A little confused by the reply here, but I do agree with you, rest assured, that there is no such thing as an ex-CIA spy, though there are ones that have made the break with the agency, I believe. I don't think that guy did or even intends to try and make that claim. Guys like Philip Agee actually did I believe, but the "spy" remains within, at least in that they will always think like a spy.

If you'd like to that's fine. I also remember reading somewhere (I read so much during the day I forget the source) that Afghanistan actually has about 3 trillion in resources. And the only ones who want it are the disaster capitalists. Such a horrid price to pay for material things...

Sorry. My fault. I got confused. I was saying that the article from There Will Be War (Forbes) was written by this guy...

Reza Kahlili is a pseudonym for an ex-CIA spy who requires anonymity for safety reasons. A Time to Betray, his book about his double life as a CIA agent in Iran's Revolutionary Guards, was published by Simon & Schuster last April.

The northwest of Iran borders on Turkey and Iraq and Kurdish guerillas are active there as are US special forces. I don't know if Iran actually made the statement attributed in the article, but I do know they are in a defacto state or war there 24-7 and may have just formalized it by declaring it. It would be nice to have another source from Iran itself, I'd have to say.

Can you link me the source for this information? I am just curious for my own sake as I like to keep up to date on things involving Iran.

Until we have full 100% proven sources I will not believe in it.

This would be one, but I have to run out for a while right now, so I'll try and get more when I come back.

Probably. My guess would be this is a volley back by Iran. Might be some truth to it. might not be.

Yep. It's kind of a 'wait and see' thing. Nothing happens until it happens. I'm still trying to digest and condense the info into one fluid thought

Just a quick addition though I don't have time to get the link. Try looking Seymour Hersch's April 17, 2007? article in the New Yorker on the subject of US covert ops in Iran and also the guardian has a few articles from 2005, so there is a history here. Sorry I have to fly. Peace!

How could this website be "westernized" when the Internet is a Western invention? I am also curious to know what you mean by that?

By my best guess you are criticizing the speculation based around the Op's information, would that be correct?

Here's a tip, try explain your view a little bit more in depth. Some people around here call it "second line".

No. I was referring the lack of other cultures contribution within the website. Such as india, China, etc, etc. Lack of a cultural diversity. People from other countries.

did not mean to offend, but I would like a source from a member who may have family over there

I wonder if any of this has to do with those 'secret cables' that are supposedly with wikileaks.

For instance, a general may say that a US / Israeli pre-emptive strike might be necessary if Iran got their hands on 'plans for invasion' by US / Israeli forces.

Israel's security director himself said a pre-emptive military strike may be necessary...

On Tuesday, June 22, Dr. Uzi Arad, head of Israel's National Security Council and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's closest adviser, said "The latest round of UN Security Council sanctions on Iran is inadequate for thwarting its nuclear progress. A preemptive military strike might eventually be necessary."

I might be really off base here, but somehow I can't see Iran pulling a pre-emptive strike. It wouldn't make any sense and it would be suicide. They play the game, but I have a feeling it'll be Israel or the U.S., for a "good" reason. Unless of course they knew for SURE that they were being attacked, which is I guess what you saying...hmm...I need to think some more.

if you zoom out from the middle east map
what do you see all above them ?
china and russia .. i consider them to be huge empire like the usa
but that was in the past .. now they have the economy and power
and if they decide together that .. ITS ENOUGH
first they will clean the ME of the zionist regime and usa control
china will get the new land it seek ... AMERICA
they have no choice to many people .. laws to make only 1 child
its in their survival interest and now they might have that chance to cross the pacific ocean with THIS :
20 Millions millitary men .. very well equiped
with that they can post a battalion of 100 000 in each city of north america
so the plan to attack iran who is friend with china and russia is very risky
usa gov and israel gov are SUICIDAL and MADLY INSANE
they are now waiting for the last mistake from the usa before they strike

i might be wrong .. we will see after the strike who will join siding with iran
but this theory is very plausible and we should consider it

I'm sorry. Where I said "Iran's security director" I meant to say "Israel's security director". I edited my post... so yes, I think we are in agreement.

If Uzi Arad works for Iran it would explain a lot of things going wrong in Israel lately...

On general topic - i do not see Saudis allowing Israelis to land and place equipment there. It is illegal to be Jew in Saudi Arabia, so i kind of fail to picture welcoming to bunch of armed Jews.
Open airspace - this i can see, yes. Israeli planes doing training sorties in Saudi airspace - also possible. Landing? Out of the question in my opinion. Though i was wrong before, naturally.
