It was on flat ground headed towards a resevoir that is maybe 20 yards from the print. i am a size 11 and when i put my fut next to it there was a difference of about 3 inches so i would say it was 14 inches long.

Bigfoot? As far as I am concerned, I think it is a yarn of fiction. To live all these years in the Pacific Northwest, and among loggers, hunters, and others, and none have been caught, killed, or found dead? Moreover, all we have is the video you analyzed for us, and some circumstantial evidence from eye witnesses. Wouldn't we have found more trace evidence such as hair or nail clippings to do DNA analysis?

Everything I have seen on the topic is often full of more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. I am not ruling out anything regarding the creatures existence, but at present I am a skeptic. Still, the world is a big place and we often think science has got many of the unknowns solved, but there are still things that allude them to this day. If the creature was ever found, it would win someone the Nobel Prize. Right now, all we have is some interesting stories from those who claim they have seen them, heard them, or have found evidence they claim is associated with Bigfoot. Perhaps the creature is hunkered down in the secluded forest hideaway of fiction and having a ball as we search long and hard for a figment of man's imagination?

For what its worth, the story makes for some good old fashioned folklore and decent conversation around a campfire. Star and Flag, Slayer!

Well I don't know what to say, I don't have evidence and i am not sure what to think, but I can tell you that many areas where I live CA/OR border area coast, if you try to walk anywhere but a trail...you simply will break your neck... there are huge trees fallen over time and covered with forest matter and ferns, it is a mine field of deep holes and you can't tell what's solid. Before moving here 12 years ago i was accustom to just walking in the wild off trail. Not fun to try thathereand you can't see an animal a few yards away with the dense growth. I know I was almost killed by a bull elk!
Secondly I ran into a weird situation a few years ago. I forced my husband into an "adventure" traveling along a stream in the forest, this is really hard work too as you have to crawl under and over fallen trees sometimes huge trees and the moss and ferns are slippery you always get scratched up and bruised. Anyway it was mid winter and cold and very wet. We made out way along the water, took hours into the boonies, we reached a 90 degree turn in the stream where the water cut a deep pool, across the pool maybe 8 ft wide there was a bank straight up about 10-12 ft high only mud a few ferns and moss clung here and there.
In the water abour 3 ft from our side was a perfect foot print no shoe, the stream was fast and the print was soon gone so we just missed the maker. The thing is there was just the one print, nothing in the sand on our side or no disturbance of the branches and shrubs before the stream the print was aimed at the deep side and the cliff. I took a picture of the print, it only looked like my husbands size about a 13 W foot, I waded out into the deep water so i could see the other side and half way up the muddy cliff face above my 5'4 head was like a hole like if my knuckles had punched it...or a bare foot stuck in its toes. That would make the jump a real WOW from the print in the water to the cliff face. I wanted to go back the way we came and make our way up their, but my husband wanted to go home. so we did. I have the picture its sharp but it is just a mans footprint thats all it shows under the clear water. SO I don't know what to think..what nut would make their way out there bare foot in the winter cold. I have never seen a person out in the forest there in winter.

Okay, I haven't read your thread yet... But I wanted to say first that I dreamed about a Big Foot last night!!! Back in the 70's I was afraid of Big Foot... Seriously, I thought it lived in my woods. Anyways, last night in my dream, it was there, and I was trying to scream and NOTHING would come out... I tried several times, I would open my mouth, but there was nothing!!!

That's interesting my sister has been afraid of BF all her life, I can't say why, i mean it is not something you would think about all the time just when your in the woods or wilderness maybe but she has been scared even at home. She is in her 30's.

Based on an experience from my late father, I think Bigfoot - or something like it - does exist.

This comes from my mother, as I was not born when this happened. One evening/night after being around a local wooded area, my father told her what he saw. It was a large hairy creature (upright, walking on two legs), and upon seeing it he shot it several times with a pistol. The creature only "grunted" and proceeded to to walk over a fence.

I will be going out looking (as opposed to hunting) for a susquatch in a couple of weeks. I am more worried about wild hogs and big cats that the squatch. I think animals seem to know when you are out to do them harm. Many native Americans seem to believe they are watchers and keepers of the forest, a big brother or husband of the earth. I would simply want to observe one. I think you put out different odors depending on intention. How one moves in the woods is very important. Running and falling causes you to sweat more and the momentary fear when falling is a shockwave that animals can sense.
I think they would be very dangerous if you were out to shoot them or if you wounded one. Although they are often seen as solitary, they might be able to communicate distress over long distances. Some researchers are now interested in the idea of infasound production, much like elephants use. The vocal chords and lung capicity of the BF is large enough to support that type of sound production.

well I've been setting here for a good bit and have went through every thread to some degree or another and I didn't see the one glaring point, that point is that there can't just be a handfull of these creatures there has to be dozens and dozens if not hundreds to have a breeding population. Without this they would just die out. Same goes for Nessie, can't have just one thing swimming about, it's going to die eventually. I really really want this to be real, but until a live one or a dead one is captured I'm still speculative

Very good info, I really enjoyed reading it.
On another note. your title reminded me of this dude on an episode of iCarly.
He was a bigfoot expert, promoting a book. Bigfoot: Fact or true?
Oh and they were also looking for a beavcoon, half beaver, half raccoon.
Now as far as I know thats completely fictitious...

