I am still going to complete it. I paid for the software, and have everything layed out and ready to render. But I am doing something wrong and am trying to figure it out.

HOW do I get a GIF image everything on the entire planet is in JPEG??? Why can't we use jpeg? I can't fix my mini background and I need to know how to get my pic to be gif, pleas please help.

I cant presently see any avatars on ATS I am new member so is there set amount of posts i have to make before i can view or them or plse whats going on?

Check your account settings to ensure the avatars aren't hidden, choose the white circle arrow (pointing down next to the log out icon) and select account. There's an option to show them or hide them. Hope that helps.

Yes the the option is on "Show" for both types of avatar.This is definitely something else,any other ideas!
I have tried to allow full cookie options but that didnt make any difference either. Does the site work well with most browsers i am using google chrome. Any browser you would recommend? If its any help diagnosing i can see my own avatar in my Account and Profile area but cant see it in threads nor can see anyone elses in threads.

Help much appreciated thanks for the first response.

It's should show "hide" on the account settings, it's a little confusing but hit show on both and you will see the avatars. When you see "show" the avatars are hidden, when you see "hide" the avatars are visible. The account setting should look like above.

Ok got it now i thought when the graphic was "show" I thought it meant "show" for the present mode but it was the other way around. that doesnt seem to make much sense to me it should be the other way around,but any way its now working. Thankyou.

I find it highly distracting and usually skip the entire post because of it.

On the subject of avatars, I notice another member is using mine, one I have had for years and which a friend made for me.

This is not cool, at all.

Have you written the member about this? As long as it was made specifically for you by a friend I'd imagine they'd be nice about it. Maybe they didn't know. I change avatars once in awhile, but have kept this one for awhile. Not designed by a friend though, which was nice of them to do.

I don't get on here much any more, as I have other irons in the fire so to speak, which involves a research group I belong to.

This is the other member - to say I was a bit shocked when I saw the avatar is understating things.
I spoke to the guy who did it for me, and it seems he uploaded it to an avatar page, so maybe that's where this guy got it from
