My personal take on the OPs suggestion is that the BP logo does in fact resemble the wormwood plant/flower. I think those that do not see this, are simply lacking a little imagination. Much like some people just don't get abstract or impressionist art, or certain kinds of music equated with an emotion stated by the composer. In pointing this out, I'm not slamming anyone as being a dunce, merely saying that sometimes obvious symbolism to one, isn't so to another.

As far as the debate between those claiming that the BP oil spill can not possibly be the 'prophecy' the OP mentions, as it didn't arise by meteor/comet strike, and those that insist otherwise, I have a different take.

Perhaps the 'Meteor Strike' hasn't occured yet. Here's my logic. The revelation states some key facts: something like a fiery mountain falling into the Sea; 1/3 of all ships sinking, and 1/3 of all fishes dying; along with the Sea turning like blood. Well, perhaps the fiery mountain are the Methane Hydrates now accumulating in the vacinity of the oil well. After a time, perhaps these hydrates will start to rise towards the surface and eventually burst through into the atomosphere. At the point where the Methane overwhelms the traditional content of seawater, the water loses bouyancy, and guess what - ships sink! Then if it continues to rise into the air, it may spontaneously combust causing a humongous fire ball, possibly even igniting the vast oil slicks on the surface. Now to somebody from the Roman Empire Era, that may very well look like a fiery mountain falling into the Sea.

There have been many threads on ATS that have great links to the Methane Hydrate scenario and risk, so I won't duplicate links. However, its worth a look into if you're not familiar with it.

Finally, standing aside from the particulars of this specific thread, we are still left with the fact that an oil leak of unprecedented historic proportion is now occuring, and does not appear to be successfully remedied yet. 60,000 barrels of oil a day, poisoning one of the most vital Seas in the world, affecting the lives of many millions of people and animals. The jury is still out on this one. Let's see if this is fixed by summer's end, or if we wil then be six months into the event that forever changes the US, and potentially the world.

This is great work. I would have never thought of that type of connection to wormwood. Again, good work and thank you for opening our eyes to this potential casualty.

BTW....I cannot fathom an artist wanting to paint Wormwood but I do know

So what, exactly, is the point then?

If you have to use "imagination" to match things up, then theories (not the OPs) that are completely deranged are just as valid as provable hypotheses. If it's just "a little imagination," then any ridiculous thing that is claimed is just as valid as anything else, logic be damned.

I do happen to "get" abstract art, yet it would be silly of me to insist that whatever meaning I interpret is definitely THE meaning of the work.

I see no connection between the two events. The star named wormwood will likely hit the Alps where many rivers and streams flow from. Toxic water of this nature can look like beer. Once more in the context of the bible note the events that happen before this. It starts first as following...Wild Beasts in Rev. 6:8

Also such an earthquake would likely sink half of California and cause the super volcano in yellowstone to go. As it is seen as "heaven rolling up like a scroll" the same effect from a nuke. Wormwood only shows up once in the NIV and yet it shows up multiple times in the King James.

Interesting to note that the word Wormwood only shows up in the new testement once, which could be the reason that it only shows up in the NIV once.
