If you guys don't like Beck, why don't you ignore him? Instead of digging around him just to pull up all this crap that angers you? Why don't you turn the other cheek and just let him go? I don't necissarily mind him, and my family loves him. My sister also loves Stewart though. Not too sure here, but maybe you're just all jealous that he's getting a lot of money in a way that you don't like? But who am I to say?

Sorry, but that's a ridiculous comparison. You can't ignore Beck because he's in the news all the time making outlandish and/or inflammatory comments. Jon Stewart doesn't make his living labeling, insulting and demonizing people he disagrees with. Jon Stewart doesn't predict the catastrophic downfall of our nation if we don't follow him. Jon Stewart doesn't make ridiculous delusional comparisons, like comparing Obama to Hitler.

The simple fact is that Beck is nothing but a charlatan and a huckster. He is politically and historically ignorant (frighteningly so for somebody who is on the most watched cable news network). But he knows there is a group of people out there that just can't get enough of liberals being called names. They don't usually know much about issues. They want their news to be entertaining. They like insults, ridicule, assigning blame for all manner of tragedies, and accusations about what people really think (which are always so obviously self-serving it's incredible they can't see it). They typically don't read much and have frighteningly simplistic views of other people, cultures and mind-sets.

But the way I look at it, and I'm sorry to have to say this, if Beck and Palin and the kind of people who think like them can actually get elected, then that's what the people of America deserve.

You have proved that Opinions are indeed like armpits. Everyone has them and they all stink.

I think you need to wake up. Anyone who actually listens to Glenn Beck, can see the flaws in every single statement you made. You are acting like a talking point commando. Picking and choosing and regurgitated statements to further Your agenda, hate against Glenn and the right, is not the way to do it. He does not want the GOP back in power, because they are no better then the DNC. If you really listened, you would know and understand that. He does not think he is MLK. He has said this many a time. If you listened, you would know that.

I get it, you don't like the guy. Don't tell lies to prove your point. It makes you look foolish. Instead, point out the actual discrepancies in Beck's positions. He says so and so is acting like a communist and shows you the proof. You don't agree, go Show the proof of the opposite! Don't attack credibility, that just makes you less credible to everyone your trying to sway to your opinion. Show proof. Regurgitating hateful talking points is not proof.

I really love those t-shirts with MLK and BO.. They have been floating around before he was elected. Amazingly since he has been in office, no more powerful speeches and promises that can be slightly compaired to MLK.

I'm sure most people find those t-shirts slightly disturbing but you won't mention that.

Lot's of great generalities in your post. How about some specifics! Give examples of "outlandish and/or inflammatory comments", give specifics as to what makes him a "charlatan". Cite examples of "political ignorance" and/ or "historical ignorance".

Coming from someone who has the Triquetra for an avatar? Hahaha...

You do know the history behind the Triquetra, right?

(1) It was originally created by the Celtic pagans.

(2) Catholic Church later adapted the symbol for spiritual symbology, and uses it to represent the Holy Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(2) After the Catholic Church adapted the symbol, Wiccans decided to adopt the symbol for themselves. It represents the three powers of their Goddess.

All this was established around 12th, 14th, and 17th century. Technically, your statement towards Glenn Beck is hypocritical.

Similar to how people for voted for Obama? Without digging into the facts? Another hypocritical statement.

Comparing Obama to Hitler isn't outlandish and inflammatory? Using his position to sell people overpriced gold coins isn't a charlatan? Not knowing the date and time MLK gave his speech isn't political ignorance? Being unaware that congress was not televised before the 1980s isn't historical ignorance? (he was trying to find early speeches Robert Byrd made in congress in the 1960s and when he couldn't find them suggested there had been a conspiracy to hide them -- what a dolt).

Those are examples YOU should be aware of. It's not like they weren't in the news.

The sky often appears blue. Do you require specifics for this phenomenon, as well? Arguing by expressing an insincere need for proof is not arguing. There are examples throughout this thread of the subject's political ignorance, outlandish behavior, inflammatory comments and especially, historical ignorance. The inability to comprehend these is indicative of one's agenda, but it is not indicative of Beck's respectability.

