ok i live in the town of bognor on the south coast, am used to having militry aircraft because of airshows and portsmouth is just down the road but what got my attention is the increasi in civilian craft over my area. (i noticed because my eldest loves airplanes, he hears them i tell him its a spaceship he locates and says no its a plane) any what i am geting at is maybe they moved the traffic around to make it more effective, worth investigating at least

Obviously not related but about 4 years ago I was driving down the A1 south of Darlington when I noticed an object flying parallel to me, matching my exact speed at 85 MPH.

Once I focussed on it, I used my highly tuned (COD/Battlefield lol) skills to identify it as an AH64 Apache.

It straffed alongside me ( with its cockpit pointing directing at me) for about 2 miles then just pulled out of the manouver and flew off...

It was a true OMFG moment and it would appear they were using the A1 to practice high speed target selection and I was the "lucky" recipient.

Thats a C-130 Hercules definitely at the end of the video. I swore I heard one or more fighter jets in the background, and one jet flying slow powering up and down near your place. They could be looking for something so get out of the house next time and film. You never know what you will catch on that thing. No such thing as aliens so don't be scared. Sounds crazy, I think something very fishy is up.

The only other reason would be they are training for an air attack by Russia or Russia is testing them by sending bombers their way over and over.

hi folks,

Just a couple of things. I live in Plymouth. A major naval port and garrison. I've noticed a few c130's flying by but nothing unusual! There's been no additional naval (UK or allies) docking for refit / resupply etc

There has just been US / South Korean manoeuvres in the yellow sea, so it wouldn't surprise me if the US air bases (there are a few up north) are more active than usual.

I wouldn't think its a sign of anything pending, as Plymouth is relatively empty

cheers

I doubt the U.K. will take part in any attack on Iran. They may lend a ship or two to overall support but I doubt they will actually use their strike air-craft.

I think what we are seeing is an exercise to prepare for a Russian attack because of Iran being attacked and since Russia is going to respond with their military they cant let the U.K. just sit around and not be contained somehow.

You never know what is going on, Russia could be probing for weak points right now knowing that an Iranian attack is imminent.

The Russians used to try this all the time! flying into our air space to test our response times. Even within the last few years! then bugging out, just different ways to get our backs up as we do with them!

I highly doubt the Russians are probing / training for an air assault! even with growing tensions over Iran! the Russians wouldn't risk an assault as it would lead to WW3. They know this and we know this, which is why the stray Russian flyboys are just chased away and not shot down.

cheers

I know about this!!! near the coast of the UK, North-East England, I myself personally witnessed the mass of airplanes, ect ect. There were loads, they fly directly over my house because i am in North Shields to cullercoats, i saw the planes/fighters flying in the zones directed towards Newcastle airport. I do believe there was an air show on in sunderland!? im not sure of the date, i think on the 1/08/10 or 08/01/10 for Americans. There was definitely a lot of planes though. I think it occured on Saturday although im unsure.

I live in the midlands and can confirm I've had the same experiances. We get the odd chinkook go over maybe the odd fighter jet.

However recently there was an event at a local park, as we were walking down, a huge army plane flew over with the green camo paintjob. Cannot remember the name but it looked kind of like a concord but with a straight nose and about half the size, but that's still huge haha

Also, if I think about it, I have notice a rise in chinnook related sightings and this week alone I've seen 3 sets of 4 fighter jets fly over, in formation, seperate occacsions.

Not trying to be a fear mongerer, seriously, but the last time I remember this much action, was a week or so before the war with Afghan started.

Yes, I fear any attack on Iran will drag Russia into the conflict and they will bomb us... they have been sending bombers and spy planes over here for awhile now so must have a good idea on our weak areas.

You should watch Threads. WW3 which turned nuclear after an invasion of Iran. USA and Russia nuked each other basically. But the UK got blasted too, and Threads focused on Sheffield which got blasted by a large nuke. Just dont watch Threads alone or late at night. You wont sleep for a week. I can promise you that. And you wont want to sleep without your bedside lamp on either.

Russian jets popping in and out of UK airspace is nothing new though. That has been happening since the 1950s. It did stop for a few years but with Putin declaring in a hissy fissy that he would start them again, it is once more a regular occurance.

I live in the UK and near the East Midland's Airport. We have commercial aircraft fly over usually busy on a monday night after 22:00hrs until early hour's of morning. We have the usual fly over's from the airport and the planes take about 3-4 minutes before they reach us after take-off.

However millitary helicopter's, we have plenty some day's and other's not so many. We have lot's of millitary jet's flying very high, the average naked-eye couldn't spot one of these unless you know how to track one.

I was nicknamed "Eagle-eye" in The British Armed Forces.

We have had helicopter's fly 50-60 metres from the ground and hover just over our houses. Why? I don't know. We have been intimidated numerous times, Why? I don't know.

We've had lot's of orange, fiery sighting's around all four villages and towns where I live, Why? I don't know.

We've had un-called road-blocks and no work done to the road's, Why? I don't know.

We've had the lake down the road from us police taped off, Why? Nobody know's around here and we watched millitary helicopter's fly over the lake three times a day for a week. ????

Start's to raise question's.

"Our Son has been trying to join the RAF for 18 months now and had given up. He passed all the tests but they said they had no vacancies.

So last week he went into town and tried for the Army. They said they have lots of vacancies coming up in the next couple of weeks and he is in, start when you like!

Then today the RAF kind of said the same thing.

I find this wierd too, any thoughts from you guys? "/"

Perhaps they are increasing the number of soldiers they are planning on using for some unknown activity coming up. Something is planned...Castro has been predicting a war with Iran. Don't know, but they won't 'beef up' armed forces in this economy without reason.

They will only bomb highly populated area's.

Because the fall-out of the ash from the nuclear fallout will be determined from which way the wind is blowing on there radar's and they'll only drop when they have this data. It makes a more effective strategic plan for attack than dropping lot's of nukes and having a huge ash cloud fallout in Russia.

You need only worry if you live in big, major, cities.

The british army try's to recruit in the 10,000's every year. It's no different to seasonal terms at college or university, they take on at different times of the year to re-schedule people into basic training and prepare them for career's within the millitary.

The only aircraft I can think of that looks anything like a half-sized Concord is a Vulcan, but they were decomissioned years ago and only 1 is still flying, paid for by a charitable fund.

I think, seeing as it is the Summer, alot of people will report increased military sightings as alot of air shows are held all over the Europe, let alone the UK. I highly doubt there is any "war" build up. The US may be able to fund another War, but we can't and the people won't stomach it after the Iraq debacle and ongoing op's in Afghanistan.

Thankyou True-seer for this excellent topic. Very timely I believe. I'm not a military person nor do I know much about military aircraft. Finance is more my thing but I came across this article about WWIII the other day on the MarketOracle website of all places. I found it very interesting and a bit alarming.

Hi,

Have just moved back to the Uk and am about 2 miles from Mildenhall runway and 4 miles from Lakenheath....

In the 3 weeks I have been here very little additional traffic - this borne out by the fact that there are no night flights and very few on the week-ends. Granted I haven't been here all that long but basically it appears to be pilots maintaining their flying hours by circling and landing.

Peace!
