Excuse me, it's the biggest one of them all! The biggest secret being kept from mankind is the truth of our origin and the nature of creation. 'God' and 'religion' is one huge coverup and mass manipulation, that we in our 5-sense prison selves are in no real position to grasp.

My gripe is with the UFO forum. It's impossible to post there anymore and have a reasonable open-minded discussion, because you will be shouted down by prominent posters who will not just make their point and leave - they will continue to post and reply to every successive post until the topic is derailed, destroyed, and pretty much consigned to the hoax bin. Yet they seem to get away with it every time. It's been happening for a couple of years now. As soon as you mention any prominent people in the ufo field they are automatically decried as charlatans and scam artists, making it pointless to discuss any new discussion they bring to the table.

For some reason, the majority at ATS seem to think the sun shines out of the behinds of these trolls. Well I guess it's easy to back a 'winning team' when the lack of definitive proof is on their side. But by the same token, it makes it impossible to discuss other possibilities when post-after-post of the same point rephrased in slightly differing vitriol, pollutes the thread like fly-spray.

I have no anger with it, just disappointment. Good people here at the forum have been banned in recent years for trying to take these trolls head-on, and the 'good guys' always come off second-best. This used to be a more open-minded place. Even Skunkworks was a place that seriously considered different possibilities. It's a different culture now. Anything in the Skunkworks or Gray area is treated like a joke, and these folk probably think 99% of the Alien & UFO forum should belong there too - as a joke. These are the (very vocal) majority running rampant in there. I have no problem being skeptical, but it's gone too far. And dare I say, I believe there are one or two govt agents in there too - or people with an agenda of sorts to steer the discussion in a negative direction.

" It’s okay to be a skeptic but when you have scientific evidence handed to you from credible sources and refuse to consider it things start to heat up. Their first line of defense is to insult and ridicule the source. Next, come the lies and misinformation. It is my understanding that we are not supposed to post information that is false or insulting. "

Your blatant hypocrisy angers me more than any other member I have encountered on ATS , as you are guilty , on many occassions , of partaking in the same actions that you define as the problem .

WOW, you just hit the nail on the head... As I said earlier, I very very rarely post here any more because of these people. I am sure there are others that feel the same way. These member bash and derail threads constantly while racking up the member points.
I too have seen some really GREAT member get banned, bashed, and totally trashed, and finally leave.

What new rules?

No "new rules" have been mentioned or implied.

It is not just on ATS SO, it is everywhere.

The world is angry and we are looking for someone or some group to blame it on. And I am sure this what 'they' want, the coming years will be tough, but the light will shine in the end. The end, actually being the beginning; Of light, love, and peace. The one many refer to as 'God' will be with us, who himself is the love and light. He will wipe every tear from our eyes, there will be no more death, pain, nor crying.

People from all nations will flow to the city of God, to learn his ways, and he will rule every nation in righteousness and truth.

For example, I set a thread up last week to debate Jones’ Thermite paper and challenged anyone to show any real science or credible sources to prove Professor Steven Jones’ paper to be a fraud.

And that was pointed out to you many times, including no testing done in absence of air, he had pay to publish and not properly peer reviewed. But you refuse to accept those facts.

We see the same debunkers making outlandish comments against the truth movement and a constant game of insults.

Actually we see the same truthers putting forward the same already debunked lies time after time after time!

There is a group of posters in the 911 threads who are playing tag team attacking “Truthers” and they mostly never contribute anything good to the forum topic, in fact, railroading these 911 threads seems to be their goal.

You mean there is a group of truthers playing tag team attacking those pointing out the truther lies, and never contributing anything good, always the same already debunked lies.

but when you have scientific evidence handed to you from credible sources and refuse to consider it things start to heat up.

Except you have no scientific evidence, just the much debunked self published vanity paper

It is my understanding that we are not supposed to post information that is false or insulting.

Then why do you do just that?

Totally agreed. And it's not limited to the UFO Forum.

News Flash:

It's a discussion forum.

I swear, people seem to forget that. According to the definition, we are here to consider topics in an open and typically informal way.

We are not here to be derided, insulted, shouted down or abused. More often than not, topics cannot be vetted in any definitive way - and that's okay.

I don't need anyone to convince me of anything. Facts are facts. I can make up my own mind and allow you to come to your own determinations as well.

