Increased Air Activity In the United Kingdom

Found this, RAF Whittering may be responsible for many of the low flying aircraft around the east / east coast.

Obviously they can't show their flying scheduals but the information there seems to be related to some of our sightings in the east.

I've just seen a heli fly by my house from west to south then back again.
Green camo skin. No mistake it was too close to miss that. I swear i could see inside in the middle

Well they state of those sites that from RAF Whittering they fly over Nottingham. It's a well known fact that they use one of the hills just down the road from me as a point.

As far as the heli goes, the only ones I've seen are plain black. Although right now as I look out my window there seems to be a hell of a lot of blinking lights in the sky. Not commercial unless EMA are trying to push out 30 flights in the space of an hour in the same direction. Not saying it's connected in any way, I just find the amount of traffic in the air crazy tonight.

I'll see if I can take a few pictures, not sure how good they'll turn out but if I'm honest I've never seen this amount of planes in the sky over the space of an hour before. And I use my bedroom window as a smoking area

Noted that there is an increase in the use of the local Air Sea Rescue flight out of RAF Leconfield. Logged about 5 or 6 flights today so far (21:29 time of posting). Now it could be taking advatage to get in a couple of extra training flights, but the way they return to base is always ALWAYS over my house so I never miss them when I'm at home.

Also noticed an increase of aircraft noise during daylight hours but when I look up to spot the plane/helicopters, nothing can be seen, but the engine noise is clearly heard.

mabey its relevant but i also hav been seeing strange anomalies at night but gets brushed away by my uncle's a born skeptic lol
but yea just orbes of light and orange balls of light that one'ce seen slowly start to get smaller and smaller till its out of sight but this is within seconds mmmmmmmmmm strange but true and thats whats good about this site the truth is more common then on t.v

Black Chopper/Swadlincote hovering 75-100 ft, 13:15 24th August, Tuesday, 2010. Hovered above empty field and group I was working with for 1 minute then flew off North West towards Derby.

Wasn't a police helicopter because they have yellow top below helicopter blades. This was fully black and a military chopper. It even had black tinted window's, strange!

Indeed there is more TRUTH on ATS than on MSM.

Plus as a bonus I have a thread on sighting's of fiery, orange object's that are NOT chinese lantern's/candle lantern's.

I would like to see if it's anything identical to what we see around mine every week. Strange thing is not heard any military chopper's over this area for over a week now. Apart from where I work, I work in different location's every week and there's always a military chopper flying low just under 100 feet and hover's and follow's me and the group around the location then fly's off.

We've had both police and military chopper's fly low then rise up over the tree top's then hover and circle around us then fly off?????

I brought this to the attention of the volunteer group and now it has appeared it is happening every blinking tuesday where-ever I go to work whether it's full-time employment like back in April/May 2010 and back in Feb where I used to work at my mate's place and he said he's not heard any military chopper's fly over since I was laid-off work????

Weird!

Edit to add - I am Ex-Military and have had encounter's whether that has anything to do with it.

Thursday, 26th August, 2010.

All day today heard over 4-5 if not more helicopter's flying very low just above low cloud cover and hovered considerable tooooooo many times over the Derbsyhire county near Measham, Ashby De La Zouch, Swad.

This morning around 10:00 we had a low chopper hover over this residential estate for more than 4 minutes and circle sereval times and flew over again and repeated and then flew off the same direction it came from South of Derbyshire.

Yesterday in the East of England the sky was literally covered in a layer of cloud, it's been raining and miserable yet on the way home I could hear a loud helicopter, but couldn't see it anywhere. Why would a helicopter go out when it's cold and wet and cloudy? Surely not optimum flying conditions.

I gave you a star and exactly worth a good read your comment as that is exactly what is happening on rainy days around here. These very loud helicopter's flying just above residential area's. I don't care how much training they have had in the field, I do not approve of them flying over homes especially of 1000's of people's lives are at stake here if one of these helicopter's have a malfunction, where are they going to land. On us!

saw a big black heli flying low in a nw direction at about 3pm on 24/8. it had powerful spotlights on front and looked partly rectangular in silhouette from underneath... unusual. am in n. london

You are not witnessing anything out of the ordinary. A transition to war or conflict is not going to go un-noticed. You have already stated that you are young and unsure of what is going on. There is nothing going on except routine scheduled military training. Some of you guys on here do yourself no favours in reporting such activity based on no experience or knowledge of military matters.

All you have generated is a mish-mash of postings and sightings based on generated hype. You guys are witnessing nothing more than routine training activity. If you haven't noticed the UK is

engaged in combat operations in Afghanistan. That requires training for fast jet crews, currently Tornado GR4, and helicopter crews. That involves Forward Air Control exercises and large movements of troops via the Joint Helicopter Force.

In addition to training for Afghan operations there are also near continuous exercise activity all across the UK. This is nothing out of the ordinary.

In regards to low flying in the UK the MoD has a policy of spreading movements about in order to reduce the burden on noise and nuisance. The whole of the UK is therefore open to low flying. As you can see people are reporting activity where very little was seen before. This is standard policy in order to reduce the noise and nuisance impact.

This isn't some mass conspiracy theory. Consider the fact that there are thousands of aircraft enthusiasts in the UK. Have a look back in the records of websites such as Fighter Control or UK Airshow Review. For these guys it is a serious hobby in monitoring military exercises and recording aircraft movements.

The original post is in reference to military activity not UFOs. In congested airspace such as the UK large scale military training and exercises are pre-announced via NOTAM. These are NOTAM'd as a flight safety priority.

There are thousands of general and sport aviation private pilots in the UK. In order for the MoD or military to lie would require pulling the wool over all those individuals sharing the same airspace plus all the aviation and radio enthusiasts monitoring the activity not to mention the Civilian Air Traffic Control monitoring the UKs congested airspace.

It is no use coming onto the forum and stating that the military are lying in the case of the original OP. All the information is out there, but unfortunately people get excited because they are unaware of the likes of NOTAMs or where to find exercise information.

There are even people who actively seek out designated helicopter training areas, film them and put their own agenda to the videos. Anyone can do it! These helicopter handling and training areas have been in use for decades. Aviation photographers visit the areas and have been doing so for years.

Unfortunately there are individuals out there who visit the training areas film the helos and invent stories surrounding them. That is how easy it is to create their conspiracy theories.
