Just got the most incredible video of the 'floornado.' Ocean Intervention ROV 2. I am putting the video on YouTube as we speak.

This video has to be one of the most incredible videos I have posted or seen yet. This just totally blows me away and literally I am at a loss of words. I would assume this is a methane bubble seep at a high rate of speed which is interacting with the current and sand to create the 'floornado' effect. Ocean Intervention ROV 2...just before 7am EDT August 13, 2010

Here you go, just watch the floor. It just seems like the floor has a few cracks or holes.Notice the color change.

Now here is from the Q4000 ROV and notice the the lower section and it looks like a good leak.

It is nothing spectacular but I just thought it was interesting.

Tsurfer....that is exactly what I was trying to describe in my posts yesterday. This is the spot where there was a huge eruption so bright orange, red, and yellow it almost looked like fire. It only lasted a few minutes, but it was intense. The ROV moved very quickly up and away, then came back down when it was over, and zoomed in on this.

Some of this is just prop wash from the ROV, but it also looks like something coming out of the floor after all is settled down. I may just be seeing something that is nothing. You be the judge I might just be wrong or I may be right, I just don't know..

I will keep watching and maybe I will catch something good.

It's coming from the crack in the floor. This was also part of what I was describing. This shot was after the first big rupture....the camera had not moved yet. When it stopped, this was coming out of the crack.

Hey Dragon, thanks for the updates (know the time differences don't help when some of you good folks live in other parts of the world) just been looking at the last few pages for a catch up, lots of seeps and that blow out that Ektar caught a few pages back was a definite eye opener

On the feeds now having a look.. seems static down there for a time and then something seeps or moves on one of the Rovs, what's all the white globs on OC2?

Found this link and wondered if anyone had seen it, at the bottom of the page it mentions 'ice worms', saw a screenshot that Ektar posted the other day and wondered if that's what it was? Excuse if this link has to be copy and pasted, still trying to figure that one out

www.netl.doe.gov...

Great find M! This explains a lot to me....I don't know about the ice worms....but....maybe it explains what we have been seeing. It says that the seabed appearing "shingled" indicates the presesence of hydrocarbons....and the white objects we see on the seafloor must be the hydrocarbon "caps" they are mentioning. I see them a lot and was wondering what they were. Maybe these caps are rupturing and causing the explosions we see, and the holes we are seeing is where caps have blown off. Hope I'm making sense...been up all night.

"I" believe that by only capping the well head allowed seepage from the down pipe that some have said is fractured- therefore it would allow this gas to escape through the cracked pipe. It would come up through the seabed as we are seeing presently.

I watched the cams for 2 hours after they actually capped (stopped) the flow. Within one hour the bots were scanning the seafloor, at least 3 of them anyway. I saw an Bot move over a one foot mound with oil slowly pluming out of the center (about 6 in in diameter)- then to my amazement it settled on the sea floor 10 or 15 foot past it, pointed away from it! I never saw that mound again.

With all the hours I have spent watching these feeds I guess should have learned how to record them- words just don't do much!

Dragon that was amazing footage- Kudos

I, like you, am astounded.....it reminds me of the geysers in Yellowstone....that's an uneasy thought.

Great catch of the floornado I wasn't quick enough to catch it. Floornado that is the best way I could describe what was going on.

Another big explosion on OC2....over very quickly though...threw the rov around.....there is a lot of stuff flying around, then BOOM...you have to keep watching as it happens off and on. But they are pretty intense. The first big one lasted quite a while.

I have been seeing it Kat,

seems like things are coming to life down there, the effects of the cap are really starting to show!

One thing I find strange is the lack of weather down there I have always watched the weather in my areas but for the last few months I have focused on the Gulf. - what seems very strange to me is when every storm comes blowing in you can see it has power but as soon as it hits the gulf it dies you can watch the color in the radar just die out and the clouds in the radar anyway seem to disperse?!? I dont like that word disperse! it might have something to do with the storm not being able to absorb the gulf waters if you can still call it water.

THANKYOU! I have been watching this all morning...it just started happening again and it is really violent! It calms down for a while, then bam.....I noticed that about the weather too....usually, when storms make it to the gulf, they will intensify....because the gulf waters are so warm this time of year....unless there is a lot of wind shear etc....I swear these explosions are worrisome though. Did you see the one this morning that just kept going and going? I thought it would never stop.

By OC2 do you mean Ocean Intervention III ROV 2? If so it might be best to call it OI2 because there is also Olympic Challenger UHD30 and UHD31, which other people sometimes refer to as "OC" (and sometimes as "Oly"). OC_UHD31 has been on test screen all morning. I got video of OC_UHD30 showing a big storm about 08:00 CDT.

Missed OC2 but OC1 has been having eruptions for half an hour now. Seems like things are intensifying. Found another interesting article on Well A and Well B

Here is a little of what was seen from Olympic Challenger 3. The color of the sediment is interesting.

I will keep an eye out for more of the same on the other ROV's

edit: Wrong name for the ROV fixed now
