When I read Stereologist's posts I'm reminded of the character Engywook from 'The Neverending Story". He just couldn't wrap his mind around the Southern Oracle, just as Stereologist or even the scientists that he faithfully relies on cant give definitive answers...

Engywook and his wife Urgl are a quarrelling pair of gnomes who lives close to the location of the Southern Oracle. Engywook is a research scientist who has studied the Southern Oracle and her three gates for most of his life, hoping to publish a book containing his research. However, he has never been to the Southern Oracle himself. Engywook is portrayed as a rather excitable and slightly proud old man. His wife Urgl often gets in his way while brewing potions in a large cauldron, most are for healing wounded people. The two often argue, Engywook referring to Urgl as "wench". Engywook can observe the Riddle Gate, also known as the Sphinxes, from his telescope on a hilltop overlooking the first gate.

People seams to be looking at 2012 from a view point that does not coexist with the Mayan people.

I think the reason a lot of people don't understand the 2012 concept, is because they don't know what a calendar is.

The Gregorian calendar ends as well every year. The Gregorian calendar is about earth 365.2425 days rotation around the sun.

The Mayan Long count calendar ends on WINTER SOLSTICE December 21. 2012 . The Mayans long count calendar does not measure earth rotation around the sun. But how many years it is from one winter solstice to the next.

The Mayans knew exactly how many days and years it would be between each winter solstice. That is what the long count calendar is all about. It is not about the End Of The World. On December 21. 2012 the Mayan calendar will tell you exactly how many days and years it will be until the next winter solstice.

Yah, that whole mindset does sound familiar..
But honestly, I'd be surprised if Stereoboy had a wife.. unless he has a good paying job of course.. women (being driven by estrogen to seek security) will put up with real louts for the sake of having enough money to raise the kiddles. Another good reason to avoid the whole kiddle thing, me thinks! *lol*

Of course, bringing them into the uncertainty today is also another very good reason to hold off. Not like the species is going extinct or anything...

So if I understand from what you're saying, is that the 2012 thing just means it's time for the Mayans to make a new calendar--- for the next long count?

Yes, i know i should have been more accurate. This just say that most people dont have a clue about what 2012 is about.

The Mayans know that from one mid winter day to the next "A year" is exactly 365.2420358 days. 365.2425 Gregorian days.

The HAAB was initiated at 7.13.0.0.0 and 0 Yaxkin. This corresponded to the exact same midwinter day as it did 13.0.0.0.0 back in 3114 BC. So they knew that a solar cycle was more than 365 days when they built the HAAB.

The Mayans observed the Sun and the Dark Rift from a specific location in Mexico "Izapa". On the 7.13.0.0.0 The Mayans had observed that the Sun had passed through the exact same spot in the Dark Rift for the second time since 13.0.0.0.0 back in 3114 B.C

This is also how they were able to calculate a even more accurate year then the Gregorian calculation of how long a year is.

On December 21. 2012 from the same location in Mexico. The Mayans will know that the sun passes through the Dark Rift at the exact same location as it did in 13.0.0.0.0 and 7.13.0.0.0

Its a calendar that tels you exactly how long a solar year from one winter solstice to the next is.

If you wonder why it is so cold right now. It might be good to understand the Mayan solar calendar " The long count" Because they have it all plotted in.

Is the NWO supposed to occur before, after, or *on* Dec. 21. 2012? I actually have reason to believe the end won't come until 2017; the year the Bilderbergs plan on chipping the human race.

The NWO is a group of people plotting the domination of the world.. or ownership of humanity to be more exact. They have lots of plans; some are mostly working, but many crucial ones, like getting our guns away from us, aren't.

If you read back thru the thread (Sorry about all the back and forth-ing between Stereo and I---I know that makes it more challenging), you can see what my take on all this is.. plus I'd point you to my threads, particularly "2012--isn't the NWO having fun with this one?" for more clarity.

And the Bilderberg group is a main component in the NWO bunch... very owned by the ex-jue-sah/currently illuminati. As are all the uber rich and a lot of the world leaders. And they are always about 'reducing' the human population or more aptly put culling us down to manageable size.. for their use. The rest would be toast, if they had their way.

From what I see in the racial unconscious, it was their masters, the alien group that I only hear called "The Star People" who had this fascination with the stars. That group of aliens got stuck here, just as the elves did, when the energy pathways snapped loose as Atlantis went down.

So they were all about watching the sky because they were waiting for their rescue ships to get here.. They also knew about the contract humanity had with the NWO bunch aka ex-alien leadership of the Jue-sah, and figured once we hit that point, all bets were off. They were pretty sure they'd be gone by then, but with that huge of an event, they knew there wasn't any sense bothering with any time map beyond that whether they were here or not, because so much was going to be happening.

