by the warmth of a pocket could easily have flared up like that?

Shortly after 9/11, anthrax was delevered to 2 senators: Tom Daschle & someone else.

That story dissappeared almost completely from the news.

(I think someone found later that it was produced - apparently, Anthrax has a distinct 'fingerprint' - at Dugway proving grounds, or a lab near there, or something)

I remember it being a huge story, then *poof*.
