The mentality here is quite shocking and sad. I really am shocked to see that some Americans can't differentiate between extremism and moderate Muslims. It's as if there are a select few who will continually punish a group of individuals because of the act of a few. I'm sure it'd go over well if hardhats refused to build Christian churches because priests have been caught sleeping with children in the past. Does this mean every priest is guilty of this and treat it as so? C'mon people, use your head.

I agree. Extremists never go to mosques.

Ever. They only go to... wait, let me think..

No, actually... hrmm... Anyway its not a mosque, it's a community center!!! One with a lot of special things that only muslims will get to use (this you can place bets on kiddies!).

and it's 150 city blocks or something (gets more and more each time it's discussed) away from ground zero, so there should be MORE of them!!!!!!

And if you don't like it, SHUT UP NAZI !! GO BACK TO STORMFRONT!!!1

No one believes this statement for even one second.

Guess they don't go to madrassas either?

They're imploring the government for permission to build this thing...

Do they live in the White House or something...NO.

They live among the American PEOPLE, it's the People's blessing you need, not the government's. WE'RE the ones these people have to live with!! And WE don't want your Mosque built right at the place where Muslim extremists slaughtered thousands of innocent lives.

Plain & Simple...

OO

A wild out of the blue, fair dinkum HONEST and LOGICAL post.

I did not expect that here this day.

How is it that you can stay sane surrounded by so much insanity...

True stamina, I say.

At this point, it's timely to remind folk that the Saudis -- by their own admission --- have spent 87 BILLIONS dollars promoting teh spread of Wahhabism/Islam in the West

that does not include the Billions they are not admitting to

and a LARGE proportion of that money is being spent paying people to POST IN FORUMS just like THIS ONE

to 'form and shape' public opinion

Those who take money to post are TRAITORS

Now, again,

the hardhats refuse to build the mosque

GOOD

And if islamists try to construct it -- I dare say they'll have a few problems on their hands --- with supply, to begin with .... and with the builder's unions

still laughing, you who devotes SO much time here (and in which other forums) promoting the spread of islam ?

still laughing ?

But but but how then do we tell the good ones from the bad ones, as was the claim of the person to whom I responded?

I mean, if they all go to mosques, by the numbers some of them are bad. So to claim no one knows the difference between moderate and extreme muslims because only the good ones want to build mos.. Sorry, Community centers next to an area where people of the same faith massacred thousands of innocents, is questionable.

In the UK, in the ME, in Indo, in Australia - heck most of the world to be sure - we've seen bad imams in mosques preaching hate towards non muslims.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that if they hate us Aussies, they sure as hell hate you guys.

But now we're talking about what ifs... we'll see when the thing is built how events turn out.

Meanwhile, I'm going to go build a first fleet replica at uluru - you know, to show how much I appreciate the indigenous people here. What better way to say We are one. They should like it.

Such scathing wit!

I'm sure Al-Qaeda are the one's responsible for the funding/development of this mosque. Who knows, they could use this structure as their headquarters to plan their next attack! Gee, I sure hope the American secret intelligence is aware of this! Stay afraid and keep a close eye on those pesky, evil Muslims, they wear funny clothes and want you dead because of your freedom.

Now let's address those fools who'll argue that these vile Muslims have the right to build their mosque because of a little something called "constitutional freedoms". Well I say to hell with them, I like to stand up for the constitution and all, but I like to cherry pick which details suit me.

When I first heaared of this plan to built a mosque near GZ I thought ...WHAT....!!?? This is provocation of the nation...And my second thought was......what is the deal behind it.....It just doesn't make any sence...unless it is part of some sinister plan.

Ever hear the term money talks and BS walks, well that is what is going to happen here.

Yes there is chest pounding from workers now, but when it comes down to it they need to feed their families in hard times.

Plenty of people will step up to the plate to do the work, count on it.

Good post

Shame it was buried in amongst all those who are trying like crazy to sell that mosque to people who don't want it and won't have it

You think they're being reimbursed for all their efforts ?

good for them.

Since it was never a mosque proposed to be built in the first place, i hardly see how the OP felt he or she had credentials to even post such rubbish.

Tell you what, all you Mosque-Sellers

why not flood Haaretz with proposals for a mosque in downtown Tel Aviv ?

Why not ?

That's where we need evidence of willingness to embrace Islam

Good luck

Somebody got the point before me.

Im just concerned about some of these hardhats as to where they will find work. They may get the tea partiers and Republican voters to celebrate them on but as for them getting work afterwards? hmmmm.

I certainly do not have the luxury to drop a job for political purposes. I know that if I did somebody would come in and replace me in a second.

Mmmmmm. Alleged 'concern for the hardhats'

I'm sure they appreciate that

but they have already spoken

Why are you insisting we do the same as Saudi Arabia and Israel?

If they stone a woman for disobeying her husband in Iran, should we follow suit?

If they put a man to death for being gay, should we follow suit?

Are we a constitutional Republic based on rights or do we just follow suit over the injustices committed in other countries?

Why don't think before using that kind of logic eh?

That's where we need evidence of willingness to embrace Islam

Who said you had to embrace Islam? How about respecting freedom of religion.

It's a community center AND a mosque.

So, posting a news story worthy of discussion is now rubbish? Especially when I spoke of this type of action a week ago.

I guess I left my Snarf approved credentials in the dumpster.

I'll shoot you my next thread before I post it...
