Note - I believe there could very well be an imminant threat going on, I recall a USGS technician telling me a few years back that there is the potential for a supervolcano to erupt and he told me it could damage the area of the western US. Of course, these things are all quite unpredictable I told him, so perhaps their doom and gloom predictions are highly overinflated.

Of course this could just be a drill, or perhaps something as small as sulfur gas emissions which is something they also respond to as well.

It was an elaborate hoax orchestrated by half a dozen people and I got sucked in OMG so sorry guys, you can sleep soundly again Yellowstone might not errupt for at least another few weeks !

Yellowstone Supervolcano Information....perhaps this is legitimate information concerning the geology of yellowstone. (lol, doesn't sound very credible though)

Personally I think I would take that information, cut it up into small squares, and use it for some other purpose than reading.

what he said is 100% accurate, was just about to tell him they were full of it. One of them whispered me during their hoax and assured me it was a put on because I expressed concern over their wellfare.
I am uncertain as to what their reasoning was for being such ok going to leave the colorful adjectives out here, but I am really disappointed in some people right now.
Learning a lesson that ATS may be the only place where ignorance is truly being denied and not endorsed.

Serioiusly, I live 45 minutes North of YS. This fear/doom/were all dead mongering is BS. If that place blows i'm a gonner.

I agree with the false alarm as i live in the Colorado area and that would not be a good thing to happen,And in my opinion some of the stories on God Like production are Hoaxes some time

I second that - GLP should be added to the official list of sources that are "questionable" at best, or downright fraudulent at worst. Right up there with Debka and PressTV.

Not just you my friend. This thing is a global killer, it wouldnt matter how advanced we are. The human race wont survive period... My father worked for the USGS for 30 years here in denver and this thing scared the pants of those guys. There estimates are around 16 feet of ash in the denver area. Wyoming? Probably just a smoking crater if this thing went up. Everyone does know this is the biggest volcano on earth right? It's not a question of if but more like when. This thing will erupt again all the data says it will. Could be today could be a thousand years from now.

I was glad to hear that this was just a hoax, but it's like the boy who cried wolf. Next time I might just say"ehh not another one of these" while the sky is actually falling around me...

Well since this thread is basically dead I don't feel so bad about derailing it to say, maybe we should take an ATS fishing... I mean information gathering trip to check it out for ourselves, and make sure we're all going to make it though the impending eruption.

I agree Whaaa, Don't know if you've been there, but I'll just say, sensory overload And this is one of the best times of the year to fish there, the other being late june/ early july. Sometimes I think all this talk of YS blowing is just a way to keep people away lol. Sometimes I agree, Just Kidding....well not really
