This is interesting!

Today at about 11:40am UK time, 2 Apache Gunship helicopters flew in low along the coast of North West Wales, Criccieth to be precise.

Now, Bala is well known for training pilots and it's not unusual to see RAF Hawk trainers, the odd Euro fighter Typhoon, prop trainers etc etc... but up until today I've never seen helicopters, especially Apaches.

Coincidence?

Threre was a thread on here a few months back regarding a leaked document regarding underground bases and ET beings been held etc etc. I can't for the life of me remember where it was. Off topic? I really don't think so.

I will keep looking, it was a massive read.

Im in the north east and i have noticed an increase in military aircraft flying overhead.

I first noticed two jets flying tandem and pretty low about three weeks ago, travelling from west to east. Im only a couple of miles, as the crow flies, from the coast so i assumed thats where they came from. Then about a week after this, id just got out of the car on my front, when three jets seemed to drop out of the clouds in formation, and performed a very wide U-turn. The noise was what got my attention as they werent exactly going slow. Then to top it off a couple of days ago a navy helicopter, that was very similar to a sea king, flew from east to west at quite a low altitude also. I love the sound of those, so i made the window in seconds, it was definately navy grey.

At the beginning of this year two jets flew overhead, again quite low, but i didnt think of these as being on excercises as they were escorting a private VIP type jet.

jazz10 That would be an interesting read. If you can get hold of this document that would be just great!

It's not off topic either

hi everyone im james from aldershot south east england, i have some information on this subject which could be of intrest, i myself have noticed a big increase in the ammount of military helicopter's and fighter jets over the area recently, and this brings me onto my little story, 3 nights ago i was sitting here playing my ps3 at 22:30gmt when i hear a helicopter hovering outside, i jumped up to have a look and as i did 3 red lights shot past my window i just thought i was seeing things. so i thought i best go outside and have a closer look, too my suprise i saw 3 red lights in a triangle accompanied by 3 apaches, i called my mother outside, she was as shocked as i was to see these lights at first i couldn't beleive what we were seeing, the lights came literally above my back garden, dancing around eachother as they flew seemlessly across the sky as they went out of view, the helicopter's gave chase but had no chance, this isnt the whole story as im limited on text, message me and i will divulge more info

Don't know if I'm a bit late posting on this thread but..

I'm from the East Midlands, Leicestershire to be exact and recently I've noticed a lot more air traffic then usual.
Now I will point out that the next two across has a large gathering of Travellers (Slag would be the oh so delightful gypos) and we always have police helicopters going over to their neck of the woods. Now I play french boules on a wednesday night and the pub we play for has a huge gravel car park quite high on a hill surrounded by fields and fields.

Two weeks ago (wednesday 28th July to be exact) we were running through a practise session on the car park at roughly seven, seven twenty in the evening, when a chinook helicopter accompanied by two heavier looking aircraft came by. They left pretty sharpish but ten minuters later another chinook popped up. Now I can't say whether it was the same one or a different one, considering all these aircraft were non-descript, plain black, but it circled literally right above us for awhile before moving to hover over one of the fields. Naturally we all stopped and stared, because although we do get a lot of aircraft training over this part of the East, it was completely unusual behavior, and even the locals agreed they'd never seen that before.

After a little while it went bombing off, but as mentioned above, recently the air space is getting more crammed down here too, daily there seems to be some kind of non-descript helicopter / chinook / fighter going overhead.

Really strange if you ask me.

I'll have a word with some of the locals, see if they know where these military crafts are coming from.

As for Commercial airlines, I haven't really noticed a big difference, but perhaps that's just me really not paying attention. I'll keep my eyes peeled over the next few days, but in the meantime I'll do some digging ;]

I decided to actually find out what is is that they are flying over my house constantly, so I picked up my camera and headed for the garden. In one day there were 2 chinnooks, one that was white (and therefore probably civilian), one of the ones from the first picture, and at least 7 of the ones from the second picture. Not sure what the first one is, but the second one has camo patterns clearly visible on it.

The first Helicopter look's to be a Merlin and the 2nd not too sure.

I too have also seen an increase.

Apart from the normal traffic, I've also spotted helicopters and a large number of Hercs going overhead (I live in Hull, East Yorkshire). About two weeks ago, at about half one in the morning a large airbus/boeing type aircraft fly just a hundred feet above my house with all the nav lights and interior lights on. It was painted a standard transport green.

Also heard the rumblings of our old friend the Aurora during the late afternoons/early evenings.

I'l keep this thread busy with my daily sighting's of millitary craft's.

At exactly 16:11 Monday afternoon 15/08/10 I saw two identical grey jet's flying with his right-wing-man and travelling toward's East Midland's Airport/Leicestershire, North of M1 of the UK.

14:00 Grey top, black bottom small helicopter wasn't a Merlin a lot smaller travelled East/South of UK towards A42 Southbound. (Derbyshire)

17:10 Small helicopter black all over travelling West and fast, I used my Army hand-techinque for mapping out target's, I'm guessing roughly 2400 metres away and travelling med-low above residential ground's.(Derbyshire)

When I used to live in North Ferriby last year of 2009 around this time of year me and my mate would see a fighter jet quite similar to the F-116 Jet and would fly just over 100 feet above sea level and would shake our windows and door's. Sometimes I just wanted to shoot the bugger's down, they were that annoying, lol :p

Confirmed by BBC news:

* Since 2007, the giant Tupolev Bear and Blackjack nuclear bombers of the Russian Air Force have been flying close to British airspace, as they did during the Cold War, with increasing frequency. They trigger a Quick Reaction Alert by RAF Tornados and Typhoons which intercept them. There has also been an increase in Russian submarine activity in the North Atlantic.
* This can largely be attributed to a desire on the part of the Kremlin to be taken seriously as a major power - but neither the bombers nor the submarines can be ignored. The bombers are designed to carry air-launched nuclear cruise missiles. Some are also sophisticated aerial listening stations, capable of eavesdropping on military communications.
* Royal Navy hunter-killer submarines are almost certainly at sea right now, making sure Russian submariners do not get close enough to the Trident submarine currently on patrol with the British nuclear deterrent to pick up and record her sound signature. Were they to succeed, the deterrent system would be seriously compromised - it relies on being undetectable.

Hello to all. I have come across this thread on ATS and believe deeply it has everything to do with increased millitary aviation AND these black helicopter's using IR readout's looking for Nuclear radioactive material.

You'll read the start of this thread click onto the link he also provided which i'l provide under his thread and only THEN you'll see what I'm getting at!

EVACUATE NOW!: This is Not a Drill

Two US Air Force C130s just flew into Moscow. Livermore Nuclear Weapons Lab, or one of the seven other nuclear weapons labs in the US, are more than likely involved. Ask yourself this. What on earth could
have scared the Russian nuke forces enough to call in their old hated Cold War foe – the US Air Force – for help?

My point I’m getting at, 1) Increased air activity especially with the Millitary, 2) Foreign jet fighter’s passing over UK border’s, which they have been known for over decades.

Just had a jet travelling very fast at a high altitude, heading south just inland of the north east coast. It was too high to say exactly what type of jet it was, but it must of been in full afterburner as it was still very loud considering the height it was flying at.
