Thad Allen talks in SO many circles it drives me crazy! Look how long it took him
to say it's a 2 step process...DD2 handling the top & DD3 handling the bottom
& here are the window dates of execution blah blah...Bloody hell that report & interview took for ever
just to answer the same question....what a waste of time & incredible BS to with it...

The main focus now is ALL the innocent people & animals that are now presenting
with major health issues & this is only the beginning of a long trip. Looking forward to
Test the Rain results...

soooo..... how much longer will these feeds be shown?? is it al over and done with when BP decides that the well is 'fixed'? will there be long term monitoring? who will be in charge of that? BP? how many wells are down there..? i think it is sorta of a weird coinsidence that, just well then 'releif wells' get to thier target, that a miracle happens and the well stops gushing. so, do all capped wells get a BOP? are they planning on drilling there again? ..just askin'... oh well, as long as it stopped...right??

Final Sealing of Gulf Well Is Delayed Again

"A long section of drill pipe that engineers thought would be hanging from the original blowout preventer is instead down inside the well, Admiral Allen said, and technicians will try to remove at least some of it, a procedure known as fishing. He said that the earliest the final sealing operation could begin would be Tuesday, and that it would take about a week.

With the installation last week of a new blowout preventer having eliminated any threat of further leaks, there is no urgency in sealing the well permanently, Admiral Allen said.

What a load of total BS. That's all I am going to say.

Anybody watching the feeds right now. On DD2 the well was showing there was a big blow then a crevice formed right at the well with little blobs of oil flying out. This is definitely not over. Stay vigilant!!! Kat, Dragon and Ektar along with the rest of you PLEASE don't give up. It's getting harder to find info about what's going on but don't stop trying. On more thing has anybody heard of Na Kika? It's a platform 25 miles south of Deepwater.
Interesting read when you relate Deepwater, Na Kika and the Mariner Energy platforms.

Na Kika N28.52 W88.28 Deepwater N28.44 W88.23

During the development phase, the field was operated by Shell, which was responsible for the design, fabrication and installation of the floating host facility as well as the subsea production system. The company also drilled the first ten development wells. Upon production, operatorship reverted to BP, which is responsible for the operation of the platform and satellites.
Shell has a 50% interest in the floating host facilities and the Kepler, Ariel, Fourier, and Herschel fields, with BP having the remaining 50% interest. Shell has a 37.5% interest in the East Anstey field, with BP holding the remaining 62.5%. The Kepler, Ariel and Herschel fields are primarily oil, while the Fourier and East Anstey fields are primarily gas.

I didn't see that....but I did get some shots of a VERY long fissure that the rov was inspecting yesterday....it was very wide and deep....I will post the pics asap.....it followed it for a couple of hours and it seemed to just go on and on.....maybe miles long.....it almost looked like burms on the side of a road it was so steep on the sides!

Oh man I wish I would have seen that.....I was going to post some pics I took yesterday of a huge fissure that was very deep and wide, but I can't find them now....*sigh*...can you describe in detail what you saw? Was it one of those "fiery" looking storms? Or was it the hydrates whipping around? Could you actually see the crevice form?

They won't be on much longer IMO....they are phasing them out slowly. I would say any day now they will stop.....they may keep a couple on till the relief wells are finished....but I doubt any will be on after that. BP cannot wait to be rid of the eyes on them! And yes.....they WILL tap that well again in the future....once they think people have forgotten and don't care anymore.........they have many $$$ invested and many lawsuits coming....they won't give up on that well, because it is a gold mine. I think THAT is why they put a BOP on a "dead" well.....so that it will already be in place when they come back to it.....so, as for whether or not all capped wells have a BOP....I don't think so (but I could be wrong).....but I DO know why this PARTICULAR one got a BOP.....because it will be used again in the future.

I'm staying on it too, as much as I can with no feeds....I just talked to someone else who saw the crevice open up in front of the new BOP....it is now a hole with those orange balls coming out of it. I just caught a glimpse on DD1....they keep shutting it down or blurring it. There are some blue hose things near it and it says they are "monitoring the mudline"

Here is a pic of the crevice, which is now a hole.....this is from 150 feet above, and is only a small part of it, but it's all I could catch before the feed cut out again.....it looks small here, but it's not....it's pretty large, like I said this is a very small piece of it.

Shot in the dark: But I believe it means they are watching the mud/sand between the well stem and seafloor for any signs that the stem is moving, or that the mud is being pushed up from below. Now I could be completely wrong on this one, but that's just my guess.

something must be wrong.....now they are monitoring the connector....see picture below....

Why would they be monitoring the BOP connector?.....all this since the blow up earlier and the fissure turned into a hole....something doesn't seem to be going well....

I shot some video of the connector yesterday morning...of course it has a few leaks...
Sorry I've been gone, will be back this evening & will try to upload. As it stands now phase 2 won't
even be finished until 28 Sept, if they are on time.
