Don't worry

The fact that israel will once again be permitted by idiot US to investigate itself and find itself innocent

--- will work against israel more savagely than if it were independently investigated

Simply put, it will just make the world hate israel all the more

and that will impact on israel economically and otherwise

Turkish FM likens flotilla raid to 9/11

Shortly before meeting with US Secretary of State Clinton, Ahmet Davutoglu tells reporters in Washington, 'Israelis think they are above any law, but we will stop them'. "Psychologically this attack is like 9-11 for Turkey because Turkish citizens were attacked by a state, not by terrorists, with an intention, a clear decision of political leaders of that state," he said. 'Murder'

Definition:

1. crime of killing somebody: the crime of killing another person deliberately and not in self-defence or with any other extenuating circumstance recognized by law

If the IDF killed with intent then why didn't they just air strike, shell or torpedo the ship?

[edit on 1-6-2010 by Skellon]

It would have been way too easy, if we heard a similar communications feed as that of the air strike from the U.S. Apache helicopter on the van of helpless townspeople including children, when they declared to be in possession of rocket launchers, or were terrorists. Maybe we could have made a quicker association to the strike on the flotilla.

The implication of a coo exists, and we may never get THAT recorded feed....

Smoking gun.

Skellon has been on here since this morning - eagerly trying to push some twisted agenda.

Even when dozens of members who SAW the original footage and first started getting the eye witness events and despite the fact that even the MSM are doubting Israel's motives and tactics , He/she is still determined to stick up for Israel.

Wonder how much he/she is getting paid?

He vanished shortly after he suggested we stick to the facts, and I gave him a couple...

The first survivors are beginning to talk to international media

Israel ... after first admitting the flotilla passengers were unarmed -- has been utilizing the time they've been illegally detaining survivors to try to whitewash themselves

It hasn't worked - not even with the unrelenting spin by the Israeli Online Troops

Just like with teh White Phosporous and everything else. First israel lies its face off. Then it begrudgingly concedes in face of overwhelming evidence against it

This will be the same

Logic would say they should have contacted the ship and tell the captain to stop but nah they had to send commando's and hope that people would go down peacefully.

Where have they gone?

I'm pretty sure that the prevailing Israeli opinion is that the world at large is not to be trusted when it comes to Israeli state security, and that most of the world has hated the jews and later the Israelis for a long time, so nothing has changed. When you live on an island surrounded by your enemies you tend to not really give a crap about the opinions of people who live over the horizon.......heck the State of Israel is not even recognized by about 20 member nations of the UN, so why would they even care what the UN has to say?

Weapon smuggling to anti-Israeli forces is a well document phenomenon in that region. Some are destined to Hezbollah, as seen here. Some are destined for the Palestinian Authority, as seen here.

It seems to me that Israel has the right to defend against these type of shipments, however heavy-handed they may act. Again, when you feel like you are going it alone, desperation and bad judgment often go hand-in-hand. There is an old saying about "don't mess with the bull - you'll get the horns". Too true. Lotsa bad decisions on both sides here. Lotsa blame to spread around.

Watching the general White House press conference on CBS right now. The white house spokesman is sweating bullets concerning the Israel situation, deflecting almost every question regarding it, and had one reporter escorted from the conference.

He did state, however, that there is no bad blood between the two countries.

Live feed still going here: www.cbsnews.com...

WEll, israel had no authority to go near the flotilla in the first place

So, having dispensed with that unimportant legality issue

it was onwards to murder with a Yo Ho Ho

Michalis Grigoropoulos, who was at the wheel of the Free Mediterranean, said: "We were in international waters. The Israelis acted like pirates, completely out of the normal way that they conduct nautical exercises, and seized our ship. They took us hostage, pointing guns at our heads; they descended from helicopters and fired tear gas and bullets. There was absolutely nothing we could do … Those who tried to resist forming a human ring on the bridge were given electric shocks."

Six Greek activists who returned to Athens accused Israeli commandos of using electric shocks during the raid.

Dimitris Gielalis, who had been aboard the Sfendoni, told reporters: "Suddenly from everywhere we saw inflatables coming at us, and within seconds fully equipped commandos came up on the boat. They came up and used plastic bullets, we had beatings, we had electric shocks, any method we can think of, they used."

Kutlu Tiryaki was a captain of another vessel in the flotilla. "We continuously told them we did not have weapons, we came here to bring humanitarian help and not to fight," he said.

"The attack on the Mavi Marmara came in an instant: they attacked it with 12 or 13 attack boats and also with commandos from helicopters. We heard the gunshots over our portable radio handsets, which we used to communicate with the Mavi Marmara, because our ship communication system was disrupted. There were three or four helicopters also used in the attack. We were told by Mavi Marmara their crew and civilians were being shot at and windows and doors were being broken by Israelis."

"It was extremely bad and very tough clashes took place. The Mavi Marmara is filled with blood," said Cetin, whose husband is the Mavi Marmara's chief engineer.

She told reporters that she and her child hid in the bathroom of their cabin during the confrontation. "The operation started immediately with firing. First it was warning shots, but when the Mavi Marmara wouldn't stop these warnings turned into an attack," she said.

"There were sound and smoke bombs and later they used gas bombs. Following the bombings they started to come on board from helicopters."

Israelis opened fire before boarding Gaza flotilla, say released activistsFirst eyewitness accounts of raid contradict version put out by Israeli officials

You mean like this?
