I'm not supporting a generally obstinate attitude by asking this, and I am also not being a troll by asking this, but could you please provide a link so that others may listen and observe what is going on. Can you provide us with more information on the situation at hand. Can you verify your sources? Is it a natural disaster or a downed craft?

Uh oh, I think this is a GLP disaster... I checked it out and seems if there was something REALLY going on, they would be talking about it, but no this is a ruse.

Is the reporters name Charlie Frost?

You don't play games with stuff like this, I have family over that way and am very sensitive, even a small event...

This thread needs to be shut down I am mad I was a hoaxed, but sad I wasted so much energy on it.

OP, never saw your name around. GLP has some voice thing I won't attempt to get on. The words there appear empty, off topic. Next thing will be to see when you joined up? Not trying to mock you. Either you are relaying the truth as you know it, or you are willing to throw away a pretty good name at ats. Can't you make it happen any faster? :-) (first ever emoticon)

Anyway, I'm subconsciously analyzing the dynamics of this thread. Dead Buffalo, dead birds, guy gets arrested and his batteries die in the phone at the same time (phone was confiscated in other words). Military flying all 'round and park rangers there late at night. I will remember this dynamic, whether the caldera blows or not, as an excellent illustrated example of the con-whether you meant it or not-because in my opinion, it is a good one. It has all the elements.

However, in my opinion, you have some 'splainin to do. Those sights were relayed in a 'I am close to the action' envelope, and now while rangers work late in to the night, you say that you'll have info later in the day. Something's not right. Please elaborate. As many have said...NOT a thing to play around with.

First of all, Yellowstone sits on top of a caldara, and the area the supposed reporter was in is a hot spring, the smell of sulfur would not be abnormal under those circumstances. You would think a "reporter" would have done a little more research. Dead animals all around the area would indicate to me that there was some kind of release of CO2 that was trapped beneath the surface. *shrug* doesn't really seem that odd to me for some reason. . If it was a CO2 release I wouldnt doubt there would be measures taken to make sure there were no people in the area i.e., helicopters and planes flyin around. GLP always seemed a bit shady to me anyway, I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Just sayin

If there is anything going on the USGS has it well covered with a new thermal sensor network. I don't see them claiming anything is going on. Besides the article from the DOI/USGS below, there is the recent quake list here:
earthquake.usgs.gov... and it doesn't show anything happening either to be alarmed about.

Here is the live Earthquake Seismic Station Location Map for the Yellowstone Area Information Center. You can click on any station and then the date and see the live seismograph recordings for that stations seismograph recording.

By the looks of the up to the minute seismographs in the area, if this was an ECG in the Hospital, this patient would be dead!

That's the seismo at Little West Thumb, very close to Pots Hot Springs. Not a thing.

And as usual, I am also near realtime live monitoring 4 seismic stations in YS. All's quiet.

I'm sorry, but when I read there was a reporter on site @ YS, I couldn't help but picture the crazy conspiracy theorist from the movie 2012. You know? The character played by Woody Harrelson.

Though sadly in the flick, it turned out that this crazies predictions were right on par with the catastrophe that transpired. Let's do hope that's not the case here, right?

Not that this anonymous reporter has put forth any explanation or theory, that I know of, as to the mechanism causing the events he's supposedly reported on.

You know I would, at the very least, verify his credentials and do a little research on this "reporter" before heading for the hills.

Naturally a claim like this has the tendency to be majorly blown out of proportion. When they hit the interwebz though, and get rehashed a thousand times, the original story gets trés bloated and distorted from the original claim.

It's like that whisper game we all played in grade school. You know, when one starts by whispering a secret or piece of specific information to the person beside them. It's then repeated to the next person, and so on and so forth until it reaches the last person in the room.

By the time it gets to that final person, and they announce out loud what was told to them, it's morphed into something totally different from what was initially whispered at the start of the game.

As with the game, this is probably the case we have here.

I'm just going to sit here calmly, hoping we don't get any kind of confirmation on this guy's story.
