I'd say, that if they've developed interplanetary or even more probably intergalactic travel, they have probably been around the block a few times so to speak. I feel that if you're around that long, then you must have figured a few things out, like how not to kill themselves on their original planet. This may not even be correct, maybe it took the destruction of their planet or their ecosystems to realize they can't just fight, kill and destroy everything without consequence. And if they're neutral or benevolent, perhaps they sneak around because of probable reasons of non-interventionism. If you're still wondering why they're sneaking around, then maybe you should think about this.. If you were a peaceful race, and you happened to drop by this third planet from the sun, only to realize there is this somewhat backwards race, constantly fighting, killing and deceiving each other, what would they do to you? Why in the sweet name of chocolate would you want to land there???

(P.S. If they aren't benevolent or even neutral, and they are willing to destroy, enslave, or eat us, I think it's unlikely that they would actually be here in the first place, because they've probably destroyed or eaten each other by now. And if not, and they were to actually come here, then even they are doing a better job of it than we are.)

While I read through most replies, I haven't read all so apologies if anything I say is repeated.

I do see where the OP is coming from, I may not agree with his methods of posting (from what I've seen he'll personally flat-out tell each person that comes forth with something they're wrong), but I definitely see what he's saying.

Believing in aliens is (I'd guess) easy for a lot of us here, but it is - when you think about it - a rather fantastical belief if there's no proof (as I say, I believe, personally and I haven't seen a single thing). I don't mean proof as in photographs etc... I mean in-your-face proof. Such as me going outside and seeing an alien craft right in-front of me. If I was a non-believer or (as OP seems to be) a somewhat disenchanted believer, that would send me straight back to the believer camp. But no amount of photographs and blurry videos would change my mind.

In that regard I get the OP's train of thought. What I don't get, is if that's the case and he just needs to see something with his own eyes to fully believe, is why he's asking for proof on an Internet forum where the only mediums we can be proven, are photo's, video's or testimonies. We can't prove it to him here as there's no way to make him see something. I guess I understand the OP's way of thinking, what I don't understand is asking for a certain type of proof in a place where it's not possible to give it.

I don't think we can prove anything.. all photos CAN be fake or weather related or human made...

The in-your-face proof is exactly what is needed.
All we have right now is blurry photos and videos, eyewitnesses and all other strange stories. Believers expect all of that to be considered as evidence and they start calling people disinfo agents and close minded fools and whatnot if they don't believe that.


Bring me an alien's arm or tell them to land in front of my house.
Don't film the stars and fap at them.. It's not doing ufology any good.

First of all, the proof your looking for isn't going to exist as every single picture of a UFO there ever is, was, and will be is up to INTERPRETATION! This goes for video as well, and with todays photo manip and video editing technology the proof for UFO's and ET will not come from pictures or video so stop expecting people in the UFO community to produce such evadence.

Secondly, as one other ATS member so nicely put it in a different thread, eye witness testimony counts for apparanetly nothing in the UFO subject but in the court of law its enough to send someone to prison for the rest of their life. You can't so convieniently pick and chose what evidence is relavent and when. Eye witness testimony is either legitimate evidence or it is NOT. If its not, well there are alot of people we need to be letting out of prison.

Third, I like how you again for your convienience try to group together the people that play tennis with aliens on the weekend with the legitimate researchers in one sweeping judgement to discredit the whole subject all together. This tactic may work with grade school children but I highly doubt it will work here, too bad you can't get that wasted breath back.

Lastly, If you are going to chose to disregard the UFO pictures, videos, witness testimony as all hoaxes as the sole reason the entire subject exists then that leads to another question I would LOVE to hear you answer with any bit of sense. WHY?! WHY would so many people all over the world of so many different backgrounds make it up? Im serious.

Is everyone looking for there 15 mins of fame is that REALLY all there is to it? Even apparently Columbus and many others before the invent of TV were apparently looking for their 15 min of fame on a TV that didnt even exist yet?

Or maybe there is a reason I havn't heard yet why the UFO subject exists in the first place. Keep in mind this subject started way back before "fame".

All you have done is:

-Swept up all the bad evidence and bad examples of the UFO subject to ridicule/discredit and presented ONLY those arguements.
-Expected an unrealistic and unpractical outcome by asking us to present evidence you damn well know is ALWAYS up for interpretation and thus never "proof"
-Laid claim to the knowledge that the subject of UFO's is complete rubbish.

You use science and fact as an argument alot, well then by your very own standards of science and fact you should also know that you know jack Sh**.

But again I really am wanting to hear your answer to this question.

Why? Does the subject of UFO's even exist at all?

If we adopt the attitude of many skeptics then we are perfectly entitled to say that. Dreams do not exist. No-one can ever *prove* they had a dream. Yes, you can point to encephalographic images and say, during the period of..., the brain was..., but do you have a dream to show us, on tape, for study? Ahh no you don't.

Ergo, I am assuming, as the only true evidence of dreams is, in the end, purely anecdotal, that you don't believe they exist either?

Op is right. There is no single piece of evidence that would prove visitation. If there were the whole human view of the world would do carthwheels and everything would change quite alot. We do however have alot of not so clear evidences that the believers think when combined prove something. I've never bought that personally.

All people see dreams. Majority of people see them and there is no debate wether they are real or not.
Aliens on the other hand are a totally different subject. Aliens are, if they exist, a physical entities. For them we could find physical evidence. Something that we can all see and touch.