You have a valid point. One that requires some serious investigation, or at least thought.

For it to be a viable population it must have a fairly substantial population in fairly close proximity to each other. But if it has fallen below viability, how long would it take for the final creature to die? Hundreds of years? Perhaps thousands? I don't know. It is my belief, and I hope I'm wrong, that Bigfoot, or by anyother name used globally, is a dying breed. It will, I fear, become extinct in the not too distant future.

A combination of events, I think, will be the culprit.

The rise of a superior species. Man.
The loss of habitat condusive to easy breeding. Man, again. Though not, perhaps, completely.
It's own low birthrate. Though this is, of course, mere conjecture.

I hope they are not on the road to extinction. I agree that there needs to be a breeding population. One theory is that they are capable of communication via infrasound. This would allow long distance communication. Elephants use it. Most sightings are young males or solitary males. Females with young may be far more reclusive than the male. The PG film is a young female. That makes it even more rare. She seems to have a leg injury. Perhaps that is why she decided to amble across the opening and not run. No one has been able to establish a migratory or a territorial area. There has been certian individuals that distictive footprints found in diverse areas, but the data is not enough to draw sound conclusions.
I don't think we will know until we can sedate one and put a tracking device on it, providing they are not smart enough to take it off.

I really wish...cough, hint....S69..someone..please!

With better PC skills than myself ..would give the Aquatic Ape Theory some attention...

It just all falls into place, if the aquatic ape theory is used...

A nocternal, river animal....would rarely if ever be seen, could easily cover 100's of miles a day.
Follow migratory foods, be near high populations and still not be seen.

I could see where a 600-800 lb animal ..would also like the water for support of the mass of the body size. IMO.

No one seems interested in what goes up/down our streems, after dark....
I spent many years running traps along creeks, and coon hunting @ night..but a coon hunter WILL keep prized dogs away from water, "a coon will drown a dog fast!"
In short, very very few actually spend fafter hours...traversing a river, and if they do, they darn sure are not stealthy about it...IMO.

Aquatic Apes sightings"sasquatch" ...as represented on a big map...seam to "IMO" follow this theory...reports..are almost always near water "running" and you can use the sighting reports to the zoom in on areas of high reports and see they follow rivers...almost as high as 95% random # yes I'm guessing..

As for a comparison..look at a map of known Native american camps, those camps, are very very similar to where sasquatch has been sighted/reported. They lived along the rivers of life.

Anyways enough babble from me, I just don't have the research, PC skills to do what I consider a properly put together thread, that could be well worth a members time....using maps, and such to back up a few of the items I presented...."there are many many more" I only posted a few..please take this and run with it....someone..

Not to meantion, I do believe, this theory has and is overlooked, and may help some to open "new avenues" of the topic.

I think they were spoted near native camps because that's where the people were. You won't have many sightinlgs where there are not many people.

There may be a bit of truth to your suposition, doc.

I think that river/creek courses play a large roll in their movements...can't really prove it, but if I had to guess, I'd say a large portion, if not the majority, of sightings did/do/and will take place near a river/creek. Mine did. ...and the sightings in the past in this area all have a creek nearby.

It's an interesting supposition, deserving of a gander.

Bigfoot/Sasquatch are real. I've seen one three times in my life. Once when I was 14 in the Redwood National forest. it was about 7 to 8 feet tall with black thick hair. The second was yesturday 7 miles north of big Lagoon on hwy 101. I pulled over to pee in a ditch and it stood up right in front of me. It must have been about the same size maybe 9 feet tall and a dark reddish brown. The third was tonight on hwy 138, about 30 miles east of Reedsport it kinda walked jumped across the road. From what I saw, it was around 9 feet tall I guess. It was as tall as a road sign and black. The smell is the worst thing I have ever smelled, and those vocals they play on TV is the real deal.

So you had two sightings of presumably two different Sassys in the same day in addition to having seen one previously? You, my friend, should play lotto more.

For me, absolutely fact. I got a decent look at one 5 years ago at 30-40 yards for about 30 seconds. I am absolutely convinced they are very real.
