ATS 2010 Updates Thread - #(UPDATE Nov. 10)#

A significant upgrade to the profile page is now available. An option to view threads started by a member's friends is now functioning... which means, when you go to your own profile, you can see the threads your friends started.

This one has also been a long-time coming.

Mmm, I added a couple of folks as friends as there's now the option in the mini profile drop-down menu, but I can't seem to find where such list is displayed in the profile page or any green bar on their avys.

Love this feature btw.

The left side toolbar is epic.

I was just complaining that it was tiresome to go through several screens before getting to your profile.

The left and right toolbars are really an AWESOME idea but what about a toolbar that follows your scroll at the end of the page?

I've seen in many websites, mostly blogs, a feature similar to a toolbar that you can click to hide and appear in any given time, you have a box that follows your scrolling through the page and when you want to quick acess an area of the site you can just click it to expand into a toolbar giving you the options...

I don't remember which website I saw that feature but here goes a paint-made example:

The side toolbars should remain stationary despite your scroll.

These persistent "supporting menus" have been part of the plan, but I wanted to make sure these things didn't detract from the vertical real estate devoted to threads and posts... that's why they're on the sides.

Just got in and had to add my appreciation and "bravos".

The side bars are completely awesome, very attractive, just perfect.
I've already been checking it out to find: my friends make the best threads. I love that feature, and found it as a very pleasant surprise.

They seem to only appear in threads though, is there an option to have them show up all the time?

Such as the Recent Posts page for example?

The bars are genius. The colors add a slight touch of aesthetic appeal, which is important to me (content is more important, but the aesthetic appeal makes it easier to spend more time on ATS, if that is a good thing).

I, too, would like to see them on other pages, such as MyATS. MyATS is my "launch page". I have that page bookmarked on my toolbar, and it is the page i leave open in a tab on my browser.

But the redesign is an example of beauty bred from a symbiotic relationship between a visionary web development team, and the membership. Your responsiveness to the requests of the members is to be applauded. Thank you.

Brilliant bars! Definitely needs to be on myats and recent pages.

When I click "Current Topics" on the side panel, the popup layer is partially transparent and some of the content from the layer underneath bleeds through.

When you first introduced it, I noticed it was partially transparent for a while, then it seemed to get fixed and it was opaque, but now its gone back to being partially transparent again.

Anyone else notice this?