They told the native american leadership what they knew but I don't think it really was understood, and since the Star People left around 1000 AD, their humans have done their best to keep the knowledge alive. It has suffered some serious degradation though. The concepts are pretty advanced, and once the humans were left to their own devices, a lot of misunderstanding and misinterpretation occurred and the spirit realm aspects became much more woo-woo, if that makes sense.

But that's why all these cities in the south american mountains were abandoned, but neatly. The star people were good tenents and made sure the place was clean before they left. And without their technology, the humans really couldn't live that well up there.

I've never asked for proof. I've only asked for evidence. Nothing has been offered in support of this fictional group. In fact, I asked for evidence of any group planning to decimate the human population and NOTHING was ever offered.

After a bit it becomes obvious that there is nothing to the claim except falsehoods.

Like I said, I am pretty sure he is here doing exactly what he's being paid to do. He isn't really clever enough to think of any new approaches so he just keeps repeating himself and what few points he thinks he's 'proven'. *shakes head* Pretty sad, really.

You've done a fair job of summarizing your own posts dragonridergirl. Of course, I'm not making any wacko claims about people being paid to tell lies. No. People tells lies in a bumbling attempt to cover up other lies and then more lies need to be told to cover up those lies.

First was the lie about the planned 80% destruction of humankind.
Somewhere along the way was the lie about the journal article.
Then came the ludicrous claim that there are no facts.

Frankly, there really hasn't been any substance to the posts.

And lies.. well, I suppose we need to define what a 'lie' is. Something someone won't bother to prove to you isn't, in my opinion, a lie. An unsupported opinion, perhaps, but lie?? That is a huge leap most people won't make. Gee.. from the postings and the personal msgs I get, everyone must be too 'stupid' to recognize my lies... they all seem to think YOU are the one being dishonest, AND doing your best to manipulate us all.

You made no definition. Maybe the bad LIOS education made you think you did.

You made a claim. You refuse to support it. Why? It's obvious you made it up. Sticking to that story has turned it into a lie. Furthermore, you told a lie about the existence of a journal article.

Maybe the bad teachers at LIOS forgot to inform you that getting atta-boys from others does not made any of falsehoods any different. They are still lies.

What's the big deal? You told a lie and it's out in the open and now you are embarrassed. It happens. Maybe next time you'll consider being truthful.

They way i understand the Mayan concept i am not sure if i can agree with your comment. Personally i don't think Aliens had anything to do with the Mayan culture.

A calendar is a item that is created by a culture or a group of people through time. A calendar is a chart of observed time and changes, that a group of people or a society at a specific geographic location have agree upon. How we determine time is agreed upon.

How time is observed depends on where you live geographically.

When the the Mayans talk about the sun passing through the Dark Rift. The sun is not actually passing through the Dark rift physically, but it appears as if it does when you view it from earth. The Dark Rift is just a known back ground viewed from earth to chart the suns cycle in the sky.

Actually they didn't chart the suns cycle either. The Mayans plotted earth cycle compared to the sun and the Dark Rift.

The Mayans knew about the pression. The Mayans knew that earth spin 360 degrees. This way they could plot that earth wobbles on its axis compared to the sun. They did that by plotting the suns position "height" compared to its location within the back ground of the Dark Rift.

Where did you get this number? It is well known that you can't get this accurate a length of time for a year. Years vary in length because the year is not connected in a fix manner to the rotation of the Earth. The Earth's rotational speed changes, which is the reason for leap seconds. You are expressing too many digits of precision.

Even the 3114BC date is questionable as a starting point since there is no evidence known today that the Mayan civilization existed at that time. If you run some of their calendars back to 0 you arrive at a date that is much older than the age of the universe.

More laughable claims
1. Atlantis - a nonexistent sunken place
2. energy pathways - more unsubstantiated hooey
3. Star people - oh brother, got any evidence for this

But that's why all these cities in the south american mountains were abandoned, but neatly. The star people were good tenents and made sure the place was clean before they left. And without their technology, the humans really couldn't live that well up there.

What technology was required for the habitation of these sites? Here's your chance to do something more than make another unsubstantiated claim.

No actually, Mayans have a lot of calendars, one lasting up to 10 million years I think. They all measure a precise value, and the one that ends on either December 21 2012 or October 28 2011 measures the evolution of the human's consciousness. So actually, TO THEM, it means something important. A lot of people can say nothing will happen, but the Mayans do believe we are entering a new life cycle. So, yeah, it will start over, but there will be a significant event.

Oh and, the Gregorian calendar doesn't end up every years.