But, as a caution, people need to be reminded that information is power. It is used to control you, situations and resources. I think that, collectively, we are being lead around on a leash by wedge issues meant to instill fear, divide us, exhaust us and thus make us more pliable and easily controlled.

We need to reject all attempts by corporate media to peddle this fear and not be seduced into selling it ourselves. On ATS or in real life.

"Divide Et Impera" seems to be the name of the game everywhere, although it is not a game, but far from it. IMO that is whats sweeping both ATS as well as the nations of the world, in these last few years. Social civility has reached a new low, and those who practiced it as a rule, are declining in numbers, unfortunately due to the tremendous peer pressure, that pervades everything these days, both on the net, as well as in everyday life. Those who seek not to offend, are offended, and those who choose not to care who they offend, are pushed to their limit by others. it is a sad commentary on the state of our affairs, as human beings, one which we can seek to change, but more and more, is beginning to appear unlikely that it will change. "Hope springs enternal", yet is dashed against the rocks, of a never ending river that grows more everyday.

In time, we will change, or suffer the consequences of our own choosing...

I believe it is caused by all the build up of stress in and around the world caused by all the damn job losses and too much time on peoples hands..

this will inherently cause people to get angry in real life and hold it in and then release it on forums like ATS..i have seen it a lot lately too..

I am probably guilty on some of theses things myself, but my two cents anyway. Any time the topic is related to Religion, any religion, the threads get heated. Why? Because of a thing called BELIEF. Beliefs are set so deeply into the stone in the minds of some, chiselled in by the God himself, while other have Ideas, and Theories, and Personal Stories relating to things that they have seen, or experienced. Many times I have spoken to people about my ET experiences, I am told they are "Satan's Demonic Army" sent to get the Sinners, or if I mention Mother Earth, the Goddess, I am assured that there is no such thing, and that Dinosaur bones were put there by Satan to fool us all. Others may speak of experiences with Alien Beings with high technology, or fantastic trips to other dimensions of the mind, and space. Each thinks the other is crazy, and that, friends, is human nature. We each experience things that happen to us. We each see things others do not see, and we all hear voices in our heads, sometimes with advice, other times with a warning, but always there. The big difference? Open Minds as opposed to Closed Minds. An Open mind can never close again, and a Closed mind does not often Open. To each, his/her own, I reckon, but that is why the anger and fighting in the religious threads.

Youse guys might term the language of these posts as 'anger'
I do not.... i look at the text, vocabulary, intent...as just their
way of expressing themselves---those up to 30 years of age have had
no proper upbringing regarding interaction in a language sense...

they are all products of a twisted education system based on the B.F.Skinner model of behavior-modification...and of course the affirmitive-action style of interaction.

being rude/crude is equated with being 'real' & honest... no malice is in their mind in stating that 'your a jerk...a dumb jerk'... etc etc

the liberals have helped shape the dialogue one finds on ATS...
& it is apparent the different words spoken in text by Boomers/Me Generation/Gen X'ers
(or whatever)

Your right.

Take your anger to the streets, don't post it on a forum.
You people are all talk and no action.

Instead of complaining to a bunch of forum nerds, try calling your elected officials to complain. Theres more productive ways to get your anger out.

The total economic collapse has made many of us say
"We're mad as hell and we're not gonna take it anymore!!!"

So do something about it.
Take your money out of the banks and stick it in a credit union.
Stop buying products from corporations you know are evil incarnate.
Make sure your elected officials are being whipped enough to do the right thing.
Kick them out of office if they act on behalf of the globalist banks instead of the people who voted for them.
Write angry letters to newscasts and flood the mainstream media with your message.
Grow your own food, Get your own water source
Stop eating the poisons that they put in olmost everything.
Get outside and get some exercise, stop being so fat and lazy, it's what they wan't. Fat stupid lazy inactive unconcerned little sheeple just waiting to be sheared and then slaughtered, you sicken me!

Where are the links to the politicians telephone numbers, addresses and email? (Yes, online I know), have you planted your Victory garden that is about to be made illegal? Do you have a well in a county of a state that forbids the digging of one, have you stopped eating and drinking and breathing in the United States of America? Have you whipped your local elected official lately? How may globalist bankers have you personally put in jail for sponsoring politicians? how many angry letters to newscasts have you written and how have you flooded the mainstream media with your message when this is the first time I hear of you? Stop being a false witness and practice what you preach!

