New Rules for Avatars and Mini-Profile Backgrounds (Updated Opening Post: 2016)

Right now, I can't upload any avatars. There is a note after I click that takes me to www.nextlevelbull.../

Whats up with that?

My Avatar photo is gone and it seems like there's no way for me to access an album or to upload another. I heard there was work on the site over the last few days. Any suggestions out there from someone with admin. knowledge?

Alternately, you can click the link in my signature to get some help with avatar issues from kind members, should it not be a technology issue.

while i am all for ATS members free speech and " artistic " latitude

there seems to be an increasing number of people who think its " cool " to have text and background the same colour [ so you cannot read text ] or use a text that disapears into the picture

Anyway, wanted to bumb this as the OP was somehow informative.
But I got lost in search for a good advice.

So... for starters,

we just need to keep 3 things in mind to get the background-pic working nice and smoothly.

1. Save your pic as GIF, 200x400px up to 200x700px (max 100K size)
2. Upload your pic to your files and hit the little 'square' on the top-right in the browser window with said pic.
2. go to 'account' and put the following link in the first line of those two in 'your avatar' (default ATS avatar)
files.abovetopsecret.com...

Just a spacer to increase the size of your avatar-window I guess, but I don't ceres. It works!

Nowadays that can be found by clicking on the "down" arrow in the top line (two to the right of MyAts), when a new line of icons will appear, and then clicking on "Account".

Mod Edit Spam

so im trying to upload a new avatar and i use adblock. i understand when i use adblock i cant upload a new avi however i paused it and it still would not let me upload a new avatar up to 30 mins later. what gives? i saw all the lovely ads you wanted me to see but was not given end of the deal (being able to upload a new picture for my avatar.) please fix this because its highly irritating. thanks

can anyone help me fix my avi??? I originally uploaded too big,,,and took me a little time to figure out the right way... the right one is the right size...but I have 3 dulicate parts of it ,

it seems the bigger my post, the more parts keep duplicating and I don't know how to get rid of them??? I don't understand why the old stuff didn't totally disappear when I fixed it.

I have a question unworthy of its own thread.

Since the new avatar improvements I have noticed:

Several members either intentionally or not have camouflaged-

Their username by matching the color of their avatar.

It's really obnoxious trying to play ink dots to know who you are reading.

One time I did it on accident for five minutes and got a mod warning.

Maybe people don't know their ID is completely unreadable.

I suspect some are intentional...
