And optimist I may be, and please don't feel bad for me on that account

I was referring to your post re: the numbers of dead and the fact israel has not released pertinent information

My response was to say that the world is fully aware of the dearth of informationf forthcoming from israel re: the wounded and captured

and as I said, the long israel stalls with that information, the more closely the world will be hovering over israel

I'm not the Magic Genie, unfortunately

We do what we can, when we can

Some of us, like those on the aid-boat, go the extra mile

As to israel's ultimate fate --- blowing in the wind, isn't it ?

But if you want to do more --- contact your politicians. Lay it on the line. Join the protests and be heard. Boycott israeli and affiliated products. Don't put on a uniform and fight israel's battles and try to dissuade others from doing so

Remember, you're not beaten as long as you're still trying

Did I say that the Israeli media wasn't biased? Ofcourse they are. Just like that Hezbollah source. All I said was that I would like that story confirmed by both sides before attaching any value to it.

www.israelnationalnews.com...

A Lebanese shepherd crossed the border in the contested Har Dov area into Israel by mistake on Sunday night. The man was detained for questioning. Security forces feel he had no terrorist intentions.

Reminds me of our old "dompas" .... or the Nazi "papers".

PM Netanyahu must take the personal responsibility and resign, as soon as possible, even today. Whatever the cause of the incident, whatever the justification of the special forces, the international deaths are already a fact, the international condemnation too. PM Netanyahu must think of the consequences of a nuclear middle eastern war, that will have disastrous impact on the tiny state of Israel. He must not allow that to happen. He must simply resign, to let the time pass by and the things to calm down. Israel has never been in a worse international position since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Not even the siege of Arafat or the wars in Gaza and Lebanon have drawn so much and so unified international anger.

A nuclear Middle Eastern War means WW3 in a matter of weeks. That concerns me too, that concerns you too.

Consider Syria and Iran having at least some nuclear material, and Turkey having US thermonuclear bombs on its territory. We do not know how many ready soviet or chinese nukes have been secretly transported to Iran or Syria. Russian general did not deny the media reports of 250 Soviet Ukrainian warheads (100kt or so). Project Camelot speaks of Chinese warheads ("Anglo-Saxon mission")

By 'manage public perception' --- they mean 'the shaping and forming of public opinion '

LOL. Somehow, I suspect their mandate far exceeds their ability

Those Megaphone peeps must be furious with israel for making their task double impossible

That's Ok. That's ok. Let them run their mouths. These days, everything is recorded for posterity

so let them mouth off, while those they've just butchered haven't even been granted a burial yet and the wounded are in an israel secret limbo

They always go too far. They're doing it again. Let them brag and strut and threaten

Because they're going to have to live with what they've said and done for a long, long time

Nice find, we can see them at work among us.

More ships on the way, with military escort, and Egypt also having made a rather crucial decision to open supply routes.

Is it just me or has the world decided to do it's best to bury Gaza in humanitarian aid. See we can. Just gotta get the nazi pirates to stand down.

Are you sure it was humanitarian aid? I find it stupid from Israel to come with this "live" intervention without a proper reason. I mean: it was known that the 6 ships got strong media coverage , why would they risk it??? Maybe we miss something ? Did they got an order to initiate WW3 ?

Edit to add : What about hunting and massacring Kurds? I guess Turkey does not have the moral ground to do what they do. Egypt? yes.

Willravel included this in his/her comment "And if it is occupying Gaza, then under international law (1949 Fourth Geneva Convention) Israel is responsible for the welfare of the Strip’s inhabitants.

Given that the blockade has put Palestinians there on a starvation diet for the past four years, Israel should long ago have been in the dock for committing a crime against humanity."

Meaning, if Israel isn't an occupying force then they have no right to impose a blockade on Palestinian Territorial waters but since they have imposed this blockade they are in fact occupying Gaza. Therefore, Israel "doesn't have a leg to stand on, legally." They are clearly in violation of International Law.

Israel is undone

They do not have a leg on which to stand, that's true

They never did have the guts to risk international sanctions, by openly declaing they were an 'occupying force' in Gaza

..... yet they have behaved exactly *AS IF * they are an officially-declared occupying-force

However, because they are NOT an official, occupying-force

they had NO RIGHT to declare a blockade

and it follows they had absolutely no right to prevent the aid-flotilla from docking at Gaza

It goes without saying that they had no right therefore to even ask the aid-flotilla to turn around

And the magnitude of israeli-wrongness re: boarding and attacking the aid-flotilla --- is off the scale !

and that's without even mentioning the continuing illegal settlements on stolen land

You're finished, israel. Pack your bags

.

I guess Turkey is also pushing , both sides act like they got an order! I wonder if all this is a smoke-screen. if yes, what do they try to distract us from? Or, they know Euro is going to collapse so Turkey does not feel like having any advantage from being European? For a reason I see all this in the context of the financial crisis.

I want to mention : do not approve what Israel soldiers did, but i cannot fully condemn it as no flotilla was ever headed towards my country in order to help people that would gladly kill my people. So.. I DO NOT KNOW! I am reading here in oder to get educated and find out the truth so please be objective .

Right. But what we term 'creepy', they regard as 'smarter than'

What IS creepy is the fact we knowingly or otherwise banter with them, right here

(but we kick their butts, so it's all ok)

why didn't the bbc have a reporter on the floatilla? why isn't it saying, like other outlets, that protesters were waving white flags. israel says they were attacked first..a reporter on the boat says its commandos were shooting before they'd even got on the thing. why if there were british people on board has the uk been so slow to condemn when germany, france and italy have? the uk ambassador to the un and william hague have come out, eventually quite strong. saying need to lift the blockade of gaza..that's the only possible response, which is a very good thing and the strongest i've heard from uk for a while. US tho has NOT backed calls for an independent inquiry, just an israeli one
