There is something out of the ordinary going on today....these explosions have been going on (off and on ) in the same place for 3 and a half hours. More on than off. They usually die down fairly fast....not today. The ones going on now are as violent as they were 3 hours ago.

I caught what I think are eruptions on Olympic Challenger rov 2. Here are the links. Sorry I couldn't get more. I have to hurry. My brother's getting married, then it's off to a pow wow. Got to dance! Have a great weekend, all. Stay safe.

EDIT: Another vid. This one's Skandi rov 2. I wasn't fast enough to catch it before the cam turned away but you can still see a little disturbance on right side of screen. Sorry it wasn't better.

I was thinking about this as well. The major difference seems to be the amount of sea life around the naturally occurring ones. Unless the oil killed and disintigrated all the giant tube worms, clams, limpets and shrimp, then this area doesnt seem to be an area that has a history of these occurring naturally.

love all these pieces being put together, everybody!

I was wondering the same thing the BP scene looks like a desert compared to the pictures of the vents. There is no vegetation or marine life around. Maybe the chemicals?

Hey Kat I'm watching OC2 now.. looks like things are really starting to happen down there
Just wondering how significant this could be with the next cme that's due in the next few days..

Just been looking at OI3 and there's something that looks to be a red pipe on the bed that I've not seen before..

Earlier today, it appears.

And nobody knows, but many here have a good guess.

Maybe. But the images I have seen online of methane vents like the one in this link? ( en.wikipedia.org... ) seem to show a good bit of life that, even if dead, might not just disappear. Where are their bodies? PErhaps they are covered in all that debris, but i suspect that means this area wasnt very active 'naturally' before bp stuck a straw in there.

Hi there everyone, just popped by to see how things are going on this front.

I'm watching the feeds now and yeah looks like the OC2 is indeed seeing some sort of cloud eruptions. No idea what that is, I'm no expert.

It seems to be going on quite regularly as well.

Has there been any movement on the PSI guage on HAM2 ?

Hmmm...

Edit: Wow there's been some seriously violent eruptions just now @~ 13:12. I really wonder what that is...

In an article dated this morning at Florida Oil Spill Law.com, BP is quoted as saying the pressure was at 4200lb/sq.in. Should be 0.

"They are indeed communicated with the oil reservoir below."

Here is a little video from the OC UHD 30 ROV. This seems to show a pretty violent sea floor that has been doing the same majority of the day. I will say that some of this may be prop wash from the ROV, but not all of this will be from the ROV.

I don't think that much of this is from the ROV fans. Keep watching because you will see something that doesn't look right.

I was wondering something. Has anyone else noticed that the Ocean Intervention III ROV 2 seems to be sitting on the bottom and yet the ALT is showing numbers that I woud think should show 0 or am I missing something here. If anyone knows please feel free to let me know, because I have no idea.

IMO you have done an excellent job here, as I come here for my BP news now.

I know this is foolish, but here I go- so don't kick me too hard

I have seen the "explosions" too, and "I" think it is out of desperation.
They are using those 8 foot long yellow sticks to plant charges in the leaks and cracks in the sea bed to seal them up. I saw a Bot scan one end to end, with full light, and almost full zoom for at least 4 min- I wondered then why look at this stick (flat at one end and pointed at the other with irregularities in between) for that long in full light and high magnification?

"I" believe it was to make sure the charge was not attached to it (before detonation)

The 1st relief well was 30 feet away from the down pipe 2 days ago.
I realize they supposedly pulled out due to the weather.
The man in charge of drilling the relief well is 40 for 40 in connecting successfully!
Therefore I think they connected with the down pipe and.. the "gas" came up very fast.
I am just going to stop here
