It might help to be a little more specific about what we're voting on

For instance:

Am I homosexual? --no
Do I think homosexual sex is okay? --yes
Do I think homosexuality is a "choice"? --no
Do I think gays have the right to marry, and that such marriages should be legally recognized on the same basis as straight ones? --yes

this makes it much easier. just mark me as ditto on all these.
*2nd verse same as the first.

Edit: I will say though I don't think this thread is necessary the only reason I commented is because based on the incident in the other thread on this topic you (number38) seemed a little put off to ATS because some people were being ignorant.. but yes, this is definitely BTS stuff, if even that.

As long as they are of legal age and consenting adults I could care less. My point is, even if I personally would'nt do it, it isnt my place to judge anyone else. Whatever makes ya happy.

Yeah, that's a good point: you don't necessarily have to like something yourself to be tolerant of it. I don't like Polka music, but that doesn't give me the right to tell someone else they can't listen to it .

Well, I have an answer, but not to the question you asked. To imply that homosexuality is outside of us, as in "us" and "them", is wrong. Everything in our world, within our view, is a reflection of us. So to hate or to love a homosexual lifestyle would be to hate or love a part of ourselves.

I think the more philosophical approach to this would be WHY is it occurring, and IS it natural? As such, what is going on within us that is causing this? As another thread already touched on, it [homosexuality] does not promote procreation, but can invoke genuine love between two humans. The energies are not correct, however, as female energy is yin, and male energy is yang. The two are opposites and naturally attract. If then, we have two similar energies (whether yin and yin or yang and yang), attracting and bonding, I think that's something to raise an eyebrow with and needs further exploration beyond superficial ideas such as "do you agree" or "don't you agree".

How or why would two similarly charged particles attract? In nature, it is impossible....UNLESS...one or both of the objects are reversing their polarity, (from male to female, or female to male). Interestingly, the earth is also undergoing a slow shift in polarity. So do humans mimic the earth, or does earth mimic humans?

While I appreciate the OP's respectful approach, I still think it's a waste of time and energy to stand and stare at the outside of a building, and talk about it's odd architecture, without ever wandering inside to marvel at the details. Understand yourselves first, then we will understand what is happening in the world. Agreeing or disagreeing makes no difference....it's like looking in a mirror and saying you do or don't like your nose. It is a part of you, like it or not....now let's figure out WHAT part, and why it's happening.

For the record, I'm straight. While I find homosexual relations to be personally distasteful, I do have many gay friends whom I love like family.

this is my argument why i personally think its wrong.
then i will never speak another word on ats about it.

The main question is this and it piss's me off to always hear it..thus why i say homosexuality is a sickness.

And here is my logic to why it can never be true.

Can you be born a cuckold fiend?

There is not even a homo gene.

Maybe you was born with less testosterone or to much for girl's.
That is a medical condition not homosexuality.

I have doubts whether homosexuals should be allowed to raise children in some more backwards societes, because the child could be bullied for it. In societes where homosexual parents are accepted, I have no problem with it.

Sexual fixations develop in early childhood. There's plenty of crosschecked and verified research on the topic floating around. Do a little digging.

Theres a homosexual issue? I am not aware of one neither do I give a damn what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home, or who they company and love with outside. In the case of gay marriage? First of all marriage has no place in government as it is considered a religious ceremony. I don't see any issue with two responsible and good people in love, in a partnership, adopting and getting married.

But among those men and women, some are homosexuals, which I believe were born.

Believe me, homosexuals are among the kindest people in the universe.

Please do not confuse them with perverts, although of course some may be.

But I have spent time with a lot of people and at least homos know how to have fun!

You misunderstand. I don't consider fetishists "perverts." I've said it before and I'll probably have to say it again: there's as many types of sexuality as there are people on earth, most people just don't want to admit they like it a little weird. Either we're all pervs or none of us are.

First I find this whole subject just a little creepy and most confusing. Let me explain. It is the issue of society and human sexuality. First I do see your or my sexuality relevant in whether or not you should treat anyone any differently. Unless you intend to express yourself to me or another in my presence. I believe my and your sexuality is a personal matter. The problem lies in who should teach our children and what we are teaching them. Should we treat people differently due to sexuality, race, culture etc. The answer is YES. Of course we teach our children to be mindful and respectful of others and that they sometimes will have to modify their behaver so as not to offend or even entice others. The issue is different is not the same as unfairly or unjustly and we sometimes have trouble seeing the difference.

I think the wrong question is being asked here.

The real question should be:

Who would like to declare themselves a homophobe?

Either question the answer is the same

I do not personally believe in marriage for gays or anyone- But before I get beaten up over my view let me explain - I do think that people can find life long relationships bound in love and mutual respect etc - Some animals do this such as turtle doves in order to work in partnership for the sake of their young - Do they need a legal piece of paper from the state or church in order to reproduce
- Marriage certificate = Sex Licence. This is it's religous foundation of control which many do not proscribe to today of course.
If two people are allowed to marry then why cant 3 people marry each other or 4 or 5 or all.
Many will stop reading at this point and that of course is fine- Free Choice I say.
So many people who marry tire of being possesed by another and once the fun goes out of the partneship years of misery ensues and when one wishes to break the bond they are mostly frowned upon.
Those born outside of marriage are called Bastards. Leonardo Da Vinchi was a famous Bastard and gay too. Because he was a bastard he was not alowed to receive any formal education - He said that he was grateful not to recieve any formal education because it meant he had to Think for himself ie not parrot his elders and betters
