Guys... I just woke up and am rolling through the posts that I missed. regarding the firefly theory...

Now how could this even be considered, other than grasping at straws?

Some of you de-bunkers need to stop and take a breath, it seems.

Thanks, I needed that moment, now I feel relaxed.

If I read airborne880's reason for buying this property in this location correctly, you won't find casual campers or a whole lot of population density out there.

In that kind of terrain you'd be a fool to go scrabbling around a mountain at night unless you had an intimate knowledge of the terrain, some serious flashlights, high boots for the rattlers, and were well armed for the bears or somebody burying a body. You sure wouldn't want any younger children following you.

First of all, 880 I am truly fascinated with your footage of the lights. I too have no idea what they could be. It will probably be some type of natural phenomenon. I've seen some weird things in the woods. Once when I was young, I was out hunting deer. I got to my stand well before daylight and as my eyes became accustomed to the dark I noticed stuff glowing green all around me on the forest floor. I was a little unnerved at first. I finally gathered up the courage to investigate and picked up this glowing stuff. After a little research I found out it was Foxfire. I know thats not what you saw. It's just that sometimes you have to gather the courage to investigate closer if at all possible. Maybe get someone in that area during daylight hours and camp out.

Fireflies doesn't seem possible if they were as bright as you said. I'm sure when you said they were almost too bright to look at, you weren't looking through the viewfinder of the camera. I've never seen a firefly much brighter than a candle.

Good look with your investigations.

Excellent videos from OP. Fireflies are a good suggestion, but their overall pattern of activity doesn't seem to match Airborne's videos. So I agree with his last comment about them.
Interesting to follow up the geology aspects. From Google Earth, I think Airborne's mountain is part of a northeast-trending sandstone ridge, part of the Appalachian fold belt. Cooling quartz grains can generate luminous phenomena due to piezoelectricity, and if there are local faults, tectonic strain effects and radon gas release may contribute.
Also, according to Wiki, these Blue Ridge forests release isoprene vapour, a reactive chemical that may also contribute aerosols to a complex plasma orb phenomena.
None of this rules out a possible ET input, as Airborne's weird footage looks a bit like performances of plasma orbs much higher in the atmosphere, as in the St Petersburg and Greifswald lights.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but fireflies are not constantly lit up.

According to Scientific American, for the common P. Carolinus firefly:

"These patterns consist of a burst of several flashes (typically six) followed by a period of no flashing that lasts about six-to-eight seconds. During these pauses, the female responds with two flashes in rapid succession, with the second flash beginning almost immediately after the first one is finished. The female may produce one to four of these "doublets" while perched on leaves or branches, says Moiseff, the study's lead author."

www.scientificamerican.com...

So yes you nailed it - sure doesn't sound like fireflies from what I saw of the videos.

Any update on your new question answering video airborne ?

Looking forward to seeing it!

Just got back from a doctors apt and will try to do that now. The better news is that he ordered me off of work until Sept 15th!!!! That gives me so much more time to deal with this new thing that has happened and plan out a more thorough investigation.

Airborne880.....

I'm having trouble understanding the scale / size of the objects which you are filming.

Can you offer any commentary pertaining to that?

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not

This is interesting info and I am big time ignorant on the subjects you have brought up. I will look hard at those possibilities. My son Brent... and I were talking this morning... wondering if there was some kind of natural phenomenon that could generate what we saw. The two small orb like things that were closest to us could fit that possibility but we both agree that the kicker was (not shown on video) when all of the objects came together and intensified to brightness that is difficult to describe. I am going to work hard at determining what these are and to do that I must have another viewing of them. of course, that's not up to me so I hope to get the chance. If these can be explained, I will be the first to put out the truth,, as I have no intention of pushing something as extra terrestrial that is in fact not. I assume we are all seeking the truth good bad or ugly. I know my family is. Thanks for the great comments.

