I'm having a very different sighting than the rest of you. What I'm seeing is the highest concentration of idiots ever assembled on three pages of an ATS thread.

I wonder how many of you people are even capable of switching on a PC.

You're an embarrasment and you should be ashamed. Lanterns lanterns lanterns ad infinitum

NO, There certainly NOT lanterns, not this bright and making maneuvers? do you seriously think we don't know wot lanterns are? or have never seen one??? IVE SEEN lots of lanterns & videos of lanterns aswel these are absolutely nothing alike, lanterns are dim & slow moving and only ever move in one direction and DO NOT! materialize & dematerialize, don't you think i sat there and thought lantern Mr Einstein

Quite strange I posted this is some other thread, but in the last 3 weeks I have seen at least two legitimate sightings that were close enough that I could tell they were not an airplane, satellite, shooting star or planet. One flew by my window and was pretty close to my house, flying as if it were drunk, and the other was extremely bright and looked like a blown up version of Venus, then it moved and disappeared behind some trees. By the time I ran around the trees it was gone.

Also about 4 or 5 months ago I saw what some people are describing they saw last night. It looked like a fireball in the sky. There was no way it was a lantern, it was in the dead of winter and was so bright it lit up a large portion of the sky around it. Not sure how far away it was, I'm going to saw at least 5 miles.

I'm going to have to say from experience 99% of these sightings are chinese lanterns, and this is because at a time of great celebration, there is ALWAYS and increase in sightings.

Here is my thread about alot of sightings on New Years; www.abovetopsecret.com...
Turns out they where almost ALL chinese lanterns, and these kind of things do happen, because so much more people are looking up, and so many different things are being released.

I'm not denying all of those sightings, just the majority that look quite obvious to me.

The fourth has to be the most unreliable day to get good sightings. We -know- people are purposely putting all sorts of lighted things up in the sky. Not just fireworks, either. Unless it's a very definitive sighting, you'd almost have to dismiss most of what is reported.

Also, I'd like to think any visitors would be smarter than to assume the fourth is the best day to "get noticed." Flying over a major city on say, June the 2nd would yield much better results.

It could be the start of the new wave we're expecting;

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I had a really intense telempathic contact experience on friday night, I didn't see them but I know they were in the atmosphere above me somewhere, or at least partially materialised. Although they didn't say who they were I felt they were Pleiadian for what it's worth.

The message I received, by the way, was, "Thankyou for being here with us this night/time"

Contact has begun and over the next year or two I think it will become undeniable.

I would say there is a few of the reports that are actually Chinese Lanterns YES without a doubt, from witnesses that do not know a plane from a chopper or if you like there arse from there elbow, but its certainly different when you do know wot you are looking at in the sky 99.9% of the time.

This thing flew right over my head and made a 90 degree turn on a penny low enuff for me to see it was no lantern and 10 times brighter to then dematerialize 100mtrs or more away, also the friend who see it come in from my right said it just blinked on at around the same distance, Before this May 29th sighting i would have dismissed ALL red/orange orb UFOS as lanterns, now i'm 100% sure that not all of them are...

It annoys me when people are just coming into the thread to laugh and say Lantern Lantern Lantern you see a Lantern, like we are some sort of idiots

Guess I should add mine too. My sister and I saw a bright object moving roughly South to North. It started really bright then dimmed to barely visible in about 20 seconds before I lost sight of it. Definitely wasn't fireworks and I've never seen a plane look quite like that. Who knows, at any rate lots of people saw something last night, interesting.

I witnessed my first UFO about two weeks ago. Now I live in Darwin, Australia. It was about 630ish and the first couple of stars were just appearing. I was laying beside the pool having a cigarette, gazing into the sky.

Then I saw this very faint star like object that started to get brighter. When it was at its brightest, it started to move left. I wasn't sure if it was a plane because I've never seen one that high before, plus it was bright as a star. Anyway i stretched out my arm and measured with my fingers the distance it moved. As i was following it just ascended back into the sky! It went about 2.5cm from right to left. (i dunno how far that is in scale, but hey at least i measured it
i bet someone can figure this out tho)

I finished my cigarette and came to the conclusion that i had just seen an UFO(yeaaa boi :up

So its awesome to find out people are seeing this type of ufo recently

Whatever people are seeing tonight is what I define as they.
We had a sighting of our own tonight. actually 2.
first we saw what seemed like a plane that started in one direction then started to move back in the other direction without turning it just started going back the other way just like instantly. The second one also seemed like a plane until it got closer and then it just vanished. Both were moving much faster than any other aircraft we had seen this evening. the latter closing on a distance of about 35 miles in 30 seconds before vanishing.

