Regardless of what we may think about the man, he does lead the industry as far as ratings. He is broadcasting a distorted message to a large audience. To simply ignore his influence would be a huge mistake. I am happy that political comedians like John Stewart take on the issues.

The direct answer to your question is that he has followers. If he was going the wrong direction alone, then I would have no problem with his message. However, he is taking people with him.

His new religious tone is particularly frightening.

glenn beck reminds me of the preaching reporter from the movie network,
i'm sure alot of the ATS crowd has probly seen network, but if you havnt then.

www.youtube.com...

only i think beck much better fits the way that reporter preached AFTER he got a strong talking to by one of the elites, he fell in line.

the strong talking too here, -

www.youtube.com...

after this scene glenn beck...oops i mean 'mr beale' just preaches the way the elites want him too,
in the movie unlike reality it doesnt work and his popularity drops people stoped watching him, and the network hired assasin's and had him killed, on air.

maybe if glenn beck looses popularity fox might assasinate him,

I just don't like the fact that he tried to be a MLK.

He's more of a Hitler :p.

Glenn Beck is first and foremost an entertainer. However, he has brought light to things in the Obama Regime that would have other wise stayed in the dark (Van Jones for instance). The main thing to keep in mind is he is bringing people together for a cause. Were there 300,000-500,000+ people willing to gather in one place for a cause during any of the last recent presidential Regimes? I wish there were more Glenn Becks in the world to stand up to our out of control leaders. Hopefully our leaders see stuff like this and get the message to start listening to the will of the people.

For the record, I don't listen to Glenn Beck anymore. He got too churchy and showy for my tastes. I do respect his ability to unite people. I also believe that its people like this that will lessen the impact of what is about to come. I also believe its people like this that are slowing our decline into communist slavery. For that they have my thanks.

Some of your talking points were covered in this previous thread.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Essentially, some of the evidence points to the fact that Glenn Beck may be a pawn of the Mormon Church (LDS) and is infact trying to bring about an end-time Mormon prophecy by causing a near dissolution of our society here in the United States.

What I would like to know is why anyone would 'elect' someone who calls himself the 'messiah'?

We can play this rhetorical game all day.

No one has called Glenn Beck a savior. Unlike how Obama has been called the Messiah, Glenn Beck has been trying to keep himself down to Earth.

Someday temptation may begin its web of deception, but hopefully he has enough in himself to keep a level head. If he does slip over to the darkside, people will not forgive him for manipulating the masses.

Or the second coming of Jesus?

Beck does nothing for America's public relations. In fact, the entire Fox channel could quite possibly destroy any chance of turning world opinion on America around.

Mr. Beck is trying to promulgate the philosophy of MLK and not be him. Do you or don't you believe the we should judge a man by the content of his character not the color of his skin? That's really his bottom line.

Is he a showman? Of course. He presents very serious topics, some bordering on the existential to our country, in a very entertaining way.

Nearly every post in this thread is a personal attack. Obviously there seems to be a dearth of intellectual fire power to counter his information on a point by point basis.

Making this thread an ATS version of Moveon or MSNBC is not very entertaining either.

at least Beck is doing something

I don't see a single one of you people
(me included) doing anything to get this
country back on track.

The Revolution needs leaders whom the people
will follow. Give us leaders and we shall have Revolution.
But until folks step up to the plate instead of sitting
on the bench, the likes of Beck remain in the
spotlight.

Right or wrong, he is at least doing something
to thwart tyranny. I give him credit for that.
And with 750K, that is enough for a Revolution
not even counting the millions who could not attend
the event.

And on certain points I do agree with him. This
country does need to get back to God and faith.
We use to stand on "In God we trust"
now we stand on "In political correctness we trust".
In God we trust built a great nation
and political correctness has destroyed it.

But what do I know?
I'm just a dumb hillbilly redneck!!!
But a Christian, none the less.

My favorite Glenn Beck quote "anyone who believes anything I say is an idiot".

Some of the stuff he comes up with is quite decent, 98% of it is pure claptrap.

You want the REALLY scary version? Palin / Beck 2012. It could happen. If Americans elect that ticket, I'm leaving the planet at the earliest opportunity.

Beck rejects running with Palin

“I don't know what Sarah's doing, [but] I have no desire to be president of the United States, zero desire,” Beck said.

“I don't think that I would be electable."

But Beck didn't offer an early endorsement to Palin, either, saying: "I'd like to find [a presidential candidate] one with some honor and integrity, I haven't seen them yet, but they'll show up."

Beck just has to keep himself on solid ground; thus, he needs to try and keep things rational. Hopefully, Beck has the ability to not get swept up within the moment.

Even though I like some of the things he does, I will keep watching for that one moment where pride surfaces. I will judge him according to how he handles himself.

Who says anyone is threatened by him?

You? Glenn Beck? Rush Limbaugh?

Just because we find him and his pathetic few hilariously sad and miserable doesn't mean we're THREATENED.

I'd feel threatened by a vicious snarling dog that is foaming at the mouth.

When Glenn Beck starts foaming at the mouth, i just switch the radio station, because it must be time for Sean Hannity.

Why is Glenn Beck even being graced with a topic on our website? That is an honor reserved for intelligent humans. Not the missing link.

Because the socialist left cannot stand an opposing view to their agendas of "Change". It's just in their blood. Stalin and Mao were able to round up and exterminate the dissenting voices to their plans of "Change", and luckily here in America the most they can do is gripe and moan.

On another note who in the heck would trust a 7 year senator from Chi-town, to save the country? Don't you think you guys sound a tad bit hypocritical?

I am not saying your a current admin supporter... but most of the people who dislike beck and Fox news are likely supporters.

I just can't get over the numbers fox pulls in compaired to the others. Just makes you wonder.

If Beck was not a recovering alchy and an ivy league graduate would his followers have more ground to stand on?