He did not boil a live frog on his show. He showed the next day that he didn't actually do it. It was slight of hand. He was trying to make a point and used a prop to do so. I guess props shouldn't be allowed?

I know he is putting on quite a show with one of Dr. King's nieces as a guest and pretending to be for justice and equality for all but he along with Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and many others are card carrying members of the White Patriot Party, and the Aryan Brotherhood.

Actually I don't know if they have the card on them but I do know from their action, rhetoric, inconsistencies and direction this is what they actually are and this is the UNDERLYING agenda they are seeking to promote and foster.

Any appearance of equality or tolerance of other religions and races is just that; FOR APPEARANCES.

I don't know of anyone who thinks he's the Devil.

Instead of joining Glenn Beck at the Lincoln Memorial, to encourage unity, Obama was still taking a vacation. Hahaha...

Yeah, back in the day, you'd often see William Buckley or Noam Chomsky or whomever else respectfully dissected and discoursed on politics and society engaging in similar tactics involving ... props ... and juvenile delinquent-style antics involving defenseless amphibians and technological cheating. This is kinda the point. He's a putz of the highest order.

Actually, yes we have.

Bringing religion into politics is nothing new. It should still be fresh in the memories of WWII veterans alive today. Read Adolf Hitler's heartfelt testamonial to Jesus:

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison.

Gott mit uns (God is with us) was the popular slogan which the Nazi Wermarch had inscribed on their belt buckles. This was the cry which unified the German people to rise up against anyone suspected of not being pure enough for their vision. What Beck is doing is no different than the assinine ravings of Josef Goebbels

The dreams of his youth had been realized. He had entered the soul of his people as a man and as the Führer.

New Years - 1938-39

As long as we are speaking of miracles, it is worth asking why the National Socialist government has been so blessed with miracles, but not its predecessors. In those preceding governments, there was usually a party that never tied of maintaining that it had particularly close relations with God. Still, there were no miracles. They waited for one. They did not happen.

New Years 1940-41

The homeland and the front form a big family as we bid farewell to a year that was full of challenges, but also of big historic victories. The German people bows in praise before the Almighty, who has so clearly blessed us in the past year by standing by us in battle and crowning our weapons with victory. He knows that we are waging this war for a better peace, that we are fighting for the happiness of people who have so often been oppressed by their governments.

Christmas 1941

There is probably no one among us who in this hour does not look up to heaven. The war has taught us not only be to strong against our enemies, but also to accept our fate and the will of its godly ruler. We thank the Almighty for the proud victories that he again has given us. We will continue fighting until total victory is ours.

Ultimately, however, it was Beck’s call for a religious rebirth that dominated. He urged the throngs to “recognize your place to the Creator” and to “realize that He is our king.”

“He is the one who guides and directs our life and protects us,” Beck said, his voice rising. “I ask, not only if you would pray on your knees, but pray on your knees with your door open for your children to see.”

Yes, Glenn... what you're really saying is that God is with YOU and those who follow you, right? Next, we'll be seeing the belt buckles.

Well, we knew Obama was going to be a moderate and was going to have a tough struggle against the damage left by the Neocons and a struggle against Republicans in congress who want to destroy the country so they can return to power. Sure, he hasn't been as progressive as some had hoped due to the many problems, but the only people that really seem to express voter remorse and shock over what he has done are the ones that never voted for him.

Now, Glenn Beck really comes across as a snake oil salesman. Wrapping his message of change in religion and nationalism. That somehow turning the country into a theocracy and buying Beck's books we will return to a religious crime free America that never existed. Regardless of the outcome, he will be a richer man.

I agree, but it's not like he is going to be off television or radio anytime soon so it does no good to bitch about it.

That's why there is BBC, CNN, MSNBC, ABC and CBS news.

Unless people just feel like tuning in to watch something they hate.