It is possible that the skies are this active every night... but the fact that the same object is being seen in multiple locations tonight ... that I find intersting.

Just got to love how all the UFO guys seem to be able to judge speed distance height etc etc even in the dark with NOTHING to compare too you guys are just my heros

I actually seen this from East Tennessee myself with a group of friends. I was first to noticed it off in the distance. An orange ball moving across the sky. It was steady and in a constant horizontal line so I thought it might have been a satellite but as it moved closer to in front of me I was sure I seen a flashing light so I then ignored it and played it off as an airplane. Because of that I did not notice any disappearing or vertical flight.

It could have been an airplane high enough in the sky to still catch a reflection of the sunset, causing it to glow orange.

Strangely enough though on July 4th of last year we noticed another orange glow in the sky, this one was closer and almost looked like a hot air ballon because it seemed to be flickering, but it stopped in the middle of the sky and then changed directions 90 degrees

I just joined so I could add myself to the list of sightings, anyway, I was out on the front stoop watching the neigborhood displays the night before(july 3rd)and I saw a light to the west, I gave it little thought at the moment since there is a very active airport nearby and a plane coming in for a landing is no big deal(other than the fact that it was headed the wrong way, than all the planes I have seen in the past)...however, after seeing it sitting there in the sky, in the same place, for 30 minutes plus, I began to wonder.
It was not a helicopter, nor a plane, the only movement was, over time, it bagan to sink in the sky very slowly, (without the light sorce dimming what so ever) untill it was below the treeline and I couldn't see it anylonger.
Take this at what it's worth,it was not a star either, since I live very near downtown Cleveland, stars are very hard to see here, so trust me, this was a lot closer...

Venus was very bright. It set off the fireworks very well.
Visible even through city lights.

trust me,no one wants ufo evidence more than me however try this little experiment..get 4-5 ballons, fill with helium, attach something with little weight, i do little green army men,you can even put a note on asking , to whomever finds this please contact me,but realease them and just watch how erratic they move, air turbulance is so erratic, you will see them move rapidly, then suddenly stop and reverse direction. so you will see these "chinese lanterns"could pull off some miraculous manuevers when seen in the dark. not saying all these sightings were however july 4th is known to have lights in the sky. on the other hand if i was cruising in a ufo and i started to see primitave pyrotechnics sure thing id sit around and watch the spectacle, maybe have a good laugh at the natives and thier "fireworks".thanks

Probably was all like, you, wtf are they shooting color lights for?

Honestly I don't give a flying *expletive deleted* what you think, or what you believe. I have an IQ of 134, I am not some inbred idiot. I have seen chinese lanterns before.. they do not cross a 35 mile distance in 30 seconds I don't care how strong the wind is.
Keep rationalizing it away, it is your choice. Close your mind and close your eyes. I honestly don't care if you become aware or not. I know that the natural human tendency is to resist waking up and seeing reality in every facet. I didn't share this for those that want to stay asleep, I shared it for those who are interested in knowing that something is happening and it is NOT chinese lanterns.

Have your fun while you can, it won't help you cope when the day comes that everyone knows they are here. And yes I said it. They are here!

I feel a strong urge to slap all those saying it's chinese lanterns.
damnit, do you even know what a chinese lantern is? Is it logical for you that they were flying faster than PLANES? If you even bothered to read the thread?
I am sure they were some sightings of lanterns, but clearly there are a lot of eye witness accounts that don't fit the description of slow moving lanterns.

Geese, I need a drink.

They seem to be talking about an orange or redish sphere or ball of fire. Sounds like chinese lanterns to me. Makes sense if everyone is setting of fireworks, I suspect many people will set off chinese lanterns too. I saw a fleet of chinese lanterns once. I thought this was it I have finally seen a ufo with my own eyes, but as I got a pair of binoculars out it was clear that these were just chinese lanterns floating in the sky.

I've seen chinese lanterns that appear to be moving fast. Because they are in the sky it is difficult to tell what speed they are going because it is difficult to judge the distance of them due to not being able to tell how big they are and at what altitude. So they can appear to move faster than planes when they really aren't.

ORANGE
Has anyone else noticed most all the sightings being described as orange? Looking at the various UFO and Mufon reports recently, I've never seen so many "orange" sightings as recently!
I remember reading about many orange sightings in the UK when they had a "no fly" zone after the eruption of the volcano in Iceland a few months back.