I will try not to confuse you more because I also am having that same trouble. At first... we assumed that they were large objects far away. It was only the next morning, when we took a good look at the location where they were, that we became very puzzled and had to admit that they must have been small objects that were very close. This was puzzling only because we had preconceived ideas of what"UFO" might look like...... so when the objects that presented themselves to us arrived, we had to shift to an "orb" thought process. Orbs, or energy balls, or whatever they may have been make more sense when dealing with the distances and location below the horizon that they seamed to be at. These objects had to have been closer than we though and had to ave been moving amongst the trees on the mountain side. The horizon and view of the sky was above them with hillside and trees between them if that makes sense.

Not sure how to respond directly to Unknown soldier but if you read this... pay attention. You should read all of the posts before commenting with such clear ignorance my friend. This has been addressed more than a few times on this thread. the previous sightings were no where near this mountain and were in such a place that I did not have a camera. They were not the same objects either. Further, its true that NOBODY in their right mind would trespass on that property or anywhere near it. The people that live in that area are not the kind to mess with and at night.... you would be an idiot to climb that kind of terrain. Period. And had you read all of the material before succumbing to your thirst to give rude input... you would have learned that after the first sighting on the mountain, my son and nephews climbed to the top and ruled out the possibility of any human presence or lights or paths or anything but rough, steep forested mountain. Try and stay awake as you follow along man.... I am getting bored answering the same rap cover and over again, only because people are to lazy to read through the thread. Copy that?

Would you not already have known the locale. " When the objects that presented themselves to us arrived" seems to indicate that you were thinking small when the video was taken, rather than the next day.

Uhhhhhhh sorry but I dont get the question. The property is 12 acres. we were just hanging out the first night when my son saw the lights. Arriving at an opinion as to the size was a process not an instantaneous thing. Again..... I think some people fail to understand the many ways that these things can play out and how fluid the situation is. we were not there to film UFOs. That will be this weekend. But then, I was enjoying a brand new property purchase and showing it to my son. The whole place is still new to me. In fact... I have only given a down payment and am waiting for final papers and then have to hand over another $20,000. I am in no way intimately familiar with the mountain beyond what I have said. The question you ask.."would,t I have known the location" is kind of a dumb one because had I known it..... I would not represent confusion about the size....as I have done so many times. Over?

Airborne880.....

Firstly.....

I just want to confirm that I have viewed & listened to your videos & I have read all posts & viewed all material in this thread. If I ask questions that appear to have been answered previously, I apologise for that.

So.....

Thanks for your commentary pertaining to the possible size of the object or objects.

At the risk of discussing the obvious, at what estimates of size can you arrive by using:

- The known distance to the place on the hill?

- The apparent size of the objects in your field of view?

- A comparison with objects on the hill viewed in daylight?

My initial "guesstimate" is the object or objects are only covering an area of a few feet across.

Do you agree with my "guesstimate"?

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not

I give up on this one. I have downloaded editing software, tried movie maker I just can cut the video into two separate videos. I will just shoot another when I get a moment. I will have to keep them under 10 minutes or I will not be able to get them onto youtube. It sucks not being a video editing kind of guy hahah. I am sure it can be done but I am haveing no luck. Sorry about that.

Man!!! THis is driving me crazy and i am about to give up on it!! Thanks for the idea... i got all excited and then..... when I try to upload the video here I get a message saying that I do not have permission to upload media. WTF? In a way it's funny. So many people accuse me (mostly on youtube, but some here) of faking the video.. hahahahah!!! I can barley dial a cell phone let alone manipulate a video! Look at how many days I have worked at trying to edit, shorten and now even upload a simple video!!! Soon, this video will be obsolete because the weekend is here now. If anyone knows how to GRANT me permission to upload a damn video here... I would love to hear it. Thanks... sorry for my tone but I am getting burned out with the small stuff. Time for an MRI now, so I will be offline for a few hours. Thanks for the advice.

Upload the full video file to www.sendspace.com... and post it here I'm sure someone will be kind enough to upload it for you. I'd do it myself but I've got to pack to go on holiday for the weekend!
