Official: U.S. Drone strike kills 8 militants in Pakistan

Pakistani officials say a suspected U.S. missile strike has killed at least eight militants, including German nationals, in Pakistan's northwestern tribal region. Officials said a drone fired two missiles at a building in the town of Mir Ali in North Waziristan late Monday. Some of the militants were said to be German citizens. Pakistan's northwest territory has been named as the source of an al-Qaida-linked terrorist plot in major British, French and German cities.

Its just me that thinks is kinda crazy that none care about the fact about this "preventive policy"? American drones in Pakistan territory bombing? We really live in a crazy world when people (mostly americans of course bc this is american forum) don't care about bombing in other people country.

What would you prefer to wait until they kill your allies? Isn't this the reason for having intelligence agencies?
This seems to have been left out so far:

Five German rebels of Turkish origin and three local militants were killed in the strike

The Taliban couldnt not disagreed with you more. How dare Americans go killing their brothers in Pakistan, they just want a safe haven to regroup and kill more Americans as well as target nations that are participating in Afghanistan!
Just doesn't make sense why American drones are bombing Pakistan.

spot on, but id imagine the cell would already be in europe.... wouldnt it ?

Surely then if it wasnt they could just stop it before it enters...

I think Pakistan is asking for these drone strikes.

Well, there you go. It all depends how "german" those 8 Germans really were. Phew,, sight of relief!

I always have to laugh when the msm or the naive masses try to put Western /European tag on presumed terrorists as if to raise public concerns when the terrorists in question are always of Middle-Eastern origins. What the hell do they think the reactions would be??

Pfft!

So the title of this thread should rather be:

Five German rebels of Turkish origin and three local militants were killed in the strike

Ethnicity STILL matters to the war on terror yo!

Its all sooo skewed....

When did the US declare war on Pakistan??????

Of course, they didnt.........but they might as well have ......

So the circular killings continue....

Amerika continues its War on Terror....bombing Muslims who in turn want revenge by bombing those countries that bombed them initially..

It should come as no surprise to you Amerikans defending these attacks that I think your logic is skewed...badly.

The ridiculous idea that you all seem to be supporting says that in order to reduce terrorism you need to bomb more muslim countries...when infact the opposite will happen...the more muslims you kill(particularly civilians, where the atrocities from Iraq and now Afghan are now filtering out) the more the muslim population wants revenge...which in turn prompts retaliation from the West etc etc...

All the while....innocents are dying.

I think its very poor form indeed, speaking volumes to the depths Amerika has sunk......

When did the Pakistani Taliban declared war on America? The war was confined to Afghanistan and suddenly we got attacks on NATO supplies as well as manpower coming from Pakistan. Hence the drone wars.

Wrong deltaboy....

the drone strikes in Pakistan were first, followed by retaliatory attacks on convoys supplying American troops in A'ghan....which will then result in more drone strikes on "insurgents" which will kill civilians, which will cause retaliatory attacks etc etc.....and so on and so on,whilst military contractors, suppliers and the like rake in the moola....

America is attacking and killing civilians in a country it publicly regards as an ally....

Can you see how sick and twisted its become??

I'm not that surprised!

And in fact! i'm with Slayer on this one to keep myself with the reality!

Listen guys! as an European I also know that many radicical elements lives inside our borders!

But I haver never liked the American "kick ass way" to root them out because innocents are always found among the targets!

Myself! as an former European soldier! I prefer the slower more intense work work to find the guilty ones (or the brainwashed radicals) through good Intelligence work - instead to blow places to smithereens to find a few!

I just travelled through Europe on Airports during this latest threat! - and yes! they frisked me quite good even if I'm golden/blonde European.

They checked everything as I was carrying something!

Well! I'm just like that!

You are wrong, look up where the Taliban came from in the first place. Do you deny that the Taliban are based in Pakistan as well? In the beginning of the war, many in Pakistan went to go to Afghanistan to stave off the invasion but got their butts handed when they retreated back to Pakistan. Now its a safe haven to train and rebuild.

On-topic, were you guys aware that most websites operated by Central Asian militant groups in AFPAK with known German recruits have been knocked offline over the past 3 weeks? Betcha didn't.

Elaborate on this. I don't know exactly what you are getting at.

Despite the news media's lack of overall reporting,
it appears that its not a unilateral - lets drop some bombs on people - type warfare.

It multi-lateral warfare.

Their lines of communication are infiltrated, monitored, then cut.
Their lines of finance are being cut.
Their associates are being arrested.
The people who house them are being arrested.
The property they use is being confiscated.
Their plans are intercepted and exposed publically.

Deltaboy...

Well.... given that the 8 killed in this thread are from Germany, are you suggesting drone attacks there too???

Yeah, send in the drones...Berlin here we come!!

Thats your argument!!

Ridiculously childish...

You fail to realise the US cannot simply attack people within the borders of another country....be it Germany...or Pakistan, and if you do, then you have to realise there may be consequences taking place a lot closer to home than you may be happy with....

It'll get worse before it gets better. While others run around as if there is nothing to worry about, I'll be with the crowd that has some ammo and food stashed.

Could this have been a set up to get Germany in the coming fight against Pakistan?

So you kill 8 jihadist....how many more will this create? Does anyone think you can stamp out an ideology/religion by killing a few militants? Eventually there will be troops in Pak then what?

If one of my family were killed by a drone, bomb, torture, etc, my revenge would be 10 fold and sweet.

Some day it will be all out war, likely world war 3, and at some point someone is going to
consider...

en.wikipedia.org...

Which has 24 Multi warhead nuclear missiles.

en.wikipedia.org...

Making 192 warheads deliverable by a single submarine if they ignore treaties.

The largest nuclear weapon used in anger was 20kt, these can be 475kt, about 24 times stronger.

So it can remain Guerrilla warfare or it can become something the world has never seen.

A truly sad choice, and the tensions keep building amongst various nations for various reasons.

I don't think so. More like a few bad apples went to help some with their twisted view of Islam and the world.