The only thing I would want to add to this discussion is to point out that our world is negative. It isnt simply being spoon fed by the media to feel this way...the sad fact is that our world is falling appart at the seams.

I think we would probably benifit from a discussion over "good and evil".

There are such things, and they aren't relative to one's perspective.

There is good, and there is evil...and the anger and frustration I have seen here on ATS as been over those perceived "evil" forces that would see our nation be put in it's "proper place" while so many here cling to the dreams of our Founding Fathers, and the inheritance of greatness that we believe our country is destined to fullfill.

Also I dont think that "anger" is nessesarily a bad thing either. It was anger over the treatment of the colonies by the British Crown that eventually brought about our independance....it was anger over the attact at Pearl Harbor that brought our envolvement into WW2 and the eventual victory over the Axis powers in the east and in Europe...and it was anger over the treatment of Blacks and Women in our country that brought about the social reform of the 60s and 70s and the equal rights movement.

I don't believe that anger in it's self is a bad thing...it generally brings about change and sparks good debate.

What I find frustrating is that the idea of "good debate" is so often thrown out the window by those who argue based soley on their passions while ignoring facts.

Thats when these threads become a waist of time....

So I have to respectfully dissagree that we should stop being so angry...and instead I would encourage us all to be informed, passionate, but willing to be challanged and not act like "babies" when someone else has an opinion that may be different from our own.

People just seem to focus on emotional subjects lately and then drive a very extreme one-sided view as if they want to cause issues. Maybe ATS is just getting more people with extreme views to join? Not long ago people could agree to disagree and respect each different views, and now we see real negative replies because of different views…

It’s a shame in any case.

The equation is this, when times are good economically anger is less

and when times are bad anger is more. Elections in this country are in

November and heated arguments are inevitable and anger and tensions

are a natural occurrence during this time in our history. What people

have realized and have woken up to is the fact that there are politicians

that are against there way of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness as

citizens have known it to be in the past. There are politicians that do

not want our free enterprise system to succeed and there are

politicians that do not want you to openly pray. If the President had

to choose what religion would he favor? ^Y^

Hi i must say your reply of.

"All I can say right now is this:
We are all in this together. We need to remember that people on the other side of the screen have histories, experiences and knowledge that is different to our own. Respect that and respect their opinions even if they are completely different to your own. Issue facts, explain your logic and leave it to them to change their mind or keep it."

Is one of the best and smartest things i have see a member post in a long time.

And i think its a mix of things from trolls and disinformation to misunderstanding and conviction. Just my 2 cents.

When I first found this forum (through google) I was excited and signed up right away.
However the moderation is well a little strange and binding. Internet is supposed to be a place where you can let off some steam every once in a while.
Frankly I haven't really seen the Angst that the OP is refering to but the fact that the site owner sent a mass email to everyone is just a little weird.
It kind of makes me feel like I joined a site for 13 year olds or something.

ATS is not broken in my opinion.

This is a walk in the park compared to the first bulletin board I posted to many years ago. There were no moderators when discussion boards first began.

I must agree with Lucidity that there may be something afoot. There does seem to be a joint effort of mischief making on ATS.

Can we all kiss and make up and begin anew right now?

Group hug:
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( ATS Members )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

All of you are very important to me and I consider you family.
I love you no matter what your opinion is.

This sounds like the rantings of an old fashioned senile woman.
I do have a fierce beast inside but I don't unleash it on anyone unless I'm face to face.

Now go in peace my brothers and sisters. We are all in this mess together.

Very good post Skeptic.

Has given me a lot to think about.

It slipped past me how the media has been feeding into some of this anger, but now that you mention it I can see it.

So many people are losing their jobs, homes, way of life and that too can make one feel out of control of their basic life, ending up in frustration.

We live in the midst of exciting times and for some, that be be a bit frightening.

But to promote fruitful conversation, leading to knowledge of what is going on, I agree that respect and decorum must be adhered too.

As this is a conspiracy sight, I do personally believe that because ATS has so many people coming here everyday, that TPTB want to disrupt the flow of knowledge and their tactic is to disunify, disinform and stir up trouble in general.

We need to remain calm and play nice.

Very insightful post.
