I agree as I said earlier in this thread. This proposal if accurately portrayed is dodgy and likely unenforceable. There are privacy and search issues. In the past however, I have witnessed an all out condoning of pirating of music and video by many ATS members and I'm disgusted by it.

Yeah, That's because a lot of people tend to pirate things. Some cannot afford it, some have bad judgment, some just do it, and some do it not knowing (kids, I wouldn't say teens)

Arguments could be made that all works belong to the collective mind.

I really prefer an open use policy. But that is just me.

Yes I doubt they will.. It'd be impossible to enforce...

Off topic, but I love your signature

There is no way they could enforce this.

There is no way a prosecutor could prove it.

Methinks someone has been lied to.

Evidently the oil spill has been capped, the Gulf of Mexico cleaned up, the borders secured, Afghanistan is now a peaceful ally, and the economy is back to boom times if the Retard in Chief has time to implement an anti piracy initiative.

Question for ya. Did you disagree with the bailouts during the Bush era too? I'm just trying to get a handle on where you're coming from.

Don't make the mistake of thinking I'm for Bush. I had some high hopes when he first entered the White House, hopes that he would surround himself with intelligent advisers; because, face it, George W. Bush was an imbecile.

However, by the time I realized he was crawling in bed with Ted Kennedy and the other liberals in Congress, and that John McCain was doing the same, it was too late. When they pissed me off, I wrote against the GWB administration the same as I write against the Obama Administration today.

The Bush administration was working toward the same socialist objectives as the Obama administration — amnesty for illegal aliens, weakened border security, bail-outs for banks that insisted on pursuing worst practices, et cetera.

And I oppose those objectives, regardless of whether the Idiot in Chief is a Republican or a Democrat.

See, I don't care who is in the White House — it's the government that is corrupt and it's the government that needs purging. When the conservatives are in power, it's the same level of corruption as when liberals are in power. The only difference is, the liberals are shamelessly corrupt, as is apparent with the Obama administration.

Which is why I favor Revolution — either a revolt at the ballot box or a revolt in the streets, but the People must rise above the Government. That's the only way to restore our liberties.

Just when do you thnk they got the bill paid for the 1st world war?
it seems that any imcome tax taken from the people since that happened is also stolen!
What about stealing the land from the natives AFTER they made deals on the size of the reservations...talk about a hornswoggle!
Dont talk to me about downloading music!
Dont hypocrite me out about theft when the countrys whole economic system is based upon getting as much as you can for nothing!
The music industry has been ripping off the artists for millions for a long time. The artist can now by pass the record company and sell direct on the net, without ever producing a tangible product! The prices per unit MUST GO DOWN if piracy is to be stopped!
Make the changeover and eliminayte the money grubbing middle men!they neither create nor produce, they merely get in between the fan and the artist and collect the lions share of it all
They ahve been ripping the people off at the other end too!
Dont give me that it costs so much money to make an album and distribute it....
CDs are produced for pennies apiece!
I believe that both the fans and the artists have been had by the entertainment corps !!!
And its obvious whos pocket the goverment is in......
Who gives the most campaign contributions?

There was a hilarious picture going around the net some time ago that explained the absurdity of the industry. According to RIAA apparently they lost more money to piracy than exists in the whole world. On top of that the whole vanilla ice production by their estimate is valued at 11 million or billion US $.

Okay, so we arrest congress for viewing porn, arrest Obama for his books (his speech statements are in there) as he lied, and stole money in doing so, and charge them with the deaths of everyone who died in false wars, and in for the animals dying in gulf oil spill, etc. Talk about sick and pathetic. What about his HOUSE in Chicago and Rezco? What a hypocrite, and a piece of garbage.

The music industry has been a rotten, corrupt business for more years than any of us have been alive. OF COURSE they're going to shake down the public if given a chance — and here's the very administration that is in perfect philosophical agreement with the music industry: Let's screw the public up the butt until they bleed money!! Mwahahahaha!!

Think about it... Obama could have been a music industry CEO, with the same lack of ethics, same greed, same agenda to rape America standing up. Obama and the Music Industry are like peas in a pod.

CDs may be manufactured for pennies but it usually costs a lot to produce and engineer one and many hours of work. It takes a lot of work and a lot of money just to get a band on stage. Anyway, I will leave you all to your politically justified stealing after this post...maybe you can share your favorite illegal download torrents now, eh?.

Don't any of you know professional musicians?

Who else are you going to steal from because you don't like the President or your tax rate or the way the country is going?

This is a repeat of a long pattern of the PTB using ways like this to strip people of power and give themselves more...

They will use any avenue to achieve this and we are seeing proof of this every day by these totally absurd and outlandish schemes by governments..

And yes these laws rarely if ever achieve what they tell everyone it will be used for.. and subsequently to that, the only people it hurts is good citizens..

I knew obama would try and do stuff like this before he was in office if he got elected.. He isn't disappointing me in that regard, but I detest him as a human being..
