For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and they said, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they said, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of publicans and "sinners." '-Luke7

I believe so also.

I might have missed it in your opening post about fundamental Christians or those that believe the bible word for word, the inerrant word of GOD and as historical fact.

With that said I am neither.
I replied to answer what I thought was a question you wanted the answer to.
If you are seeking answers and not just trying to disprove the bible I’ll keep at it.
Looks like undo is heading down the same path that I was taking.

All I can say is if you want to seek spirituality, seek and ye shall find. There are many sources of information out there- non biblical. But some will teach you about the bible its origins and transformations.

Will you have more questions? Yes of course, because that is the journey. The more aware you become the more that needs to be answered.

The first lesson I give everyone at this point is to find the 3 deities named in the first sentence of Genesis. Then find out who they are. It will give you more questions but that’s a good thing. Every time you look at one aspect you will be presented with multiple new ones to explore.

That should take plenty of time and opens so many doors that you will be on the path.

I wouldn't say it's a matter of subscibing to a religion, but rather having the full story.

It's another thing that voided the bible for myself. I would want the bible in the language and context it was written with all the books attached.

The only problem is no matter how it is portrayed....we are reading interpretations of interpretations. The original bible I believe is written in Hebrew. Unless any of us can read/speak Hebrew, we have no idea what is written in the bible.

each one heard them speaking in his own language.-Acts2.6

Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too-Rom3.29

they will speak in new tongues-Mark16.17

You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me-John5.39

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.-John21.25

These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.-1Cor10.11

Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.-1John3.15

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.-1Cor12.12

If any fundamentalist Christians out there have some answers, that would be just dandy. I have a bunch of questions but I feel I have to begin with one of the most basic. Where did Cain's wife come from?

No, the Fundamental Christians don't have some of the answers, according to them they have all the answers. Cain's wife came from "the other people" who were not created by the creators of Adam and Eve. I would say they were created by other beings, as there were many of these genetic experiments going on in those days. This is what I like to say to well meaning Christians bent on saving my soul, "I am the other people".

there is only One answer-

All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of them foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, "It is true."-Is43.9

From one man he made every nation of men-Acts17.6

For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."-Acts17.31

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.-John1.10

They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."-Luke19.44

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.-John15.18

No.

So, now we're ignoring the Bible?

Again it's translational- if you read my previous post you will see I will give answers but it is not of typical modern christianity.

Original texts support more than one god

For both replies, if you seek you will find.
If you do not want the task of learning Hebrew, Aramaic, Coptic and Greek use other's work but quadruple check it. Online translators can help with that.

The Internet is a wondrous tool and has greatly improved spiritual seeking.

But with the power of the Internet you can get overload so take it slow.

I was not aware that fundamental Christians subscribed to Egyptian god stories. Maybe you can elaborate as to how that fits?

And this is where the seeking comes in.
Where my seeking came in.
You have a predominate view of one particular group.
Before the Internet external sources were hard to come by.
As with in the beginning opposing thoughts and scriptures were made scarce (forbidden)
Basically if you didn’t believe the exact way those around you believed you were a “less than.” You weren’t “qualified” for God.
Heck even within their own ranks they had trials and testimony to approve of one’s “salvation.”

If you seek you will find that God is in multitudes of varying histories and cultures, not just in White European’s and Jew’s.

The truth is out there.
The truth will set you free!

Egytian God stories?-

In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border.-Is19.19

This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans— they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains. They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.' "-Is45.14

Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: " 'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone ; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes' ?-Matt21.42

See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.-Zech3.9

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.-Is11.6

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.-Heb4.8

this will allow you to see each word that was in the original text. all you have to do is type in the word you want to learn about. the search engine will present you with every verse in the entire bible, that contains that word, followed by a number, which when you click on it, will show you what the original hebrew word was. (use the first search box)

no, i believe in the divine council concept, with one in particular leading it, just as the text suggests over and over and over (deep breath) and over.

Good place for comparisons but it's lacking in totality.
Yeshua nor variants aren't found.
A slight modern Christian slant?

Amen brother.

I was thrown off with the triple deity thing. I'm not sure I understood it that way.

But that could be because I don't read God as the same God every time it's written .
But I'm still searching for all the puzzle pieces.

Did you know that the "bible" was taken in part from the Hebrew scrolls?

Did you know that the Hebrews are not a tribe/clan that originated in their own lands?

Did you know that the reason the "bible" is authenticated by the 19th century archeologists is that the strings attached to funding is contingent on proof of the "bible" as an accurate historical source?

Did you know that the Hebrews were in bondage in latter day Sumeria and picked up their religious views and when they were freed they promptly began their version of Sumerian beliefs?

Doubt that you know that the Hebrew version was extremely harsh in the God and man relationship. Sumerians didn't worship they had friendship with the gods.

I know the evidence and the evidence doesn't point to the Hebrew god as being the omnipotent that is revered and feared.
I am not agnostic. I prefer the term gnostic.

NOT in the archaic form. Knowledge has multiplied and those that take their faith from their parents is the same as babes taking suckle from their mother. Without knowledge. Fed as a babe without the ability to feed themselves.
